Where does this belief that a "strange man" in a space where a girl is deems the situation dangerous period? Trans people/allies don't claim that you can change all aspects of biological sex. Most trans women do have XY chromosomes and most trans men do have XX chromosomes. Tell me a biological fact that you think we'll deny. I'll tell you a biological fact: there are many intersex people who reach adolescence or even adulthood without knowing they're intersex. Someone could live their whole childhood as one gender despite having the chromosomal phenotype typically associated with the other sex. It's not written into the fabric of the universe that "gender and sex are distinct" but the fact that a genetic test (something we didn't even know how to do for over 99% of our existence as humans) is required to discover someone's "actual" biological sex makes it pretty ridiculous in my opinion to hold onto the zealous belief that gendered language, beliefs, expectations, etc. are just about biological fact.

I think the issue is that trans women are at risk in male prisons of abuse, and putting biological males into female prisons, puts the biological females at risk. Given that biological males predominantly cause most violent crime against people, especially women, the issue is extremely difficult to resolve. Unless there was a separate prison system for people who are at some stage of transitioning then I can’t see a resolution. What I find interesting is the lack of information presented on where biological females who transition to a man end up. Where do they want to go, male or female prisons. And what about non binary. I don’t think any sensible person would ever want to make decisions on these, because you can’t please all of the people all of the time.

I saw a youtube by a social worker who said that her group in training were told at least 2 people in that group statistically were there only because they would be able to access vulnerable children. It's something we should all bear in mind, predators will seek out situations where they will be trusted with children. Safeguarding above everything else. The Scouts situation Maya described I remember very well. Their policy was (is) to allow self identification so that boys or men would be allowed to sleep in the same accomodation as girls, and to not inform the parents that this would be happening.

What I find interesting is that all these interviews are with people who say “a woman is a woman.” And that’s it. Maybe this is more about the laws in the UK and setting precedence there. Most political arguments, even hot-button "culture wars" stuff, both sides generally agree on all the hard facts, data and definitions, with relatively few exceptions- Both "pro life" and "pro choice" sides generally accept the stats about abortion, and they may argue the technicalities of this or that word's definition, but most terms, they agree on the definitions, they just differ on the ETHICS of abortion, and what serves society better, between banning vs allowing abortion. Same with issues like gun control, or climate change; Both sides generally agree on the facts and definitions, but differ over ETHICS, and PREDICTED RESULTS of this or that policy. But with "gender", for the only time I've seen, the very CONCEPT of "facts" and "truth" is up for grabs; If "a woman" is just ANYONE, as long that person just DECLARES themselves "a woman", and the objective, physical evidence (ie biological sex) isn't just irrelevant, but is actually "unacceptable bigotry" to even mention, then WE HAVE NO concept of "truth", anymore. At least not in the old "that which agrees with physical reality" sense of "truth". If my FEELINGS can outweigh objective physical reality, about """the truth""" of whether I'm "a man" or "a woman" (or maybe even both, or neither) then why can't my feelings outweigh ANY OTHER physical reality?!? If I was born in 1965, but I really really really really FEEL LIKE I'm "REALLY a toddler", then how is that any less """the truth""", than a biological man who FEELS LIKE he's "REALLY a woman"?!? The basic concepts of "truth", and "facts", and empirical evidence, are the foundation for ALL law, ALL science, ALL politics. So if we re-define "truth", to NO LONGER mean "that which agrees with the physical evidence", and replace that with "whatever literally anyone really FEELS to be true, REGARDLESS of the verifiable evidence", then we destroy ALL of law, science, etc.

The term tends to be used now to also mean an irrational hatred. For example, the killers of Matthew Sheppard did it out of homophobia.

As an HR person for 25 years, let me explain. 1) HR departments "never" run businesses. They work for the business to make stuff legal..... poor managers often blame HR. Hence the misconception. 2) HR departments have "never" been for the employees and never claim to be for emotional. This is another misconception. What they often do is stop the excesses of managers overstepping Employment Law and putting the business at risk. A good HR team, enables a business and ensures employees are treated as per Employment Law.....

There is one thing I don't understand. Before transgender people were saying sex and gender were different. That went over my head but I could conceptualize there was two separate things. But now the lines are all blurry and O understand even less

To my knowledge, the word gender wasn't even used in any medical papers or really any circulation until the 1960s, and there is a very disturbing story behind that. Regardless if they have different meanings, then the word gender should only be used when referring to someone who is suffering with a mental condition. But I am positive it has nothing to do with the medical condition itself, but more like wearing your colors, throwing up your gang signs etc. I mean really think about it. If they can get you to say some women have a penis, then they can get you to say anything.

She DEFINITELY was not speaking against it "a decade" before KJK. In fact, Julie Bindel has and might still refer to some men as "she," and has supported (not opposed) accepting into women's circles some men who call themselves women, which the women of orgs like Women's Place UK, etc, did. And Bindel has been horrible to KJK and frequently tries to tear her down--KJK talks about it, it's on X. So Maya is apparently taking Bindel's side. There's a big split between the women who call themselves "leftist feminists" (Bindel and others) and other women who they accuse of "working with the right" because they let ANYONE come to events such as KJK's Let Women Speak--including "conservative" women. They want KJK to pre-screen & ban non-leftists, apparently. I know all the "inside baseball" on this topic and all the players as I do this work full time--I'm an LGB activist. If you listen to Maya, she's relatively new to all of this, as even Helen Joyce admits about herself, whereas some women have been involved in deconstructing & fighting tran$genderism for years, some for decades. Maya did a great thing, Helen wrote a good book, Bindel does good stuff on other subjects, but they are all relatively new to addressing these topics.

Having said that if Gods point of view matters to you in this and that is what gets you and your wife on board to stand up to these trans women that are trying to take away the identity of roughly half the world's population then I am all for it. Basically we are addressing this major issue from different perspectives and I gladly accept and embrace those differences, unlike these radical trans women that have only one perspective and will raze down anyone that stands in their way. @tela1653 There is zero ambiguity in what I wrote. Another issue that has absolutely no ambiguity is the fact there are only two genders created by God. That's not open to interpretation, and that is my point. My family will not sign documents stating otherwise. We will not "affirm" a dilutional individuals lie either. When confronted in the work place, my family respectfully declines to affirm a lie and as such have found that our freedom to believe as we wish has been targeted bc we won't call someone by the gender they claim they feel that particular day. It's beyond common sense not to mention what our Creator has stated is actually the case. Let me not confuse you. We will stand on the principle of there being two genders and those who seek to strong arm or manipulate me or my family to state otherwise are going to be sorely disappointed, but we will not disappoint God. In the US, 1 in 6 women have suffered rape or attempted rape, in the UK, 1 in 4 women have suffered sexual assault of some kind. In my country, South Africa, it is estimated that 40 percent of women will be raped or sexually assaulted in their lifetime. Women feel especially vulnerable in situations where they are not clothed completely ie bathrooms and change rooms. So with the above stats, WHY SHOULD WOMEN HAVE TO PUT UP WITH MEN IN THESE SPACES, regardless of how they identify?? Why should women feeling safer be less important than a man's feelings being hurt for not being allowed access to women's facilities? When does trans rights supercede womens rights, and WHY should they? It is well known that certain jobs attract predators because they are considered "trustworthy" positions and I am certain that there are predators using the "I identify as a woman" thing to be able to get into places they would not be allowed as men because predators are very clever at using whatever tactics they need to to get what they want

It's not even about protecting tr@ns women. It's about not hurting their feelings. The safety of women is literally less important that the feelies of men in dresses.

One theory I've heard is that it's a sex thing. The ultimate fantasy if you will. Hell, I know MANY straight men that will talk about "how fun it would be to have tits" and "if they were a girl they'd wear skimpy outfits and sleep around". Those are just guys....so on some level the fantasy must be there since it seems to be pretty common.

It's interesting to me that many trans or trans-activists I know never define womanhood by its roles, responsibilities or real-life challenges.... it's largely based on an abstract feeling mixed with "what women look like". I've yet to meet someone from that camp who has ALSO adopted non-physical or non-emotional qualities of women.

It mystifies me too. It possibly boils down to one of two things (though this is a bit of an immediate reaction and I could take a longer, harder look at if if I had the time): A. It is a fetishistic thing ie dressing as 'their version' of a woman (how often do we see short skirts, low cut tops, stockings and high heels and masses of make-up or worse - little girl clothing?) will give them a sexual kick. As it's become more acceptable, it's become more prevalent. B. In the west, men see women as gaining more power and influence. For some men, this is a problem. As being 'trans' has gained support, a few men have found a new way to exert their authority; insisting we (actual women) treat them as women; insisting we allow them into our spaces/sports etc; labelling us with derogatory names like terf and bigot if we refuse to comply; trying to gaslight us with claims like they go through female physiology such as periods so they are therefore the same as us. They can now infiltrate (and so influence) areas that were once specifically dedicated to the female sex.
