Love your list of no buys. Ive been watching RU-vid videos all morning on how to grow your savings. The issue is, towards the end of last year I decided to sell or donate clothes and shoes so I can revamp/elevate my wardrobe. But this year I’ve shifted my mindset to saving more because of the direction of this economy, and I’m starting to implement some steps to help me avoid impulse buying. One of the steps will unfortunately include limiting my time watching influencers who’s always unboxing luxury items 😂. So thank you for sharing this video. It’s confirmation. 🙏🏾💕
Thanks for watching! I too have stopped watching unboxing videos. The FOMO is real. And many of the luxury RU-vidrs unbox once a week. I can’t keep up 🫠
Absolutely! Yes on the jewelry , makeup, and skincare, but Issa no for the coats. 😃I have two more on my to-buy list, then I can finally have coat peace.😄
This is a great video idea. Like you, I don't need any more clothes. I also don't plan on doing any RU-vid haul videos this year besides for the Nordstrom anniversary sale.
Thanks Melissa! I realized that I was swimming in clothes and my purging couldn’t keep up with my buying. I haven’t done a haul in months. If I go to fashion week in September I may borrow some items but I don’t need anything at the moment.
Repeat buying - that’s an addictive habit that I’ve had to stop! But I’ll always be in danger of falling down that rabbit hole if I don’t stay vigilant. I have a massive Lululemon pant collection- how many travel pants do you need? Especially if the point is to pack smart, pack light 🤣🤣🤣
I cannot buy any more loungewear. It’s taken over my life and my wardrobe. I don’t have real clothes anymore. Also, my husband hates lab grown diamonds. He refused to look at that we were shopping for my wedding ring, but sales people kept pushing it.
The loungewear is a problem for me! I tried to do a purge and couldn't get rid of anything! I don't like lab grown diamonds either. They are expensive and not as pretty. If you don't have any money, lab grown makes sense. If you have money, get the natural diamonds.
Agree with all. As we mature in life we become wiser with how we spend money and we realise we just get influenced and impulsive and certain things dont match our lifestyle. I am questioning the necesity of everything i buy lately, if is really justified.
@@CathyMekondo most of them don't have a real value to pass on and until passing on we have life to live. I moved my energy to learn about investments. If we are not careful society brainwashes us with idea of instant gratification. I have for long time the same approach as you with jewelry. I Would buy only if is gold. At least I can resell it if needed.
@@CathyMekondo one more thing I identified with you when you said you bought clothes for youtube. In my case was facebook and looking nice in pics. At least we became wiser 😄
Not a flex, but me acknowledging that I’m not going to be happy with less than what I’ve had in the past! I was being silly thinking I wouldn’t notice the difference
I live in Chicago and realize I don’t need as many coats because I can go 6+ months without wearing one. I used to like in San Fran and wore a coat 11 months out of the year. I could definitely wear 20 coats out there.
Love this video! You were cracking me up. Girl the dead pans and realness had me looool. Looking forward to your video on what you decided to keep v. sell from YT only purchases. Touching and agreeing on the brand deals.
Thanks for watching Joy. I’m keeping more of my real personality in the videos vs editing them out to keep videos short and to the point. Auntie Cathy needs a brand deal!
@@CathyMekondo i love that you are letting the world see more of you. You have a dope personality that doesn't need to be dimmed. I think it'll draw folks to you. Basically, she's my homegirl AND she knows what she's talmbout. Love the shift!
Lab grown diamonds grrrr….. buy a real diamond an “earth made” diamond or buy a cz…. Simple, lab grown is a scam, thousands of dollars, for what?? Just say no. Another marketing scam like “chocolate diamonds”, pre-loved as opposed to used, just more marketing to make us pay more money than we should. That said, I love shopping excellent condition used luxury bags, slg’s, belts, clothing its all good, all depending on condition of course, but lets call it what it is and move along.
Totally! I was surprised at the price of lab grown diamonds. I think they want to keep them expensive so that the companies continue to make money or we attribute them as having a higher quality. I disagree that they are the same as mined diamonds but I'm a layperson.
They want to keep the price high simply for profit. It costs nothing to manufacture them. They are not rare at all. They can manufacture as many as they want, just like cz’s. All of the things that make diamonds special, and expensive are missing from this lab grown garbage. It is a non-argument to say they are the same as natural earth grown diamonds, they are absolutely not the same, not in any way shape or form. It is an enormous scam. It almost hurts to see people taken in by this nonsense, and the greed behind it…. Ugh 🤢
@@jbbb7418Agreed! The lab grown diamonds I bought turned very cloudy. I guess I could try a better quality. You would think that if they can manufacture diamonds, they would just make them all flawless and perfect, but how would they be able to charge more money!
