i tried that once, doing some daily speed run (recorded for everything that happened in that day) and put in my bio SIMPLY do not get attached to them and only have one favourite, and though it was sad but made me a little happier, only one pup was born. little Bear survived and turned out to be a runt with -1 stats on everything i think. it was cute but hard, but also quite nice to do. NO PUPS WERE KILLED TOO :D (i got a lower diversity mate - one star to be exact)

oh and the fact this is the 3rd or 4th time im watching this, but it was good.

the first time i watched this, it actually scared me what they did. this is the 3rd or 4th time im watching this video now, it doesn’t stress me much anymore. i used to be worried if a pup in my own game got around 50% hunger, and a couple days ago i starved my mate and pup to get him to 20 pounds. little Bear was alone, but grew fast enough. only took 2 days :D i found out Bear was Chocosnout coat, a runt and -1 every stat i think.. oh god. now the laptop they were on had dog piss on it because my dog is stupid like that, and the laptop came up with “No Bootable Device” and my family had to get someone to check it in a little while.. i lost my wolves AGAIN because my dog :D anyway Bear is okay, i just ran to feed him before i made him an adult.

its just the game is so realistic that it feels like a real pup is dying

It depends on your genetics like if you have a light coat coloration it is possible to get a pure white pup, but it is really rare. I got the pure white pup once since I had a mate with an all white coat.

honestly it depends how much you play, you can possibly even finish the game within a day. It just matters when you start playing and how long you start playing. It took me 2 days in a half to finish a game of mine

For me it takes only 1 day depending on the time and how far ive gotten.

Alright so I finished the game, and I ended at nearly 11 hours.

while sleeping, you can double tap "i" to hide/unhide your HUD. The second press should reveal the HUD, though this could be a glitch and be patched in later updates.

An easier way to do it is too get a mate that has the opposite coat color as you like if your grey genetics get a four star black genetics wolf and it increases your odds a lot

Bruh it’s a SPEEDRUN. The objective is to finish the litter ASAP, and the more pups there are the longer it is to raise them. They chose to keep the white pup because it’s a unique coat color for pups.

Because the mate will still take the food given the chance, and they won't always just take chunks to eat, they'll eat straight from the carcass. With the mate, the food will deplete faster. They only needed to hunt once, so needing the mate isn't a thing anymore. The carcass didn't disappear at all, and lasted right till the end with just a few mouthfuls left. That wouldn't be a thing if the mate was there, and it'd make the speedrun last so much longer.

@@CharcoalRiver i mean yeah that’s true but if ya really wanna keep the mate and it’s on easy mode, then perhaps a bull moose? I mean, it lasted for me, my mate, and my 5 pups for the majority of my run and was probably near 1/4 left.

​@@shorkbot Even if it was on easy mode, the point is to get it done fast, the whole point of a speedrun. Killing a bull elk is easier and faster than a bull moose. Having only one pup means you dont have to focus on all of them, and just one.

This was from an older version of the game. There are no longer pure white pups in this game :(

This is speedrun. They will benefit with only one pup. Less pups= less food. Less food=Less hunting. Less hunting=less time wasted.

Boi the entire point of speedruns *is* to break the way the game is intended to be played, if they just played how you were supposed to it wouldn’t be a speedrun in the first place

Forgot to add: Que all the %glitch categories in other games as an example of what I mean. Not cheesing the game is an optional difficulty to speedrunning, not something baked into it’s foundation

Breaking the games goal or not, the definition of a speed run is to complete the game as fast as possible, not to stay loyal to the goal. Multiple speed runs 8 hear of use glitches that weren't intended as well.

The mate eats till full food, and usually finishes the carcass before the player gets a bite. That's why.

Its a speedrun- if they let all of the pups live, it would ruin the purpose. The pups would slow it down significantly.

This is a speedrun, not a normal run. Instead of their goal being to keep all pups alive its to finish the game as fast as possible! Its much easier and faster to raise one pup than 7! Hope this helps! :D
