This is my recommendation (with a catch) for the brand new release of TemTem 1.0! This video refers to the PS5 version of the game. TemTem is a monster catching/ monster taming MMORPG, with turn-based battles and a whole host of side content to keep you busy. Its available now on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, Nintendo Switch and PC. Its honestly true that this game is more for the hardcore players. Catching temtem's shows their stats immediately (pokemon's iv's and ev's) and the default battling format is doubles which is how pokemon tournaments are generally run adding to the complexity. Unlike Pokemon Sword and Shield which made it easier to get into the competitive scene by implementing an ability to just share teams using a code; temtem utilizes a whole economy based around selling shiny/luma temtem with perfect stats and access to breeding/egg moves to other players. All these things require a huge initial investment of in-game money, time and luck which is why the game implements an auction house to buy temtem from other players and a fertility system to keep people from flooding the market. There are special ways to battle for PvP only that give your tems perfect stats but it doesn't help with raids and other content. I have been enjoying casually playing through the game so far and am happy Ive almost completed the temdex; but this game is not for the faint of heart and there to scratch an itch if your inbetween pokemon games or personally tired of them.

Only issue with the review; The Dojo's aren't random, they're dual typed. Example is the first gym is actually Water/Wind, which you can see through the sign of the gyms. Otherwise, fair critique. Game definitely is more challenging and even at end game I think that only a small percentage of the community are beating the equivalent to the elite four for this very reason.

Yea, another viewer mentioned that same thing. I tried to play the game blind, without any guides or anything like that and I wasn't really aware of it at the time. One thing I pointed out to the other viewer was that the Dojo's are indeed dual type but the first one also had Lightning and some TemTem with Toxic moves. Due to that, on my first playthrough, it felt like they had nature, wind, lightning and toxic in one Dojo, if you see what I mean? I now understand that the Dojo's ARE dual themed but at the time, on my first playthrough, it didn't feel that way. Either way, thanks a lot for watching and for the clarification. I understand the difficulties you are talking about. Back when it was still early access I bought this game in the hope that I would find the same experience when playing pokemon. And I did. however when I got to the first dojo it was my biggest obstacle. and the longer I get more and more trouble with this game. and decided to stop playing. However, when the full game 1.0 was released, I gave it another try. And what I didn't expect was the more I got involved in this game the more I loved it. And continue to play it until now.

I absolutely get what you're saying. I've done that with so many games I've lost count. I bought Borderlands 3 on release and really didn't care for it. I pushed through to the end but I didn't do side stuff or really care much about it. Then 2 years later, I had this itch to give it another try, I did, and I really liked it for whatever reason lol. I did literally everything in it the game plus all the newly added DLC. Kinda funny how that happens. Thanks for watching and for your comment!

Thanks very much! Yea, I think its got to be the biggest and most feature rich monster catching game in the world right? I mean, I would assume so. Its great but probably not as good for some real casual players or the younger ones. After playing more TemTem and some other games after this review, I THINK I might like Coromon a little bit better. That's not to say one is bad and one is good though, far from it! They are both great but I'm not very "hardcore" with many games so Coromon works for me. Thanks for watching!

Yea....I mean, its cool for people who actually WANT that but I dunno, that feels like such a small minority. Not that everything should be made for the masses, some niche games are some of the best around but still. I just think it'll turn off a lot of people in the long run. Starters that you get in the start of the game are completely locked with their stats/traits/Luma chance. You will always get the same starter with the same trait.

Dojo's do have a type theme, there aren't just brain dead mono type cake walks. Dojo 1 is Water/Wind Dojo 2 & 3 is Nature/Fire Dojo 4 is Crystal/Toxic Dojo 5 is Eartn/Neutral Dojo 6 is Digital/Electric Dojo 7 is Melee Dojo 8 is Mental

That's fair enough, probably didn't seem that way to me because I remember Dojo 1 having a lighting type as well as some toxic moves. Now that I've looked it up, I do see that have an overall type but they do have some other random bits thrown in. I absolutely see what you're saying about them not being braindead. Just like with the Coromon review, I would rather play a monster catching game that actually shakes up the formula like Mon Sanctuary. But I can see the appeal of this game, I just dont have that so much time to try every game.

Have you tried doing a coop play through with your significant other? Coop lets you play through the game together and help each other out.

We did play it co-op for a short time but very soon after that, she was basically done with the game. The game was great when playing through it (besides the hardcore leaning of it) but having finished the campaign, I'm also done with it at this point. I've been playing video games for 30 years and I can absolutely see that its a good game, its just too much for me to enjoy in this specific case.

I'm on the fence with this game, my thing is that I don't want to invest in this game and say next year servers shutdown, I just don't see this being played for years. Coming from a huge Pokémon fan I like this game and with the new games around the corner I just can't see myself playing this right now

I see what you're saying. I have to say, I agree with DS ShockTrooper. By all means, go ahead and play the new Pokemon first, but you should absolutely try some other monster catching games. Haha yea, they brought me a truck full of cash in large sacks with dollar signs on them🤣 lol. In all seriousness though, Pokemon hasn't been high on my list of monster catching games for a while. I don't dislike them but they're kinda meh these days. Sword & Shield, for me, is the worst mainline game they've ever made. Arceus was OK or decent I suppose. I have Scarlet/ Violet on preorder so hopefully I'll enjoy those!

Every other game like this though, huge numbers when first release then slowly losing player because people finish the game and started playing few times within a week Only few player gonna play it everyday

And where the heck are getting that from, Steam Charts? This game is multiplatform with all systems and its a monster catching game. This isn't your typical WOW MMO. Most activities require one person and with all systems in tow it's extremely easy to co-op or pvp on Temtem.
