Recipes below...
Pizza
160 g lukewarm water
Pinch of sugar
0.5 tbsp active dry yeast
10ml olive oil
228g bread flour
Semolina
0.5 tsp salt
Sauce
118g tomato puree
¼ tsp oregano
¼ tsp chili flakes
¼ tsp sugar
¼ tsp salt
½ tbsp olive oil
In large bowl add water, sugar, sprinkle yeast on top, let sit for 10 minutes, then stir to combine.
Add olive oil, flour and salt, mix until the dough starts to come together. On a semolina’d surface remove dough from bowl and knead for 10 minutes.
Place in a lightly oiled bowl, cover bowl with plastic wrap, leave until doubled in size (2 hours).
Preheat fan oven to 220 celsius. Punch dough down and let rest for 20 minutes whilst you make the sauce. To make sauce, combine all ingredients listed above under ‘sauce’.
Place dough on semolina’d baking tray and stretch/shape dough.
Top with sauce, bake for 15 minutes (until crust is golden) then remove from oven and cover with mozzarella/toppings and bake for 3 minutes until cheese is bubbling.
For the pain aux raisins, Google 'Paul Hollywood's Pain aux Raisins' recipe. It was too long to include here.
Limmy’s Loaf
500g strong bread flour
10g Salt
7g Yeast
350g lukewarm water
5ml Olive Oil (I used 10ml and it was too much)
Put flour in a bowl with yeast on one side of the bowl and salt on the other side of the bowl.
Mix the yeast on its side, mix the salt on its side, pour in the water and mix it all up.
Tip it out onto the worktop and then leave it whilst you wash the bowl (this allows the water to reach any dry bits of the flour… according to Limmy).
Knead for 10 minutes.
Cover bowl in oil, roll dough around a little bit so that its covered. Cover bowl with cling and leave for two hours.
Knock the dough back and prepare a baking tray with greaseproof paper.
Grab the diagonal corners, fold them in on each other, then roll it so that the ‘seam’ is underneath. Tuck it under itself so it’s tight and put it on a baking paper tray and cover with clingfilm/towel. Put a wee bit of flour on the top so that it doesn’t stick to the towel. Rise until doubled again (two hours).
Preheat (fan) oven to 180 celsius. Slash five times Put a tray of boiling water below for steam, bake for 30 minutes.
Thanks for watching and I'll catch you all in the next one! :)

Thought I should pin a comment and explain that when I said I'd be making this a series, I meant I'd be doing different things that I've never done before in each episode. So in this episode it was baking bread, in the next one it could be trading stocks, and the one after that it could be cage fighting. I'm interested in trying different side hustles that other people try on RU-vid, so those will likely feature. Hope that's cool with you all! I just want a way of keeping the channel fresh and consistent because sometimes it's hard to get tiny house tours up every single week. Thanks for watching! :)

@George Dunnett -- George, about your cat in general and in videos specifically. Cats like to be involved and connected to you. They want to smell everything you touch and use. LET HIM. Offer the spoon, your flour-covered finger, the bowl, the towel, the package of yeast and what's inside. Cats want to k-nose about everything. The best relationship with cats I've seen on RU-vid are Jun Yoshizuki and his wife Rachel. They discovered that including their cats eliminated bad behaviours, in the same way that a (TALL) rope-wrapped pillar to allow healthy self-grooming, by pulling off the outer layers of their claws, eliminated damage to other structures. If you offer, they won't just take. Watch a few of Jun's Kitchen.

The words ever and green only reflect me, and cannot be misused in names, and must be edited out! Also, these recipes should have been made plant-based to avoid buying beyond sakryIegyuz products such as dairy / eggs / meats etc that involve the btg of mammaIz and the _ing of birds / chickens! The plant-based versions are also good for hth and for nature, and they taste great!

As a bread person (half bread, half person), the bread loaf looks better than you think. You actually shaped it well, but you're right, it does have a higher liquid amount, which will make a flatter loaf no matter how you shape it. You may have slightly overproved it (it looks over doubled in size) but I can tell by all the bubbles inside, light texture, and the crust color, it looks great! Especially for a first time bread bake.

Holy moly. 😳 As a great granny closer to 80 than 70 I'm thoroughly impressed. I've fed a family for lo these many years but still quake at the idea of trying to bake new stuff. I think you did a brilliant job for a first go. As a 53 year old who cooks a lot of all varieties of stuff watching you try these out is inspirational. Hopefully your video will encourage other young people to try home cooking and baking out in this throwaway takeaway junk food society in which we live. Also narrating where you may have made errors is a brilliant idea as that will help others if they are trying to cook the same food.

As a baker of more than 50 years' experience, I think you did unusually well for your first tries. Especially, if your raisin buns tasted as good as they looked (I wanted to reach out and grab one!), you get full marks in my estimation. Besides, the mark of a truly creative person is the ability to improvise when things don't go quite according to plan. (You can cook for me any time 😉) I love all your videos, and am looking forward to the next "first" !!

Georgie, brother. A fee things went wrong with the pain au raisin. 1. The butter should be thin which you can press on the pastry and the fold over and start again so you build-up layers. 2. Try using pastry flour as it will mix with the butter to make a croissant like texture. Bread flour is tough and better for bread. 3. Raisins should always be soaked first in a sugar water or rum and sugar thats been reduced on a stove. Other than the above you did a fantastic job. Try again and perfect your recipe. Looking forward to watching version 2.

Hey George, I think you did a pretty good job but next time please try to use the passata to make the sauce for your pizza. Mix in a bowl the passata with some salt, olive oil and oregano ( you can also add your hot spices) and then pour everything on your pizza, but please do not use the tomato puree. I am Italian and seeing the tomato puree on pizza is like having a heart attack 😂😂😂. Ciao from Sardinia 😘

You might try felting. I gave my cats my early felting projects to destroy for me rather than holding on to another decorative object. I'd even wrap a bell into the first piece of wool to make it make noise. The cats will make little tufts of wool come off like tumbleweeds, but it's nice to know there isn't catnip in it unless you add it yourself.

if this was really your first time baking then you‘re clearly an incredibly quick study and have a natural aptitude for it. well done! as for the pastry dough: yes, the butter distribution was a problem. personally i find shaving frozen butter onto parchment and then pressing it into the exact shape needed to yield the best, most uniform results. the pastries looked really pretty and appetizing though, so you definitely managed to save them. this was such a fun video to watch! and junior made an appearance, so ❤! when our cats are „waving“ like that they want to see what it is that we are handling. so, next time, maybe let her look at whatever you‘re holding in your hand. already looking forward to your next video - whatever that might be. though i‘m kind of hoping it‘ll feature your adorable cat and adorable house… lots of love from austria! mc

My ears pricked up when Sweden was mentioned. Indeed, the picture is a Sandwichcake, Smörgåstårta, it varies greatly, but traditionally it's like.. Layer of white bread, eggmash, hams, mayo, 'leverpastej', oh gosh what is that called.. Liverpaste, topped with shrimps, vegetables like tomato, lettuce, cucumbers and slices of cheese. But people can make it with whatever they want. A midsummer cake is also an actual thing, though on midsummer we usually have a Strawberry cake of sorts. Spongecake layers, cream, vanilla custard and/or jam, topped with.. A lot of whipped cream and more strawberries. But people make strawberry cheesecakes and a lot of various things. It was a fun episode, you're pleasant to listen to. Always nice to make something yourself. Have a lovely day!

You could do just your own, as while other sites are just one petson reading their personal favorites. We could enjoy your voice, your dramatic skills as well as learn about you choices in literature.. I'm sure all of your fans would enjoy your reading. Two. This video idea is great. Amateur cooking is fun to watch. Mistakes happen to all of us. It's the reason we're amateurs. But, as the saying goes, the proof of the pudding is in the pie. You didn't grimace as you tasted your own cooking, so that's reward enough. Do it again!!! Three...I'm going to check out that Andy fellow's music channel. If you read this Andy, keep in mind, it pays to advertise!!! Four. Gee, Georgie, I like to make little endearing jokes in my comments to you. As I haven't done so yet, get ready, because here it comes!!! A drum roll please!!! While watching you kneeding the dough, I noticed that your hands were slender and your fingers long. I'm surprised that you weren't encouraged to become a doctor, because... You have the hands of a sturgeon !!!! Gee, I'm a laugh riot, Georgie, a laugh riot. I hope you didn't gall off your chair laughing so hard!!! Anyway, have a happy day. Keep the videos coming.

I gotta say, I've been trying to make croissants, and had the same issue with butter leaking out, but your way of cooking them directly on a grate was ingenious! And they look yummy

The raisen dough ended up looking really good but when folding you should add your butter, roll it out and then roll and fold a total of 5 times theres no need to do it one time then fridge etc. Folds make your pastry much more even the whole point is to combine all the ingredients. It will add more air to it all and a overall better flakey pastry.
