Honestly the Fitbit sleep tracker is better than Apple’s. Fitbit automatically detects when you’re asleep even if you’re napping, with Apple you have to manually put in nap data AND it only calculates sleep during your sleep schedule you put in.
@ardentlytech

Yes! that was my favorite part of the sleep tracking of the fitbit. I would hope that would eventually come to the apple watch but I guess we will have to wait and see!

I have been telling people apple watch is inferior in comparison to Fitbit when it come to sleep since we have to do it manually log the time or schedule the sleep no body has time for that where in today's world everyone is providing then a autosleep recognition yet apple wants user to put it manual wtf

Eh, personally I’ve been using a separate third-party app for sleep tracking with my Apple Watch for years now (specifically the Pillow app; it’s free with a sub free now, but it just had a one time purchase option when I started using it & I’ve never had to upgrade to the subscription). It automatically starts tracking your sleep when it detects you are asleep & just works without me having to really worry much about it. I’ve never used a FitBit before, so I can’t speak as to how it compares to FitBit’s sleep tracking & I do have to make sure my watch is charged before going to sleep every night, but overall it works for me.

Good video. The Apple Watch is obviously superior, but daily charging really let’s it down. Even once a week charging for the fitbit can be a bummer when you are trekking in remote locations, but at least you get a week.

I love my Fitbit charge 6. It’s small and I have tiny wrists, it lasts all week, it tracks my sleep automatically and sleep oxygen, I get notifications of calls and texts on my iPhone. Also, it’ll track when you’re in peak or breaking a sweat while doing any activity and then you have the option to manually edit and change the name of what the workout was. So, it is awesome

Thanks for this video. It is becoming more and more rare to have a balanced comparison videos because many YT channels receive free products that are tied to specific agreement that require a list of promo talking points and restrict comments that might make other products appear to be better in certain areas... My 3 year old Fitbit just died so I am considering an Apple watch because I have an iPhone. For me, I don't want to be charging the watch every 48 hours or less. I am likely to buy another Fitbit and wait a few more generations before considering an Apple watch. Thumbsup and subscribing

Glad you enjoyed the video! Totally understand your comment about finding balanced comparison videos. I also understand your hesitation to getting an apple watch! I will say that I now have a Series 9 apple watch and fast charging has changed the game for me. While you still need to charge it almost every day or every two days. the fast charging makes that much more bearable than it was on my older SE. hope that helps, let me know what you decide to go with.

I wear Fitbit Sense at night to track my sleep and Apple Watch the rest of the day. Fitbit sense gives a lot of health data and especially good with sleep data. If I'm traveling and don't have a charger - Fitbit Sense holds charge a lot longer than the Apple Watch too. Since I don't wear Fitbit during the day - on the rare days I take a quick nap - I am bummed didn't get to track how long I napped for and sleep stages.

After having Fitbit for 10 years many models. I was frustrated with customer service with a Less then 1 year fail on lux3. I bought Apple series 9 . It’s more of a toy. There is no way it is close to fitbit. I can look back ten years on my history for info on fitbit. The Apple I don’t if I can go back more than a day or week without getting a headache. I like some of the safety features like man down ,auto accident will call 911 for you. Fitbit is a great tracker. Apple needs to do a lot more to come close to fitbit.

Not really a fair comparison; look at the Fitbit Sense which is still half the price of an Apple Watch and you'll find it has pretty much everything the Apple Watch has - 3rd party apps, multiple faces, and of course battery life. I am considering an Apple Watch for othr reasons but battery life is the big drawback.
@ardentlytech
@ardentlytech Год назад
That’s fair these are just the ones I’ve used so that’s why I did this comparison. Newer Apple Watches have fast charging that makes the battery situation much more manageable
@datphoenix1972

I was really thinking about jumping back to an apple watch with the series 9 but I think Fitbit is still the way to go for me. As someone who is mainly looking for a fitness tracker and really doesn't like all the smart features on a smart watch its the better way to go. Maybe apple will address that market with a tracker off their own? Maybe with a scale for body fat % and an all in one app? Until that day: fitbit. Sidenote: this wasn't a fair comparison since you compared a tracker with a smartwatch. The fitbit sense would have addressed all issues mentioned. That being said: as someone who is deep in the apple ecosystem as well i would also rather go towards the apple watch if i was looking for a smart watch in general and not only a tracker

After you made the comment about the vibrating alarm only waking you up in the beginning I just had to say this. The reason it stopped waking you up is because you didn’t get up when it buzzed. You are basically telling your subconscious that it isn’t important. That is why people might sometimes sleep through their regular alarm. How to reverse it? Simply tell yourself before you go to sleep that it’s vital you wake up at that time. When the vibration goes off, your subconscious will remind you you really wanted to get up - then take action! It will work for you every time providing you have had a good night’s sleep and get up when it goes off. Case in point: I never hear my husbands alarm as he continually snoozes it, but I wake up (and get up) the second my watch vibrates.

I am an Android user, so AW is out for me. Charge 5 strength is a health tracker minus the complexity of a watch. Since we always need to bring a smartphone anyway, why have a smartwatch which does less than a smartphone? With the battery life of Charge 5, that is more important in usability over features,.
@ardentlytech

I used to hate the idea of a smart watch tbh, If I wasnt gifted the og apple watch for christmas one year I prob wouldve never gotten one. that said, now that i have tried an apple watch it is more useful than I orginally thought so I have changed my mind about it. but still, it isnt for everyone and I lived just fine without one when I switched to fitbit. So it's really up to personal preference imo. As I believe most tech things are, find what works best for you and go with that option.

I really like the calories in and out tracking on the Fitbit. Does the Apple Watch have a feature like this or an app that I can download? Fitbit keeps track of the calories I burn and I can log what food I eat using the search feature or scan the barcode on my food. This is the biggest thing stopping me from buying an Apple Watch. This helps me make sure I’m burning more calories than what I’m eating
@ardentlytech
@ardentlytech Год назад
The watch tracks your burned calories but for tracking calorie intake I personally have used the myfitnesspal app. If you download it on your phone you will also have an app for the watch where you can quick add calories, but in the app you can even scan your food, find popular food and thier macros, or even add your own food and macros. I think it'll be helpful for what you're looking for. hope that helps!

great comparation with good arguments! I've heard there are problems with the phone calls on the fitbit: The vibration doesn't go away until you take the call or decline. I like the Apple Watch, the build the look. After further research, it can't record naps. As an older person, that becomes more important. In the recent version, accurate Heart Rate and Sleep tracking are excellent, two of the most essential parts of health. Sleep tracking is based on your set schedule; if I understand correctly, that can be fine for a regular night person. Otherwise, Fitbit Charge 5 will record any nap or sleep time. Garmin has the same issue. Google Pixel watch uses Fitbit tech. I assume it is like Fitbit, but the build can't match Garmin or Apple. I am trying Whoop and see the cost of a subscription worth changing bad habits.

I like fit bit watches but I’m hard on watch faces. I have cracked the face on my fit bit watches way before the watch quits working. How durable are Apple Watches?
@ardentlytech
@ardentlytech Год назад
I’m similar! I often bang my wrist accidentally on doorways and walls. You can get some nicks and scratches if you’re doing something similar. But you can also get third party bumpers to help with that. Honestly the newer ones are pretty durable as far as you’re not dropping it like I once did. My original Apple Watch screen cracked all the way around when I knocked it off the counter when I was getting out of the shower. So as long as you’re mindful of where it is they are pretty strong in my experience.

My Apple Watch annoyed the shit out of me and yesterday was the last straw when I decided to count my daily steps and without an external app you can’t add your step count on your watch screen. That’s so dumb. And the battery doesn’t even last the whole day if you’re using the workout mode. For such money that’s a joke 😩 not even worth keeping the “ecosystem”. About the accuracy? I doubt that Apple Watch can be more accurate considering that the FitBit was made solely for that purpose of tracking your activity. My friend has a FitBit and he showed me how it shows your step count in real time. My Apple Watch shows the count with such a long delay. Like 15-20 minutes…

Apple Watch is only worth it if you’re an apple ecosystem fanboy I’m not one of those so I prefer my Fitbit charge 6 1000% more than my old Apple Watch SE. Everything I need nothing I don’t absolutely 0 gimmicks unlike the Apple Watch that kinda tries to be an iPhone replacement but fails It may also have to do because I’m obsessed with micro machines, low spec computing and overall purpose built computers that have their own OS that are dedicated for one thing only that makes me find the Fitbit more fascinating over apple smart watches. My charge 6 is just a fitness tracker and it doesn’t try at all to compete in the MP3 sector or pretends to be a smartphone replacement
