Yes what Andy did before and after was horrible but honestly I found them just as bad in that scene. I mean I get it they’re trying to help but did they seriously think Andy would listen? I mean come on both of them, especially plop are like the last people on the planet, that he’d listen to. On top Andy did tell them to leave and maybe if they actually did that maybe he wouldn’t of done what he did later in the episode. Again, I’m not saying Andy’s justified because he’s not but two wrongs don’t make a right…

The writers could have contrived any number of practical or relatable reasons for Andy to be away from the office for three months. But instead they thought "You know what? Let's just undo all the character development we've been accumulating around this guy who's been a fixture for almost the entire series." Way to run that ship aground.

The build up to Andy Getting together with Erin took lots of time. Then it was so sweet when they finally got together. It was totally ruined, inexplicably by Erin announcing she was now dating Gabe in S7E1, Nepotism. That relationship was ‘uncomfortable’ throughout. When it became clear she wanted Andy back, he handled it so poorly😮

Well she shouldn't have left him in the first place, and for Gabe of all people. Then being childish and trying to make him jealous with Dwight, all the characters had arcs, and let's not pretend Erin was innocent in any of this.

Andy is the best character in the show that got ruined by the writing! Him and Erin are arguably up there with Michael/Holy and Jim/Pam as a couple, perfect match and amazing characters. If the writers did one thing wrong with the show, it was destroying Andy and his relationship, it hurts me more than seeing Michael leave...

I personally think the writing was supposed to display that their age gap was more significant than perhaps either one of them realized. Erin needed someone younger and fun (Pete), and Andy is a creepy weirdo who doesn't deserve a sweetheart like her in the first place.

I love the job actors did on this series but I think I'll never truly understand what has been done with Andy. At the moment he started to feel like part of the office to me, writers suddenly decided to make him even worse. I know people reactions to life events are various but man, when Andy became the manager there was not much of a plot to follow, I always finish the last season mostly for Angela and Dwight's part of the story. Now, let's take a minute and appreciate how smoothly Ed Helms acted, wow!

4:15 is such bad writing. A: Did you mean a real date? E: No. Also E one second later: I though it was a real date. There's miscommunication and then there's writing your characters with a brain tumor and no short term memory. Erin's one of the few characters in TV history that *started* Flanderized.

What did Erin and plop think was going to happen when they told Andy to move on? I’m not saying they deserved what happened after but still they just expecting it to go like “hey Andy we get it you’re upset, but just gotta move on” “ oh wow I never thought of that. Good idea”. Yes he does need to move on but that’s not how you do it as Andy said later, you can't just shut it down peoples throats. I’m not saying Andy did nothing wrong because no, he absolutely did a lot wrong but still that scene just made plop and even Erin come across as unlikable themselves at least for me. Again I just found the buildup of Andy and Erin and then ultimately leading to nothing so frustrating…
