I upgraded from the zFold 4. You definitely make same excellent points. From the zfold 4 and below I personally think its worth it. If you have a zfold 5 don't bother upgrading.
@@mikeyl114 just because it wasn't for me, doesn't mean it's not for you. That's what I want everybody to understand. I hope you truly enjoy it... and it does what it needs to for you, my friend 🙏
Agree with all your statements. I went back and forth on wether to trade in my Z Fold 4 for the 6 or not. In the end, I trusted the warranty, quality, Samsung Care and software experience over the OnePlus. I use this as my second device and my main device is a iPhone 15 Pro Max, so don't use the cover display that much anyway.
@@sdmoore89 is a content creator in bringing in a smartphones, it's a hard decision to return anything. The way I look at it though with the Z Fold 6, if anyone wants a long time review, just go watch my Z Fold 5 Update Review, basically same experience.
@@myproject13ttt I get it. You would be selling another device while putting up a good amount for the fold 6. Yearly and bi yearly updates aren't really worth it anymore, even with a good trade in price
In my personal opinion, I think z fold 6 is an worthy upgrade coming from s24 ultra because of the slightly wider display on the outer screen although I’d like a few more mms wider, although I really hate the slow charging, besides these, I m happy with everything else.
I had the pixel fold and the phone was just too damn heavy so i went back to the iphone. I ended up picking up the z fold 6 and i couldnt be happier. The square shape is perfect. I also picked up the s pen case and i am just in awe. Anyway, great video man.
when it comes to newer devices, especially stuff like these niche phones, it doesnt make sense to upgrade every year, bi-year, or even tri yearly. That is the reason i switched over from my iphone 13 pro to a s24. i really liked the design of these so i went for it to try something different. I could share the sentiment of people holding onto their fold 3s. i just didnt like the rounder edges or the small gap in those leading up to the 5. the 6 closes shut and is squared off. to me, a first time foldie, it is definitely worth it. I dont like the wider phones for some reason. i would rather just get the candybar style versions. anywho, i am still in the honeymoon phase so ill see how it goes during my return period. so far, so good. It isnt okay for samsung to be so comfortable with their current specs lasting over three generations. so i get that. the narrow screen is something to get used to. even coming from my regular s24, however, when i open that screen i am like, dang, i have the best of both worlds for me. a narrow one hander closed, a wide tablet experience open. I also dont have a tablet of any sort myself because i never found the use for one if my phone already did all of that.
@@minusmartin appreciate the feedback and sharing your experience. I'm hoping that you will enjoy everything about the Z Fold 6 and what it can give you day in and day out. Trust me if I wasn't running a channel, I would try to keep one or two devices, for 2 or 3 years. But this is what I do and I enjoy it. Every once in awhile, even though I don't like to do it, I'll send a device back. Been doing this for 8 years and I've only had to send back a few. The goal is to keep them, sell them online or use as trade-ins.
@@myproject13ttt i respect that! i too do something similar with other items. back when the mytouch and windows phones were available, i was buying, trading, selling phones on craigslist lol. i get it.
I went from the Note 20 to the Fold 6. It was underwhelming for me. Disappointed with the very things you mentioned. And I’m not a fan of Smart Select. Unnecessary change omitting the GIF feature. Yeah there’s good lock but still smh
Thank you for your insights. As someone new to the Fold world, my issues are different, but the narrow cover screen is becoming very annoying. I have had the phone for 7 days, and every day I resolve to return it. I like the vivid color, the larger display, the tent fold, and the console fold, but the phone keeps annoying me. it's hard to hold when open , too small to hold with two hands and too big to hold with one hand. doesn't fit well on my wireless phone charger; too finicky, and doesn't fit well in my cup-phone in the car. Suffice it to say, there are a lot of issues. Small battery not good, especially when the Carriers are locking you into a 3 year plan. Suddenly my emojis all show up on my friend's phones as ???. Now they are asking what does the question mark mean? Narrow cover screen means tiny keyboard for text and email. I should stop....Thanks.
Same. My iPhone always works android had to many hiccups. The no voice or sound when I connect to my car was the killer. I need my gps so I’ll take back my $700 lol 🤣
@myproject13ttt yes, I don't think it does. It just writes. I was thinking about returning it as well. I got it from Samsung. Was it an easy process to return it?
@@markmalloy3438 yes it was, I actually requested it, through Support Via Chat. Once you're both in agreement about the return, they'll send you an email, to download the return slip.
I'm keeping my fold 6 because it's fun enough but I'm swapping between my pixel fold and my OnePlus Open (also my baby) as my daily drivers. It's looking like OnePlus and Google at least in America has Samsung's number.
@myproject13ttt still rocking my OPO. I feel like you nailed all that you said on the proverbial head. I remember seeing/reading somewhere that Samsung was looking into the competition in how they were building their foldables..... And still come out with the ZF6?! GTFOH! Imagine if you had the other foldables in play like Honor or Vivo... sheesh!!
So if you knew this before buying.. why did you buy it? Most of us knew unless you were coming from an older fold then there was no reason to purchase...? Ok, it didn't do it for you... sooo what point are you making here?
@@limitlessproductions001 the point is, to buy and share my experience, for those who are considering buying and want answers to questions. Even though my experience will differ, there are key answers to questions, that help the average consumer... Should I buy it or should I skip it. For me there's always the intrigue and the want to find a different experience with the latest and "greatest", on the channel. Through that experience my hope is that it helps someone? As a content creator, the goal is to buy and keep until the next generation, maybe sell? Or use as a trade-in. Rarely do I buy a new smartphone and return it. Been doing this for over 8 years and only a few times, that I've had to return a device. When I bought Z Fold 6, the hope that there was at least one or two areas, that would say it was worth the upgrade. I was hoping, the slightly wider cover display, would work for me. In the end it did not.
@@limitlessproductions001 did you not watch the video everything in the video, is based on my perspective and my opinion and my experience. You have your opinion and we'll leave it at that 🙏
Watching on my Honor magic v2 global .S pen on both screens bigger screen .Bigger battery slim form factor 16 gigs ram on and on .Cheaper and i love it so far
@@victorsaldivar1 the software experience is very polished, with that being said, it can still be overwhelming. Multitasking utilizing the inner display, can be a but messy for me, a dream for others. I enjoy & prefer the OnePlus Open Software ( Oxygen OS ) especially when multitasking, it's a bit more of a minimalist experience. Cover display UI a bit better on the Z Fold 6, because you can utilize more rows to work with, in the display menu settings. The negative to that is... there's not enough cover display, to work with those extra rows., that is why it needs to be wider.
So I was looking at going with the Vivo fold 3 over the Fold 6. With trade in of my fold 4 and the years of reliability I've had with Samsung Iwent with the 6. Everyone is talking about the price increase I paid 1,000 for my fold 6 with trade in, I just couldn't pass it up.
@@boomcazoomthe Z Fold 6 is too new of the device, to be traded in. I don't think it's going to be in that trade-in list over at the Google website, were you would get the next trade-in deals?
Ok, MP13, my gripes with the OPO is the huge camera bump, and when casting to my tv are the black bars are on the side. Another is the way the notifications come in. I paid $500 for my fold 6. I am super excited to get the GPF.
I got the device as well. There is no spen support on the front, still needs to be wider, spen doesn't fit in device. These are all things i wanted. Very annoyed. I will be keeping it becuase i want to always have a fold. Next yr will most likely go for a vivo or xioami fold to be honest. They just doing it better. We Can put oneplus in there as well
dude I agree, if Spectrum didn't give me $1355 for my pixel 8 pro I'd return it too, after getting it in my hand,,, but I'm going to do like others have I'll sell it on Swappa after the new Pixel fold comes out... I got rid of the zfold 5 too... traded for the Oneplus Open...
Great video. I'm waiting for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold hopefully it'll be out before October because that is when we can get off of att and choose any carrier and I will go with either T Mobile or Verizon for my first account. :)
I was hiped for flip 6 but 3 reasons i avoided - the aspect ratio for the little screen on youtube and another action to open up for calls and the fact u can change the screen protection only on them
Hello sir, been awhile. The OPO Apex in that red is 🔥 As of this moment... OPO is 👑 I want to get a foldable, but horror stories of warranty claim hell what keeps me with a candy bar phone and picked up a Samsung Tab tablet. Peace ✌️
@@Simplyyourdevice hey hey hey hey, how's it going my friend it's good to hear from you. I've never had any issues, you're just going to make the jump, my friend 💯👊
I have no idea why Samsung refuses to make major changes to the Fold line of devices the only thing I can think of is these devices aren't major sellers... there have been rumors that OnePlus and other Chinese OEMs are thinking of dropping their Foldable devices. These devices are a hard sell for most regular consumers and with good reason the Galaxy Fold is the most expensive phone Samsung makes but not the best that's a problem.
Hey Anthony it's claude here just a quick note I totally understand why you sent it back.. I'm glad you did this process.. I'm not quite there either about foldable phones s23 ultra for the win! Lol
I don't like to send anything back, but when the experience is a repeat, from the previous generation. The decision that was the right one two weeks later. Thanks for stopping on by my friend 🙏
Only worth it if you took advantage of the incentives, for example google fi is giving 700 plus 550 for my trade which is unbeatable. My out of pocket price would be around 775. I agree it’s def not worth 2k out of pocket.
I cant buy another oneplus product. There customer service is just the worst. Seems the Open has a crack screen issue more then others. So cant deal with that.
@@steves7458 sorry to hear that I have yet to have a bad experience, with OnePlus customer service or any issues with my OnePlus devices. If that was my experience with any smartphone company, I would lose hope, in a brand myself, i definitely get it☹️
It’s to expensive ( Samsung fold 6 ) for what it has. No major improvements on the cameras and other things. I am looking at the Oneplus or the Vivo pro 3 or the Google pixel fold 2 coming out August 13. Samsung disappointed me 👎👎👎 !
As a certain other RU-vidr would say with regard to the similar feel of the z fold 5 and 6, "congratulations, you bought the same phone twice" 😅. That's gotta be real irritating walking around with that feeling when you spend premium dollar for an upgrade... So i get your frustrations.
@@joniljoseph2934 thank you for sharing my frustrations. There's always the hope that when buying a new phone and go through the reviewing process, ( the hope is ) that there's of a lot of new goodness, to share with the viewers. Not a repeat from the previous generation of smartphone🤔
@@IsmelSantiago-v3i to review and keep. To see if there was a difference between the 5 and 6. Trust me I can keep it and make the money off the videos. Keeping it would have made more money for me. Creating content Briggs and funds for the channel. Returning a smartphone doesn't. And then at some point, it's very easy to sell or trade-in for the next device. Which again benefits me.
