A few simple QoL improvements you could make : - Hide the red buttons during attacks for better visibility. -Make the flash in Asgore's eyes bigger for (yet again) better visibility. -Experiment with the camera angles a bit more. Don't worry about having slightly different camera angles for different attacks.
I think a great way to do the flash in asgores eyes is actually to dim the entire arena's lights, and illuminate the room instead with his eyes. Then the only thing that would illuminate the room would be the attacks themselves. It would give that extra pizazz and style to the attack. Maybe I'm crazy but the way I'm imagining it would make it look pretty damn cool and a nice way to telegraph his signature move.
@@Chex_Mex Definitely. Would be cool too if, when the lights go out like that, your character model is smoothly replaced with the floating red heart cursor you get in og undertale.
@@isha27324 that`s gonna be intresting, play full undertale 3d, because there is already a finished map and sagore battle, so you have to put it together and finish some parts. I`d like to play it lol
@@HakoTaco1Undertale hype would come back honestly. If this ever indeed does happen, it needs to be properly taken care of and taken good time on to be a majestic success!
17 Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. JESUS CHRIST HEY YO
I love how he used “Death by Glamour,” “Spider Dance,” and “Hopes and Dreams” for the parts when he’s making the fight but saved Bergentruking for the actual fight.
Bergentruckung (however you spell it) is the initial slow part for the intro of the battle, ASGORE is the actual fight theme im qssuming that you meant to refer to ASGORE in the comment.
I'm currently replaying Undertale having not played it in many years and I feel so lucky that this came up on RU-vid as recommended. I'd 100% play a 3D version of Undertale! You did a fantastic job and it really just makes me want to say "PLEASE MAKE MORE UNDERTALE FIGHTS!" but I know you'll want to do lots of other games too. You earned a sub! STAY DETERMINED!"
I bought Undertale on Steam a few weeks ago and I recently got more and more interested in the game and all it has to offer. I decided to not do a True Reset yet. Maybe I might do one once I manage to dodge all the names in the Special Thanks credits. Anyway, I find it cool that there's this recent video on the game.
@@Poly_Knight I love that you're trying to recreate 3D version of Undertale, but in order to truly make a 3D game you have to add one more way that a character can move (going up/jumping) and there's more room for more bullet in the space (to make sure that player can't escape 2D directional bullet by jumping).
I also like it but i can't help but feel frisk's head is an apple model that has multiple colors and layers added onto it, just because of the top part which seems like it sinks in at the middle and has a strand goimg out of it just like an apple, might not actually be like that during designing but it just feels like it
Very nice! Some minor nitpicks: The marker cubes that spawn the wibbly fire lines are still visible. The music doesn't loop properly (it should just play ASGORE on loop instead of playing the intro theme again). Asgore's health bar in the target-select menu stays full the whole time instead of matching his actual health.
I loved what you did here, one of the best 3d Undertale videos I've ever seen, it translates so well. Idk if you plan on continuing this, but I have a couple suggestions: 1. Hide the UI while an attack is happening, it'll help it be more polished. 2. Make so when frisk is switching between defence and attack he starts in the same place. The fact he slides to different positions is a little jarring. 3. Give a little more animation to Asgore when he takes a hit, maybe make him heave his shoulders a bit more as the battle progresses or something. 4. Make the flashes of his eyes a bit more prominent. There's a lot more detail here than there is in Undertale, and the eyes are really easy to miss if your not actively looking for it. 5. Giving frisk an simple attack animation would make it feel a bit more dynamic. As well as maybe different posses depending on how hurt they are, or what weapon they have. 6. Animate him cooking and eating Ramen noodles mid fight. It's increadibly important, trust me bro.
I think an easier improvement you could do is when he is doing the blue and orange attack to cut the spotlight that lights asgore, maybe also the stage, since not only is it hard to see the sprite in his eyes, but it mimicks what the 2D game does. There's other things but this seems like the most crucial to facilitate what you already have. Still a very fun recreation for sure
I think angling the camera lower for that attack so the player has a better vision of Asgore's eyes would improve it. It also shouldn't be an issue for dodging because the attacks tell is the eyes.
Astarker lighting contrast on his face, a close-up zoom of his face, and a third animated stance for him (readying the trident for the swipes) would improve both the spectacle and readability, then it can zoom out and give just a second for players. He can swap to the stance in the some moment the camera zooms in to hide the lack of animation, and swap out of the stance when the camera refocuses on Frisk
2 Timothy 4:18 and the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Ever Quest
Looking good! A few tweak suggestions: -Custom camera angles for different attacks, especially when projectiles come from under the camera -Have Asgore disappear for attacks where the projectiles come from behind him -Have a black and white version of Asgore for certain attacks, will help make his eyes more readable, and make him have more flair
I always love seeing such talented unknown artists make their first video and get the recognition they deserve in less than 24 hours, thats so beautiful, keep doing videos like this and you are guaranteed for success. Subbed.
Thank you!! I honestly didnt think it would do well most people say that you have to be consistent and make a 100 videos before people see you , I was happy just learning and had no expectations. Imagine my surprise waking up and seeing this much support T_T
@@Poly_Knight the secret to youtube is like 60% skill, 30% knowledge on the algorithm, and 10% luck, likely to have another good video people will likely expect another undertale video, but dont feel inclined to not change around content, whatever it is I’ll watch it
The sad thing is that Asgore is holding back the whole fight. He doesn't want to kill, but he's in a position where he absolutely must do this for his people otherwise they will literally die from depression. He also holds back because he is extremely depressed himself. He even kills himself in neutral endings if you got rid of Flowey after the previous fight. Let's hope that he and Toriel patch things up while working together at the school. They both deserve happiness again.
For real, this was one of the fights that didn't expect to hit me so hard. There was so much guilt in his words and music and I hope he can forgive himself one day :')
bro made only a single video and got 18K SUBSCRIBERS, what a legend, and the video is amazing and the game is also amazing, you should make it be able to us to play it
Oh my god. This was perfect, you managed to capture everything Undertale is in such a new and creative way. I would totally play a 3D remake of Undertale designed like this. The characters, the sprites, everything. You did an amazing job. I look forwards to what you will do next!
I’ve been a fan of Undertale for at least 5 years now, and seeing this was insane. The effort and work in this is obvious, and seeing a 2D fight become 3D is great and super impressive. Can’t wait to see what’s to come!
Yeah, I think it'd be way to heartwrenching if it were Toriel. I have unresolved feelings about that fight considering Toriel is a very motherly character and I was raised only by my mum. So it takes me a while to even get past that fight cause it feels like I'm fighting my own mum.
This is very good project for studying different areas of gamedev while creating something you like! I do see imperfections and stuff that could be improved, yet even so it's still very impressive to see so much made and seem to be easy(which is actually not and requires skill and effort) You motivated to me to make such project myself in a future, can't wait to see your future attempts as well!
Gotta say, as a professional Undertale creator, it was pretty good. I've seen a lot of games come and go in the UT community, and this one is by far one of the best ones I have seen. It matches levels with fangames currently out, such as No More Deals, Undertale Yellow(Upcoming), and Dusttale: Last Genocide. A lot of fangames have come out, and this Undertale 3d was not totally unique, as there have been demos beforehand. But. This is the highest when it comes to quality. By Quality, some of the fangames when they were 3d were rough redesigns or really short ideas, but were playable nonetheless. I've played them as well. Since Gamejolt allows you to post them on it for free without needing permission from Toby Fox - as long as you put credits, why don't you upload it there? I would love to play that!
Just saying this in case you’d want to update the project later, or maybe it can give you ideas for future projects, but I think that the camera for enemy attacks should be slightly further away and probably shouldn’t follow the player. During enemy attacks, the HUD should either be hidden or have the opacity reduced by a good amount. The flashes on Asgore’s eyes could’ve been more noticeable if you displayed a light effect on them, respective to the colors they should display, as well as dimming the rest of the arena a little bit. Otherwise a very solid project, I have high hopes for the future of your projects :)
Turned out so clean… Really inspiring content to watch? Weird punctuations, yes!? Goofiness aside, I really liked the video. The style was incredibly clean and professional with the particles, lighting and the models. This video format is quite bite-size and YT friendly, but I sure would love to see something more in depth too! I’m looking forward to watching more content in the future =3
This remake was AMAZING! I love the sprites and the unique environment you made for the boss. Even the UI and the mechanics were on point. I just recently did another playthrough of Undertale, so I'm really excited to see more fights made in 3D!
I love this so much! This actually feels like a version of the game that could've existed, the energy of the original is portrayed perfectly here! I'd pay good money to have the entire game like this if it was possible :)
DAMNNNN the atmosphere is beautiful for this!! The fire ashes translated so well in the 3d space and it blended so well with the slight gradient of purple at the front so pretty
i'll start studying animation at the end of this september, and someone who wants to work in the game industry, you inspired me a LOT. undertale is the first game that captivated me into the rpg world and seeing it this beautifully re-made by an indie game dev me so inspired. of course this has minor mistakes and some parts that can be improved, but overall it still has the original game's main features and still has the specific "undertale" feeling. never give up on your dreams and keep working hard, i'm sure you'll gonna go far⭐
Okay, it's pretty cool.. Even though it's been a 6 month since video i want to mention few things that could do it much better, noone is about to do it, and noone should anyway. But here i go: 1. 3D Sound. in 3d game, it could've be so cool to hear asgore infront, and some fireballs sounds around while you move . Even if that's already added i can't really hear it that much.. 2. 2.5D UI, just imagine frisk actually touching buttons on UI, some new sound effect's, stop canon'ing things, me things better, noone would judge you. 3. Visuals. In original game the moment's of dark ambient while asgore blue and orange attacks was something amazing, so why don't make in even coller in 3D version? There's a lot things to make it better, but who cares? you did great, thank you. Hope you'll make something that world would like as much as Undertale, something that would make other people determined to continue your path, but even if you won't make "another Undertale" you already inspired at least me.
Hey! I just found this video, and wondered, "what would a Chara jumpscare be like in 3D?" This looks cool! The way you move around to avoid attacks is amazing. 👍
"Note : For those who want me to upload this as a free download to play, I've already made a twitter account and tweeted Toby to ask for permission, am not too savvy with twitter so hopefully I went about it the right way. Thank you guys for your support!!!" Ever heard of CYF or Unitale!?!? Toby likes fangames
This is amazing!!! i already wondered how Undertale would look in 3d but i always thought it would be super hard to make, I'm pretty impressed by what you put together! It's super cool and I love it :)
Am I the only one who noticed that that the UI says "FRIS" not "FRISK"? Also you can't fight asgore with the name Frisk, because that name enables hard mode, so it should really say "CHARA"
This looks pretty damn neat. The attacks/attack arena look nice and the speed change to compensate the 3d looks like it works well. I feel like the one thing that bothered me though was his eye attack. It doesn't seem to give a tell besides the small period of no attacks at the beginning, and the eye flashing seems small. I feel like darkening the sprite (slightly or obviously) would probably be a good indication of the attack, alongside making it feel a bit more dynamic than Asgore just standing there.
@@Poly_Knight It is really good, hell if you give some animation to the moves like Asgore casting the magic instead of just standing there... menacingly But with the resources you had available and the time you did a very impressive job
Overall great! 2 things i'd improve though: 1. On Asgore's eye attack, I'd dim the brightness of the room (or if we're getting lazy you could just use a vignette) to put the player's attention on Asgore himself. Alternatively, you could keep the attack camera on him until he finishes his eye patterns and THEN switch out to the battle camera. 2. The dynamic camera angles are great, and i'm sure it was complicated to setup, but I'd personally have kept the player's position when switching back to the battle camera, as changing the player's position constantly can be off-putting in 3D, in Underatle it worked great though, so this is more optional. Be proud of this! This is an amazing project. I'm being nitpicky with these small details due to your desire to be a great developer and because I noticed you spent a lot of time on polish.

I have a suggestion. whenever you are fighting, i feel like it would be cool if like your character went transparent and showed the soul inside. kinda like how in deltarune when you can be damaged in the overworld your character turns black and you can see your soul.
I actually love this project so much and if I could, I would gladly play it. i’m actually SHOCKED how underrated you are for how much talent you’ve demonstrated. take my sub and continue to grow!
I'm so glad to see Undertale content being made in 2023. I loved Undertale so much when it came out, and it still holds a heavy grip on me to this day. This game changed my life forever, I'm so glad it inspired you too! You did a great job!!!
A perfect representation of the game preserved in a 3D environment so far. Part of me would like to see more animation for the bosses when performing their attacks, but it could also probably distract a lot from the scaling.
Genuinely surprised at how well this turned out. I don't know much about the whole "remaking-a-video-game" process, but I love the scene, the ambience, and especially the character models. The models live up to the simplistic style so well. I really hope you make more videos like this, it's so cool so see video games turned 3D
that is some insane talent, knowledge and hard work you've put there. it's amazing how many stuff are still made for undertale even after years. amazing content sir U_U🤌🏽
I do notice an oversight on 7:41 you can see when selecting Fight and the target it always shows Asgore with a full health bar. Minor detail, overall incredible work!
yo can i get this game ill make videos on this and if u make more of undertale 3d (or 3d games that are good) then ill make videos on them until i beaet them (maybe) if it exists tho
wow it looks sick but idk if frisk is called fris on purpose or by acident or if i thought that frisk was called frisk but frisk is actualy called fris
This is amazing! But I do think you can add some things to make it even better. - asgores eyes flashing bigger -possibly make his swinging animations better and his opening scene animation have his arm come out like in the game - better camera angles for some attacks But this is amazing other than those things!
Bro you did a great job man i want you to make this happen make the full game but also playeable in android so people can all play make it playeable in many devices🔥🔥
hello, your adaptation to 3D is really cool. Love it, it's badass and sick; there's some details that may be usefull to you, idk. I'll just write and hope that helps you. the movement of the frisk character feels a bit fast, I see that the speed is enought to avoid the attacks, maybe shrinking a little the hitbox of attacks and making the character just a little slower would give the battle some I MUST RUN feeling. and the THAT ALMOST HIT ME feeling. this version is like a beta, I know some animations are dificult, but giving Asgore's character a begining animation when destroys the mercy button would look more natural. idk if it's a taste thing, but maybe, when is frisk's turn, a perspective form the back of them, might look more badass. when Asgore uses the circles attack, the perpective would be a little annoying; maybe a upper or just on top perspective would help, but idk about the sthetics. You are amazing, bro. Thank you for doing this, looks amazing and I'm looking foward to more of it, if there would be. 😎
hi man, i think that this game is pretty good, and id like to see 3d undertale from you at all, buuuut i saw a few mistakes, and here they are: 1) Frisk's eyes are FAT 2) animation with trident is (sorry pls) very bad, asgore mustn't stay - he must move! 3) asgore is too weak. AT ALL THIS IS VERY GOOD GAME AND VERY GOOD VIDEO! BYE!
