Right?! I love how she changes her door colors each season. I'm in the middle of refreshing my home right now, and I'm finally painting my front door a new color. I went with Minstrel Rose by Behr. It's a dust rose/mauve color. My current door is fire engine red, which was not my color pick it came with the house when I moved in. Took me almost 4 years to find a color I wanted, and watching Kayla be fearless with her color changing doors. 😂

Black would look great but I’d worry about chipping and it rarely looks true black. Grey concrete floor paint seems safer as wear is less noticeable and easier to maintain if you want to patch in.

Looking at this video makes me want to go all the way back to your first video when you decided on this house and watching you walk through and your vision of what you wanted to do to the house. You’ve come sooo far and are an inspiration. I started my house journey last year and unfortunately had to stop due to the market. I started again last month and am still ver overwhelmed but, GOD!!! God’s blessings to you &Marcus. You guys always do an outstanding job. Also, side note, that video when you were in tears because, all you wanted was a house lives in my brain. I was and am still there. I’ve cried over this homeownership journal soooo many times and I just think of that video and think about the promises God has for me and I keep my head up and keep going.

Tip to clean the shutters: I like to use my power washer! I bought this extender from Home Depot that you attach to your water hose. It comes with different adjustable settings. I use medium pressure and they are clean in no time at all! 😉👍🏾

I absolutely love how things turned out! Please don't paint the fence seal it. I love the natural color makes the house pop. When you do the steps, prime before you paint the paint will last longer. I use rustoleum it's the best paint. Have you thought about an awning for the porch? It will keep it clean and add spark to the porch. When I saw your mom helping, I cried. I lost my mom 6 years ago and this reminded me of me and her. Doing so many things around my home now, that I know she would just be in aww about. Many blessings to you and your family. Beautiful refresh. When you paint your steps see if you can add a sealant to it to keep it fresh longer. Also, for your plants and bushes add some compost( cow manure) to the soil to give it some nutrients. You all did an amazing job and I love the paint colors.

Looks great! Painters tip: hammer a nail In between each lip of the paint can just enough to form a hole. Once you’ve removed nail, you’ve got an opening for paint to drain back into can and keep the lid from sticking.

Hi Kayla and Marcus, love what you’re doing for your spring make over. I see you have plant food but I didn’t see any fertilizer. You have to fertilize your plants every year. Hydrangeas a your hedges love acidic soil. I use Hollytone and I get the large bag from Tractor and Trailor for $21.99. It should last an along time. Put it around your plants and water in. Remember, plants need the same thing we need to survive. They need light, water, food, love and nutrients. Always read the cards to place in the right area.

Try collecting the Cosmo’s seeds this year. They are easy to grow from seed. They will self seed but I prefer planting them out. When the flower is close to dropping I pop a little bag over to catch seeds. You could even grow some this year as they are flowering already.

I found you cause your house is almost like the first home that we first bought together. Same exterior and almost same floor plan. We only lived in our house for a year due to work transfer. We loved that house and you are doing all the things to yours that we wanted to do to ours. We also had window boxes on the same windows. I love your house! It is so pretty!!! One suggestion. Take a pressure washer that you can rent, and wash the front steps and edging of bricks around your plants. That will knock out the dirt and algae that accumulates on the steps. It is soooo hard to remove with regular mop. I love love love the colors you chose! Keep up the good work!!

Maybe try power washing the steps? Might help? I love doing that, really helps things get clean! Power washing does take paint off so you would need to be careful doing that! Your house is so cute!

As you were talking I was thinking gray would be a nice porch color. Such an inspirational video, and just in time for spring motivation. I sort of cheated this year on my spring flowers. Last year I was determined I wasn't planting any new flowers this year. All of the plants I planted last year even in pots were going to be something that would grow back this year. I wasn't sure if they would all come back, but it was a great success. So now you've encouraged me to keep it moving by painting my front door and cleaning up a little.
