Good Morning DJ. As you were reviewing Your Delicious Roast meal. Everything on your plate, was cooked with Love and actual Care. This was Perfection on a plate. And, also a very Modern Restaurant in a very Unique building. Excellent Customer Service and a reall Personal feel to the place. The Brix, i would Love to go and visit it and Treat myself to a Sunday Roast like yours DJ. This Channel is really Awesome. Well Done DJ.☺☺☺💯💯💯💯👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Morning Darren, since discovering your channels last week, I’m so impressed at how many and how consistently you upload videos and they’re top notch quality too. Keep it going.
@@DJsFoodTravels no longer subscribed? That’s strange. Says I’m subbed to both your channels on my side. We no longer make videos as we started our own business a few years back and found it really hard to find the time. Maybe one day we’ll pick it up again, will definitely put some traffic your way!!!!!!
I keep coming back to your videos! They are so relaxing. Pity we'll never go for a meal together as I am too old to travel around and I can't eat that much! But keep on making your great 'entertainment'! So refreshing.
Food Audit is a good channel name. Picking up on the police / government building type audit genre which is very popular (Such as Auditing Britain and Focus Pocus)
Been viewing your vlogs since the beginning..watching you exercise around the empty streets of London in the pandemic..I still watch and enjoy your vlogs..they have changed..but thats the nature of life.. variety..😉👍
Nice i miss the proper English breakfast also miss pie and mash and the Leigh cockle sheds been in AUS 40 years been back a few times love watching your channel keep up the good work
Phenomenal Sunday roast DJ looked incredible. I’ve not heard of beef crackling before, pork yes. Vegetables all looked cooked to perfection and nice gravy although yes could do with being a little thicker. Nice looking beer too👍
After reading some of the rather alarming online reviews I probably would not be tempted to try Brix, so I'm really glad you had a great, positive experience there Darren! 👍👍
@DJ's Food Audits, on the back of this review I popped in for the lunchtime session on Tuesday 20/02/24 as I was in the area. I had a couple of lite[ish] bites - the pork belly and a side of crushed potatoes - which was hugely enjoyable, washed down with a pint of their Haze IPA, super pint of beer.[for those that care, the beer comes up hazy, ie what we old timers [I'm 70] would call cloudy but it was really good]. DEF going back and will do a Sunday lunch sometime soon. My waitress was amazing, introduced herself as Cid - she was the owner!!! and was mightily impressed YOU knew about the site in Brixton and the history of this place in Borough, And CID, if you are reading this, yes I am Tony and I will be coming back [she does Tue/Weds here] to check up on your homework 😁😁🤣🤣. The lad at the bar from Chicago was a good ambassador for your first contact point. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED all round.
@@DJsFoodTravels Hey Darren, thanks for replying. IF it helps any, they are closed all day Mondays and do NOT open for lunch at that site on Fri and Sat, new menu from tomorrow 27/02/24. From memory, it 'feels' like more 'fish and less meat items' on offer but I'll still be back as I stated previously. Keep up the great work, matey!!!
How you doin?! I enjoyed this one Dj because you went into detail on the flavours you were experiencing, rather than just saying "it was full of flavour" etc.. I find that very interesting listening to it, especially because you were once a chef, so you know what you're talking about! Keep it up DJ! (Try Dino's cafe lol, I know I said before)
Great vibe, decor and food. My only criticism would be I would like my veg on the side and the beef, roasties and yorkie on the plate but that's a personal preference. The fact the owners form Brixton makes sense as the beer was from Brixton brewery. Not the cheapest but a very good portion of food, so i think it was value for money
My word, that did indeed look every inch of a damn good Sunday roast dinner. Beef looked superb as did the veg and what about those roast potatoes. I'm north of the border, but next time I'm in old London town I'm having that very same dish as DJ had there. More power to you DJ and keep em coming.
Ooo lovely roast Darren a great detailed food review 😋👍 unlike some comments I enjoyed the views of the surrounding area, but maybe he’s right save the London views for your other channel. Thanks for sharing 😁
Now that looked gorgeous. Quality and quantity work for me👍. Yep the gravy was a bit of a let down but I could have scoffed the lot without gravy. Fab 👍
Always love to look around London, our old buildings are beautiful, but, shoot me down if you must but i think that all of the new ones are hideous. The Shard is the ugliest, ruins the skyline completely.Lunch looked delicious.I do quite good yorkshires but the one on your plate looked amazing.😊
That beef looks perfect to me and so does the rest of the dinner but I do agree about the gravy being a bit too thin. We have got roast British lamb today. 😊
Thank you Darren I thoroughly enjoy your food audits and look forward to seeing the new channel dedicated to this particular topic. I agree with your choice for the best breakfast cafe in 2023 and if he agrees would love to see you do an on camera interview with Paul because he sounds like quite a character from what you have said. I am annoyed with myself for not going to the Borough Market when I was in London some years ago, in fact, I didn't even know there was such a market as I would loved to have tried the Ginger Pig because their Sausage Rolls looks heavenly, the same for the Scotchs Eggs. Look forward to seeing more Food Audits. 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Darren it looked an amazing place. Cheap for London prices. Gravy did look a little thin. Next time you go take your son Luke with you it’s been a while since he was on your vlogs
Looks a beaut that, DJ! Would also prefer a thicker gravy myself too but I'm northern 😂 I have been subbed for a while (to your original channel) and it always makes me feel good seeing you and other youtubers going out to eat on their own. I've been (mostly) single for nearly 3 years and sometimes get funny looks and comments when I say I've been out to eat on my own... so what?! I like nice food and my friends/family aren't always free so why should I miss out!
Hi Darren, that roast looked absolutely amazing. Definitely Off The Charts, I would love to try it. On a personal note, could I ask you a really big favour. When you are reviewing restaurants, could you please film the front of the restaurant. Funny question I know, but I am a wheelchair user. By filming the front of the restaurant, I can see if the place is wheelchair accessible. I have tried asking this question when I book a table. Sometimes the attitude changes, almost as though they don’t want you in the restaurant. If you can film the front, I would be so grateful, thanks Darren
Great video, I actually liked the brief tour around, I work regularly just across the river near Cannon Street, but I rarely go south of the river! 🤷🏼♂️. Thanks for showing the rest of the menu as well, some great other stuff to try as well
Food is probably good but I get so fed up with getting meals piled up in a heap so you can’t cut anything. Bigger plates needed. That’s my old stamping ground from when I first started work just across Southwark St in what was St Christopher House. My word has that area changed!!!
Oh yum a Sunday Roast!! Well as you were pouring the gravy I said out loud oh no the gravy is a tad thin but as long as it’s tasty it’s fine by me! Love when they give those vegetables extra tlc too. Looked delicious although I still reckon your very first roast sitting on a bar stool with Luke that time might just have pipped it but only just! Outstanding roast? … outstanding video too DJ … nearly 5000 subs … well done … pure quality as always! 🥩🥔🥬🥕🍺🍽️🏢
Thanks for another great looking recommendation - Blacklock and City Spice are favourites of mine and my husband because of your reviews. Can’t wait to try this place!
Hi Darren the Sunday lunch looked delicious and the restaurant looks amazing it was well worth the visit for food so nice ,it’s good to eat in an independent restaurant there’s so many chains today
Ok so clearly I need to go to Brix for my Sunday Roast fix when in London. Looked amazing!!! I agree the gravy was a tad thin but as long as it tasted good thats the main thing. It was a huge portion too. Sadly there is no way I could finish it but I'd definitely be happy to try. Absolutely loving the new channel. Can't wait to see where you go next. You seem to find all these amazing places that are off the radar. Keep up the great work!! 😁💙
Love your vlogs, the caractorof the area ,history, music that relexs me ,your vlogs are my littel get away ,a humble whom is charming man just being himself .class darren you are theres no faking that .❤🇦🇺🥂
Thanks Darren, looked a good roast, would have liked to see more of it, maybe place the camera a bit further away???love the area, and the Shard, my fave building, you caught me on the boat too😆😆
That looks amazing for a Sunday roast but the gravy looked a bit thin + the fact there could have served it on a bigger plate 🍽️I lo thick gravy but thanks DJ 😋👍🥩🍽️🥔🫛🥕
Hey Darren, it’s amazing how much pleasure I had watching you eat that roast!😂😂 I do agree that the gravy should’ve been thicker. And I would’ve had the pork, as I don’t eat beef. Not because I don’t like it but it upsets my stomach! But it looked delicious anyway. Keep up the good work. 😀
Gawd, I feel starving now after watching you devour that marvellous-looking roast. I swear I could have sculled that gravy, on the thin side or not. Yep, that was a Sunday star alright.
I love watching these food reviews of yours DJ... In fact, do you know what, i actually turn the volume OFF because because your facial expressions alone says it all!! 😅😊 All the restaurants you go to are Quality and i think thats what makes this new channel so attractive for the viewer at home. This new place looked quality allround: lovely unique decor; excellent food; great ambience;polite and attentive staff. You're helping open up a whole new world not just for foodies but for anybody who just appreciates great entertainment.
Oh you are naughty, I managed a Peabody estate there for 14 years so know this place well. To be honest, never heard of Brix. Naughty cos I want to go there NOW lol. Also because of the way you describe the food. That place looks off the scale.. love a decent roast and that's great value.
It looked well balanced and the meat was absolutely the way I like it. I must be one of the only people who doesn’t care for gravy… so overall, I trust your judgement. I also like you give a context to the setting. Twenty three quid…..excellent.
What a beautiful city Darren. As for the food 😮 this is why I'd never go vegetarian. Wish I was closer, I'd be in for the pork belly. That's my favourite 😊 looked absolutely delicious ❤
