REVERSE BULLET HELL, WITH MINING
Kill bugs, upgrade your gear, and delve ever deeper into the lethal caves of Hoxxes. Delve deep, Miner! Once the Drop Pod releases you into the oppressive darkness, you are on your own. Sometimes when you say "Movement Speed" I hear "Wolfman's Feet" and, now, I really want them to change the name of the upgrade to that.

The weapon has a drone value that gets multiplied, +1 drone on some drones gives you 2 drones instead, on the swarm it gives you 4 drones. +4 drones on the swarm grenade increases the drones you spawn per grenade from 8 to 24. Triple split makes it spawn 72. High reload + lifetime means you have like 300 drones active at any moment, no wonder your PC gets cooked

seems like the drone amount gets multiplied by 3, you can see at the start 1:48 its (2x3) 6 drones, when he gets +1 drones 21:52 (3x3) they become 9, when he gets +3 drones 34:52 (6x3) they are 18

This was mostly a player stats build for the first half, I mean being player level 49 and having all four weapons still in the single digit level is ridiculous...

Swarm grenade, you're throwing 3 grenades that split into 3 each, so 9 grenades at 8 drones a piece.

You should think swarm grenade like, you throw a grenade and it constructs a turret where it lands. This turret (swarm unit) will attack units in range, do nothing if nothing in range. Problematic stuff that confuses us is that "turrets" die animation which is a bunch of drones returning to character. Also the reason why we see some drones returning to character at start of a stage is because game pre creates some units in map for loading. It creates the unit and kills it. What u see is the turrets death animation.

I think the "drones" stat for the drone grenade are the targets, the animation shows a lot of drones but they only target/damage a couple of enemies.

@@SilvaDreams Is that why they don't have an overclock to explode instead of coming back to the player? Also sidenote, it's kinda weird that they come back at all, lol. Like it doesn't really make sense (not like you can put them back in the grenade), and they don't come back in normal deep rock even though the turrets do

@@squiddler7731 because your suppose to use the shock fence, stubby or thunder-bird to get a final overclock that makes those weapons shoot constructs for explosions. this grenade is arguably most important weapon for engineer but it is so bugged that it makes engineer almost unplayable with its own weapons. They don't seem to care either because they added a bunch overclock making those explosive contruct overclock harder to get.

My swarm grenades froze my PC when I did an endless glitch mode. This was nothing compared lol. I was probably 200+ lvls in and it was all fine until I got into the drop pod for the next lvl. The drones took forever to catch up to the pod to start on the next lvl and the problems started then

Going from 2 drones to 3 means that of the 8 drones that appear, 3 of them attack instead of just 2. This way only 5 drones are idling in a circle instead of the normal 6. /s

35:17 Hat glaub ich was mit dem Pathing zu tun, also wie der Weg jeder Drone zum Character berechnet und fürs Rendering vorbereitet wird. Und diese Funktion ist scheinbar sehr inperformant programmiert. Aber genau könnte man es erst nach ner Codeanalyse sagen, just guessing ☺️

Yeah, one of the devs already told me that the swarm grenade drones use the same pathing/ return logic as the other drone weapons with the difference that you only have like 3 to 6 drones each with those compared to like 72 here with the swarm grenade. The code was never designed to handle this many units. Hopefully we'll see some improvement with the next patch

There's really nothing about the shredder swarm grenade that makes any sense, so it's very hard to evaluate other than "confusing and probably bad". The description of what it does, and the number of drones vs. number of grenades is very unclear, and add to that the visual display confusion - it looks like they're doing nothing, but since the visuals appear to be bugged it's hard to say if what you're seeing is actually what they're doing. I don't get why they don't simply behave the same as the viper drone - seek out enemy and circle it doing damage until lifetime expires.
