It was 50 years ago (on February 9th, 1964), during the Beatles' legendary first appearance on the American "Ed Sullivan Show" back in 1964, when there have been no major crimes reported in New York City between 8 - 9 pm, cause even the criminals seemed to join the estimated 73,700,000 viewers in 23,240,000 homes in the United States.
Exactly 50 years later they are still likely to be the most influential band that has ever existed. Without them, music wouldn't be the same and a whole lot of great bands just wouldn't exist.
Here is our take on one of the songs they performed at that show back then - "I Saw Her Standing There". Filmed during our performance at the BaBü in Wolkersdorf (Austria) on March 7th, 2013. It was a beautiful warm night in spring!

I am 67, and this was my very first Beatles song at 5 years old! I was introduced to this music by a slightly older neighbor kid... I was hooked. The Beatles entered my blood and stayed there ever since!

I'm SPEECHLESS, as a true Beatle's fan, starting with the great music they did with Tony Sheridan way back in '61; this is in my humble opinion , the BEST I've ever heard of Beatle's music by someone other than the Fab 4 themselves. Dear Twins, have U done or can U do The Saints and My Bonnie ?! :-)

What's Mona doing on the Rickenbacker? It's different from what John does, is she playing along with the bass line? Either way, it sounds great!

+Aaron Currie john played only a little portion on the studio recording. During the solo when they hit the B note that's when John does the bass line on his guitar.

Some background if I might. I'm almost 67 and I've spent a whole lot of years singing around campfires as a singer/storyteller in the Scottsdale, Arizona area. I was in my family living room the night Ed Sullivan introduced the Beatles to America for the first time. Discovering you gals today and listening to you has put a bit of a hop back into this rather worn out heart of mine. Thank you.

Just superb, you girls are so good. One slight criticism is that you omitted the essential 1-2-3-4 at the beginning. The guitar solo was as if George himself was playing it so great credit to Lisa. Thanks girls for keeping great music alive.

Ive sung these songs and performed them for many years. Ive seen a ton of Beatle tribute bands and even had one myself, but the zest and vigor that The MonaLisa Twins give the songs are like nobody else. They dont change the songs they just are great at doing them. Maybe its the female twist thats it. I really dont know but what i do know is that if they came to America on tour i would definitely go see them. Maybe with the following i see theyre getting to their vids thats something they should consider. Cheers ladies !!

Excellent description... it's impossible to underestimate that moment in history... not that I was around, but I have a mother-in-law that made it to the Washington Coliseum 50 years ago tomorrow (her account of the concert, "nothing but screaming"). So, I suppose you can consider yourselves lucky that thousands of shrieking girls don't show up at your gigs and chase you home. Hey, kind of a lil' makeshift Cavern Club you found there, huh... Well, fantastic rendition! ...mirroring the youthful energy of the early Beatles, I dug the high-octane performance... and that blistering lead guitar sounded amazing. Rock on...

+Paul Kiss Looks to me like Mona is playing Paul's bassline and the bassist is just doing a 12-bar riff. In his defense, Paul wrote guitar parts for bass.

Of course it's not The Beatles, the boys accidentally almost to death were tortured to death in Hamburg. With rock'n'roll, humanity has suffered for 25 years to become what we hear and feel. You're more musical, but it's not the Beatles. In the source there were more errors in performance, but was a gust of violent revolt and mischief.
