Why should Igbo people bring their wealth to develop "our" land? Try and see what will happen to you. You will pay off the chief of the town, the elders, the youth and then the police, the military, lawyers and judges. They will milk you dry. Igbo people better learn how to play politics and develop their land with Nigeria money.
@@seymorgorde it's not until you play dirty in politics that your place will be developed. That's why we put people that are not competent to pilot Nigeria n we cry fouls then other countries don't take us seriously . Every state is supposed to get it's allocation without being bias but their greed won't let them because you didn't vote for them, forgetting that you can't be everyone's choice.
there’s no need to put all the eggs in one basket, all of nigeria can and needs to be developed, not just “our” region. nigeria is a vast market full of commercial potential for igbos, you ppl think too small
In London there’s a port along the river Thames Essex area, so if there’s the will by the govt to establish a port in this location it’s possible. It doesn’t have to be large vessels but smaller vessels like the ones I see along the river Thames can be be useful for trade & commerce. Thank you for taking the time to cover this. Keep up the good work❤
Wow! This is very important information. I just hope all the people who have condemned this video for showing what they called "puddle of water" or "local river" that cannot be used as sea port can read this and gain serious knowledge. Thanks again.
Wow, that's my place. Am from Ihudim in Ihiala and this Uras is at the back of my house. Though I have not heard this great news about the Uras. I wil go into research about the Uras. Thank you for the info. Igbo land is blessed and it's high time we brought all our investments to the Biafra land because the zoo government can not help us in any way
I'm from Ihiala, though I grew up elsewhere in Nigeria. This video evokes mixed feelings of shame, sadness, but also of joy! How am I only just knowing about this seaport now? And they say we're landlocked??? 🤦🏽♂️ Casually came across an article today on New Telegraph NG, and on further research, stumbled on your video. Wow! Great job for this content, Sir 👏🏽
It's no wonder the Ihiala area has so much palm trees everywhere. Also, this should educate people who think the whole of the southeast is landlocked. It's not, clearly an issue of negligence.
It’s not negligence but a deep seated hatred for the ndi Igbo after the Biafran war and a long term conspiracy to keep the region economically strangulated.
I can tell you that if North had an access to the sea like the East they would have gotten their Seaport long time ago. Imagine how they are even searching for oil in the North .
They have the political power to determined the economic trajectory of the country. This is the marginalisation the east is talking about not political appointments.
@@Henry-hj1gl Where is discrimination coming from? If the so called Northerners have the power they probably would have dredged a bigger river in River Niger all the way to Abuja and build a seaport. After all, Abuja is the nation’s capital. Your reasoning is so colloquial and to tribal.
You can imagine lagos 60 miles off the Atlantic ocean and these is just 18 miles yet at the kind shorter distance with the whole international market in the Eastern legion lagos is where every goods comes from these goes along way for us in the Eastern part of Nigeria espescially in Anambra state that we have not gotten a government that will look inwards to discover the hidden treasures of the state and partner with international firm who are ever ready to develop and showcase the state to the global market.
@@alveem7295 He is an ignorant and not well informed that the port in Warri is just few kilometers to Onitsha and the port in Port Harcourt is also very close to most Ibo States. Must Ibo states have a seaport? Maybe if we build one for the Ibos, the Hausa should ask for one too. There are four ports on the east coast. One in Warri, two in River State(Onne port and Port Harcourt) and one in Calabar. Nobody forced your people to use Lagos port.
Yes, many people never knew this too. But if you check online you'll see that people had written about this place many years ago just that this video helped to bring it to the knowledge of a lot of persons today. Some people who made comments on this video say it is fake, it is not seaport, it is river port, that the presenter does not know the meaning of sea. What I'm saying is, there was a Seaport in Oseakwa in the 19th and early 20th century used for palm oil trade and even slave trade. Even if it's a river port, the fact is that there was a Port in Oseakwa which means Southeast is not landlocked as some people claim. It's just history being projected to the public.
So south east now has many links to the Atlantic Ocean not interlocked again chai the lies of Nigeria has no end , Alaigbo has everything that can make it a great nation let’s fight for Biafra once and for all.
He did not do a great job, if you are to trace a river, use a boat and ride of the river to see if it easy to navigate with an ocean going vessels. Not all river should be dredge in East. Dredging destroys the ecosystem of the river. Instead advise investors to build leisure centres along the bank of the river such as restaurants and bars, golf course, hotels and all resorts of entertainment systems. Boat rides through the river should be encouraged and jet ski for tourism. It will bring in fun seekers to the area, and employ the youths.
Thank you so much bro, this is my village, my mum still farm across that bridge, I don't miss going village every December to swim in ulasi, I hope government remember and beautify the village we have alot of resources there and some are doing illegal mining of crude oil there too
I learnt that there’s another big one in Ebonyi state which tributary empties into the Atlantic Ocean through Cross River. Please investigate that too.
This is fantastic, really interesting and informative at the same time. Thank you for the effort and time taken to bring this important part of history to us.
thank u very much for this great history u showed us but some foolish people here refuse to understand that Biafra is the only solution that can bring back this port to work again talking of dead Nigeria govment that is chronic enemies of Southerners to make it work again
Ndi'Igbo, the great Igbo Hebrews have bluntly refused to identify with whom they 're. Igbos political, economic and social 're queueing behind either the zoo islamic terrorist government in Aso Rock Abuja, while youths 're being misled to follow FAKE Biafra freedom agitators like Uwazuruike of MASSOB/BIM, Nnamdi Kanu of IPOB/ESN, Tony of Lower Niger Congress LNC and Benjamin Onwuka of BZM etc. All the above have killed our people in tens of thousands from 1998-2023. Why have the wise men and women from the east, the land of Rising SUN play the card of enemy state Nigeria? Time and space did not permit me to expose the amount of atrocities, hausa-fulani, Yoruba and their British slave masters have committed against Ndi'Igbo, and ala Igbo. If I do, you will weep uncontrollable. ONE NIGERIA is not for you and me. We have a different DNA, we 're carrier of G-d's covenant in our foreskin, the British and the surrounding enemy tribes knows and understands very well. Hence, they 're doing everything in their weakling powers for Ndi'Igbo to remain under ONE NIGERIA.
All in their effort to label our area a landlocked area but they have already lost the battle to our God. Their wickedness has come to the end of the road.
Yes, it's true,my mom,use to go to the market to waybill good years ago when I was a little girl , she do importation business then, that I once follow her to the market, is a very big market, but she late Now,I would have asked her about the place, ooh is true ,oseakwa market is really, thanks to this brother, who went in research of it
@@livingstoneartscdlsttv8189 Same question I initially asked until I did a little research online (which you can easily do too) and discovered this same area was used for slave trade and oil Palm trade in the 19th century. It means a path leads from here to the sea. Might not be exactly the spot you saw in the video but definitely another spot in Oseakwa. The federal government designated Oseakwa for construction of a sea port in the early 1960s for a reason. Dig the archives you'll confirm this fact.
Biko nwokem kwanyere onwegi ugwu . Imakwa ebe ndi mmadu si enenesi ihea? Ebea ka i jere nodi na ekwu maka seaport. Ihe chukwu ji cho ndi igbo mma kariri akari.focus on those ones and forget about the one we don't have.
Ogun, Ondo, Edo, Oyo and Osun have bigger rivers that empty their water directly into the Atlantic Ocean. Maybe we should build ports on all of those rivers.
Why always waiting for the government, l taught the southeast has millions that can come together and build their area. Southeast diasporaians can contribute if it will be develope by truthful individuals that have the people's interest at heart. Southeast are always good at complaining without planning.
Mister man when you' talk of 18 miles you' are confuseing me how many hours or days will you' Travel From oseakwa before you got to any nearest sea or Atlantic occean please
I also SAW the huge seaport under development there. Yes. There were massive container ships lined up for a mile to pick up or unload their cargo. Yes. But wicked Nigeria scuttled this beautiful plan. Yes but don't you worry. After Biafra becomes a reality, we will use our economic prowess & business ingenuity to build West Africa's largest SEAPORT at Oseakwa. Yes, we will.
So is this small river we igbos are calling sea port, who do us abeg, oguta is the only place that can have seaport in the east, igbos come as one and it will be possible
Not really, probably my presentation was not clear enough. This is just a pathway to the sea. I mentioned at the beginning that I couldn't gain access to the point this river terminates at the seas and this was due to security reasons. I intend to head back to the exact same spot that served as sea port in the past once security improves.
@@tourgecko see, you owe them no explanations, the fact that colonial masters used it and just 18 nautical miles away from the Atlantic ocean is enough to get a government into action to ease the people's suffering. You would need major dredging to make it wide enough for sea vessels. It would likely be barges, not ships. I don't know exactly how or where the ships will anchor. Even if the water is deep enough, the ships would need enough space to turn around. It would be designated a river port rather than a seaport. There is another one in Abia and Imo.
You have said it all because many ignorant people are already thinking it can be like Lagos port.. this is like a lake. No matte the dredging. Maybe BCOS of its closeness to the Atlantic ocean otherwise it makes no sense and there are many more other far bigger rivers in the east..

@@yemmykalejaye9152 what do you mean?. You want to tell us that if that water is dredged water inflow from even Atlantic ocean cannot sustain activities in the port?. How then was the colonial masters able to anchor their ships during the slave trade?, How come the colonial masters did not have to convey such mass of slaves to Lagos before taking them abroad but also used this rout?. Well, know that Biafra land have enough of waters that can become sea ports when Biafra is restored. Go to Arochukwu, there is a mountain you will even stand on and you will be seeing the waters between us and Cameroon. I think the mountain around Omenuko river. I saw it when I was a child. Afikpo Ndibe beach will scare you, and lots more. Never limit Biafra land, we know our worth. Marginalization is not solution but inclusiveness for the good of all.
Do u know thst UAE is a desert. Do not have any water but have to dredge water from another country Oman to their Nation. And all the big ships are coming snd going. Much less we Biafrans that have water around us. If UAE that does not have water can get water from another country and get artificial seaport what about us that have water all around us
The part of the river that connects with the Ocean is deep enough. There's a reason that the federal government designated this place as a Seaport back in the 1950s. That's why it needs dredging. Don't also forget that this path was used for slave trade and large scale palm oil business in the 19th century
It’s good to know some of these things exist, I just wonder why the government aren’t seen reasons to develop it into something that can generate revenue.
For your information the owners of the so called Nigeria without meaning hausa fulani northerners and yoruba tribe and ijaw tribe know the importance of it than you and I that is why it was blocked and not to developed so the only way you can see such things in igbo land is when igbo biafra tribe get outside of Nigeria without meaning than their can build and develop their own but for this Nigeria igbo tribe are still in forget it , it is because of igbo tribe other so called seaport close to igbo land is not functioning till today because the owners of Nigeria know what igbo tribe will do
What are the Southeast governors doing?? What are the senators from the region do??? It is a significant shame that the leaders from all over Igboland have continued to befriend their counterparts in the Southwest and North whereby fighting among themselves. At the end of the day, they are sidetracked and abandoned. This is a sophisticated location to develop an extensive economic free zone and bring massive meaningful values to the area and whole Southeast. I don't know when we Africans will set aside nepotism, tribalism, sectionalism, and religious affiliation and love one another. Nigeria needs to heal, but if they don't accommodate everyone, it will be difficult to move on. One of their sons, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has been in unlawful detention for more than 1 year but they refused to speak up because of selfish political interest. One of their own ran recently for Presidency but they refused to support him They need a new mindset
I hope they revive it soon , is highly need, time for igbo land to rive themselves in other to avoid what the yorubas and fulanis ,they can do it, after seeing what happened during nigerian election to the igbos,i understand the plight of the igbos,is time for them to go home and develpoe their land.
How on earth does this look like a Seaport to you??? Pls lets be guided, we all know we are in desperate need of a Seaport in the east... But it can never be this.. This is a shallow river even a badge will find it difficult to navigate on it.
It was used for "export" be it agricultural products, slaves etc. Today what do you export? Unless you go back from consumption to production these potentials will remain of no immediate contribution no matter how it's packaged. In industrialised countries river ports like this are valuable because there's much to ship out from the factories to other countries. Our finished industrial products for export is next to zero making these water bodies untapped as a mode of transportation.
The state government should lead in the development of stuff like this . Waiting for Abuja will be long. We have no business being poor in nigeria . Local investors and engineers can do the job , lets not hang everything on forieng investors. Our forefathers used the seaport with the little technology they had . I'm sure we have enough engineering companies locally that can transform these opportunities .
Who was doing the slave giving that’s information from your documentary missing it’s important for us to know and understand where some of us came from and who sold our ancestors ✌🏿and love ❤️
So Ibos can not develop with a port? Imagine when they become independent, there won’t be no port and market like Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Ibadan, Benin City, Port Harcourt for their goods. You will have ship through Nigeria and pay exuberant amount of duties for development of Nigeria. I think Nigeria should consider Ibo independence for our economic development.
This is not a stream and definitely not the Seaport. It I the Oseakwa river that leads to the part where the Seaport existed. I mentioned at the beginning of the video that I couldn't get the Seaport from the right spot. Insecurity made me not to move further into the bush to locate the part where the Oseakwa seaport existed. That river you are seeing leads to the sea. But I'll be heading back to that town to get to the particular spot where the Seaport used to exist once I'm sure that the security situation is calm.
@@yemmykalejaye9152 This particular spot is in Ihiala, Anambra State. This is actually Oseakwa river but it leads to the sea. From this place you can head to Oguta lake, then to the South South, even towards Cameroon.

Imagine 18 nautical miles and 60 nautical miles, imagine such a port is fully developed, what will Biafrans be looking for in Lagos?, absolutely nothing.
