After one Year of Ownership, I finally do a review of my daily driver. My 2013 Chevy Caprice PPV. This was a former cop car that shares the same platform as the Pontiac G8 GT and Chevy SS. With a 6.0 Liter V8 LS motor!
You've got terminals for jump starting the car up front as well. When you opened the bonnet they were on your right side of the engine compartment. The positive terminal has a red plastic cover over it and the negative is bolted to the guard right near it with no cover.
In Australia k this was sold as a luxury car. Why not go online and get the parts from EBay or online (Australian) parts breaker, like the side markers on your fenders in Australia are actually LED indicator repeaters. Get the luxury leather seats, the proper center console & carpets.
To open the back doors from the inside and the manual lock just takeoff the door panel in and connect the cables it’s all there in the back windows to go up and down is a trap door under the passenger seat or two different connections just swap them out
Mistake people make modding these cars (or most cars in general) is that they make them too loud. Louder you make the car, less you drive it, just the way it works out. Getting cops to not turn their head is a better goal, having a drone on the highway and having to eggshell it out of stop lights for fear there is a cop somewhere gets really annoying. Sure you can make a cool youtube video, thats about it. Been there done that myself... i like quiet sleepers now, they get driven. Also keep in mind more cam = less MPG. Would rather have better mpg myself and 400 whp then try to get every HP out of it.
Awesome man. I feel like with that car, anything you do to it, can exponentially add value. I’m thinking about buying one of these. Way cool muscle car. Rare too. I think these will go up in value soon
On My VF L88 2015 Calais V. I fitted a Harrop Cold air intake and 1 3/4 inch extractors ceramic coated along with oxygen sensor extensions, high flow cats and dual 2.5 inch pipes. Updated software (for the cats). every time I put the foot down it just roars to life and as a 70 YO I just have a big grin. Love it.
It will last 2-300k miles, no problem. all the parts are available, no problems we have all the parts available, we build solid cars, if not they do not last in Australia
I have 2011 P7B Vic. Bought it with 62k now at 327k Most reliable car I have owned. Panther platform rocks. I wouldn’t mind owning one of these caprices too.
Should put the original intake back on it doesnt effect the power you can completely remove the filter makes no difference maf tunes it out. Just adds a vacuum noise. Paper filter comes on all cars hellcats 1600hp bugati everything. Oiled gauze doesnt filter enough sand and dirt ends up inside oil and valve / Ring seals
The appeal of this car is that it's a rare police car. The last thing I would do is make it a non-police car with big engine mods and the like. And those generic rims are awful. The originals were perfect for the car. People don't appreciate good cars.
If this was my car I would definitely put those steel cop car wheels back on it with the center hub caps,,,but you can have wider steel wheels made with those same hub caps,, with some drag radials I would lower but with the steel wheels,,, those would look so much better than what you put on it,,this car would look menacing with some wider steel cop car type wheels lowered,,,you took the look away 😮
Did u buy yours from a guy in coco Beach? That's where I bought mine, looks like the same paint. Get a Bluetooth transmitter plugs in the lighter easy peezy and very cheap
mate get your self some side led turn signals /side markers as in australian cars that is where we have turn signals..look good too n cheap also as for ur consol plastics are the same as the ve commodore cheap as
Because they’re worth every penny if you’ve ever driven a hood one then you know. I got one here in ga bone stock with 54k mi and I can smoke any car on the road 95% of the time
