Trying a new type of format this week! This is my review of Veronika decides to die by Paulo Coelho.
I read The Alchemist by the same author and LOVED it - it's a must-read if you're into spirituality or like to delve in life's mysteries. So when I saw this by the same author at the library, I decided to give it a try
I was not disappointed! This book is profoundly human... and a breath of fresh air to read in such normalised societies.

I just finished reading the book and I really liked it. It was my first time reading something written by Paulo Quelho and I found his writing to be very simple and fluid. The book is full of incredible life lessons .The only thing I'm not so sure about is Veronika and Eduard's romance. I understand why he created it...because love or intense love is one of the great adventures and experiences in life but I thought it was a bit forced mainly their intimate adventure in the moonlight and then a bit about Eduard leaving his world .Of course, that doesn't take away from the fact that the book was a huge success for me and really changed some of my perceptions about how we spend our time alive and dead. I agree with you on the simplicity of the writing + the story with Eduard. I think it's part of Coelho's mastery to make profound stories so simple, but you lose some depth and nuance as a downside. I'm glad you enjoyed my review, it was my first on video :)
