In extreme heat, it is difficult to keep food fresh. It will definitely go bad in a couple of hours. This is especially important for those who take lunches with them to work or are going on a picnic. A wrapped sandwich and a bottle of cold water will be perfectly stored in a special cooler bag.
Thermal bags are sold in large stores. Last year in July we carried frozen meat on a train like this for two days and delivered it. We wrapped everything in foil and placed cold accumulators on the sides of the bag. But we went on an excursion, took some snacks with us, our food spoiled in a couple of hours, we threw everything away.
Making a handbag for the heat is not difficult at all. The main material for this will be construction insulation with foil; it will prevent hot air from penetrating inside and will maintain coolness.
Master Class:
1) I prepared a fabric measuring 40x55 cm. I have a thin raincoat fabric from a tracksuit. I added the same size padding polyester and quilting.
2) I set aside 3 cm from each corner, these are marks for the handles, for them I took a ribbon belt 56 cm long.
3) I sewed the handles to the fabric 10 cm in length.
4) I attached a zipper to the short sides (40 cm), and pulled out the tab for convenience.
5) Izolon 40x55 cm was placed on the blank with foil to the front side of the bag and stitched where the zipper was. Turned it inside out. I laid fixing lines on the front side.
6) Fold the bag with the foil on top so that the zipper is in the middle and stitch the sides.
7) I cut out 6 x 6 cm squares in the corners and covered the remaining seam with a strip of fabric.
8) I connected the cut out squares and stitched them to create corners.
9) I turned the bag inside out, it holds its rectangular shape perfectly and does not wrinkle.
This year we are going to visit again and take this handbag with us. Sandwiches and water will remain chilled and fresh.
