I respray (for the first time) my 52 year old MGB at home on a bank holiday weekend. Part 1

Les, i once did sills and all 4 quarter panels on a 74 GT, thought my body work was sublime until i rolled it out into the sunshine where it resembled a washboard. I took it to a "real" shop and it turned out nicely. You are a brave soul for tackling this job, i know whats involved only too well. Nice job, and nice Aston-Martin as well Steve from US

Had a friend that had 1965 and another friend with a 1968 the 1968 had a overdrive. Miss those days, and yea we could do that on a 'Bankers Holiday Weekend...' Nice job for what it is, she will go another 52 years I'm sure with or without us, or a Bankers Holiday.... lol

Fabulous job so very well done and looks a real treat Les, well worth the time and effort you put into this AND saved so much money on a garage re-spray, I have been quoted from 5k to 10k to respray my old BMW 3 series! Will leave as is.

Did the same thing to an MGB in 1980 in the drivewa,y we used to use a lot of newspapers to mask everything up. Great video cheers

Well done Les - looks like a good job. Just a thought - when you do your next MGB you might consider painting some of the panels off the car (boot, bonnet, valance and doors - even the front wings). Much more control when spraying giving a better finish, less chance of orange peel and so less time consuming finishing.

Well done Les! What paint did you use? I thought you couldn't spray modern two pack paints without air fed respirators etc.
