I Remember This Dream (Dread & Paranoia) 

cloudy low contrast dusk/dawn is a very underrated time of day for a horror atmosphere. Witch Hunt had a very similar aesthetic and it worked super well to make that game unnerving.

God, I absolutely adore the visuals and the sound design as well. They perfectly nailed that time of day where you can basically only make out silhouettes. It almost looks photo realistic.

This game really gives you the experience of walking trough a forest during twilight. I managed to get as far as to the graveyard and after that I have constantly met those red ghost like things.

The continuing footsteps reminds me of a game that I think you'll like to play. It's called "The door in the basement"

I remember this game (pun intended). I watched it for the first time years ago in CJU's channel and I go back to it sometimes. I don't know why it still haunts me. I'm glad you uploaded this one, it's always nice to go back to this one.

Just gonna point out that this must take place in the Russian (Siberian?) wilderness. The main cemetery cross is distinctly Slavic in design, and the church is a stereotypically Russian Orthodox wooden church of the medieval through renaissance era (several such abandoned churches are scattered around remote Northern areas of Russia, and the remnants of ghost villages too for that matter). My memory is failing on the hanging sheet type things though they are ringing a faint bell -- no pun intended. The one monster with the horned skull is a pretty classic entity type stemming from/related to the Horned God I think. No doubt someone with more recent expertise can expand on this here, it's been far too long since I studied this area of mythology.

This hits home in a way, being a kid and have the same dream and remembering events trying to avoid the "bad ending", or having nightmares everytime I sleep and sometimes the same nightmare repeats but i don't have any control even though I know is not real and have the memories of what's gonna happen...

You reawakened my nightmares.

It's a shame that like so many horror games, this eventually slides from horror to frustration because the game maker doesn't seem to understand how tension and punishment affect the mood of the player.

The map and surroundings are felt like so eerie and unnerving and it makes you look somewhere but you feel that someone is following you

I'm super new to your channel, discovered you through your Gmod videos. I have to say, your content is incredible! You perfectly strike a balance between atmospheric uneasiness, humour and charisma, and strange but welcoming comfort; I cannot think of a single person who makes the kind of content you do, and if I did I doubt they'd be as great as you :)

The audio and atmosphere of this game is phenomenal! I remember jacksepticeye playing this ages ago and both of your reactions were the same when you found out for sure you weren’t alone in the forest

I remember watching this game back when I was 15 in the middle school, I forgot about it pretty quick and just after some years it's just came up from the memory, I was not able to remember what it was about, just realistic black winter trees and white snow in twilight, the atmosphere. Fruitlessly I was trying to recall details and the name of the project, I even thought I just imagined it or saw in a dream... Besides the whole concept and the atmosphere the reason this game is so memorable for me because it was made by russian developer, only in Russia (and like in middle Europe) you can see such forests, somehow he managed to truly represent how they look in real life, like he placed every tree and bush one by one, and the models he made so varied and believable, that log cabin ("сруб") also and Orthodox cemetery, shadoof ("колодец-журавль", "crane well"), Orthodox church. Now I almost can't believe that this little game was made so much time ago and with such quality in models, textures, sounds, ost and writing only by one person, it's all just merges together perfectly, everything is on it's place. Thank you for finding it and playing, I would never thought that I will see it someday once again.

I implore you to play Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs, it's such an underrated title, lots of people back in the day didn't appreciate it for being more of a narrative, dread-building experience than a jumpscare, chasefest, but today people are finally appreciating it for what it is. I'd also say it's got one of the best soundtracks of any game out there in my opinion.

Quite frankly one of the most beautiful game environments I've ever seen. Brought to mind places I've gone hiking and their subsequent reinterpretations in dream form. The droning soundtrack was a minor gripe for me as I love the stark ambience of a forest in the winter, but it by no means spoiled it.
