When Vhaegar joined Sunfyre, she knew she stood no chance but Rhaenys is her father’s daughter in every sense - she was no punk. “Princess Rhaenys made no attempt to flee. With a glad cry and a crack of her whip, she turned Meyles toward the foe.” How I interpreted it, she was fighting for, not only Rhaenyra’s claim but for her own claim since she was never Queen because her grandfather was a misogynist. If she was going to go down, she was going down fighting.

I think Rhaenys kept going back to try and end the war by taking down both dragons, but Vhagar is so damn big. I also think your take is right too. My heart was racing and I was shaking the entire time. I couldn't handle it! The way Rhaenys and Meleys looked at each other. 🥺 I really did not want them to die!! True queens until the very end. 💖 I'm also a Ravenclaw!

@@watchwithmeellebee Yep. The dragons never stop growing. The older they are the bigger they are - at least if they are getting a decent amount of food. And I believe their average natural lifespan is about 200. Vhagar is something like 160 or 170 years old. I think Meleys is about 85 or 90. And poor cute little Sunfyre is all of 20 or 25 at this point.

It prevents and terminates pregnancy. Alicent was clearly pregnant. Alicent gave it to the servant girl right after dummy King raped her to prevent pregnancy.

But during the conquest, Visenya hated house Hightower and didn’t trust the maesters (Oldtown) so instead of trying to negotiate unity, she had wanted her, Aegon (the conqueror) and Rhaenys (her sister) to fly their dragons and wipe Oldtown and house Hightower out.

@@JessP-ut9gl not doing so didn’t do them any favours because after the 2 conquerors died, the faith was actively in support of the rebels against Aenys. Without Maegor’s extremism, the Targ dynasty would’ve lost to the faith within 2 generations post-conquest. The Faith then knew they had to use back-door methods to take down magic and essentially the Targs and their dragons - hence the theories of the grey rats (maesters using sorcery) poisoning Targ women which lands in them birthing deformed dragon-babies. Visenya’s point would’ve made sense had they presented a new faith to Westeros, like the Andals did by cutting down the weirwoods and introducing the Seven and the south abandoned the old gods.

When people go to war, they fight each battle to the death. Thats how you win or lose right? Thats what Rhaenys did. Also, she just saw Rhaynera take huge risks to end the war, saying if there was anything I could do to end this I have a duty to do. This was on Rhaenys’ advice. So Rhaenys did the same- if she could take out Vhagar or even majorly injure her, she could end the war, even if she dies trying. When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. This is especially true in actual battle. RIP. Sigh. 😢

Your ode to Rhaenys has everything. The sunglasses! The iconography! The singing! She isn't even IRL-real, but we know she is Gangster Leaning in the afterlife wearing those same shades and she will raise her glass to you when (a long, long time from now!) you meet her. I want to meet her too. We're all going to kick it. Some people were mad that she "made dumb decisions" and "became suicidal over a man." But I don't think those people have ever been in a situation where they just say "f*** it, we ball, because I am the only person here who can do this job and whatever happens to me is going to happen anyway." It wasn't stupid, she wasn't "suicidal" in the strictest sense, and it was about so very much more than a man.

I think Rhaena and Meleyes had a shot at taking down Vagar. Meleyes was younger and more agile plus she was fast and mean. She could’ve driven the bigger dragon in to a bad crash or something.

The official wiki says moon tea does both. It can prevent pregnancy and cause termination if already pregnant. In game of thrones there was a statement after jon snow did stuff with ygritte that if she becomes pregnant she'll just drink moon tea.

Slytherin!Bae? And about your theory, I 100% agree, I felt the same way to add to why Rhaynis didn't just go home. First she was fighting her kid cousins, and she didn't want to do that in the 1st place. But 2nd, she was fed up with all these men just doing whatever they wanted, her family split apart, she didn't feel heard, AND remember, she's been patrolling the narrow see and the blacksea, or gulf or whatever it's called mainly alone with her granddaughter... she's tired. It comes to a point that she's tired, she's done watching this repeat of family feuding. Remember, her parents and aunts and uncles were MURDERED (11 out of 13 kids) and it's just trauma after trauma. She's tired boss

You're so funny! I love your recaps 💓 I have a couple of theories about why Rhaenys went back. 1. She thought she might be able to finish off Aemond and Vhagar. 2. She didn't know where Vhagar was (there was lots of smoke in the air) and thought that trying to escape would be more dangerous than going on the offensive. Remember what happened to Lucerys! He couldn't escape Vhagar even though he tried. 3. She didn't want to abandon their allies at the castle. I like your theories too!

I knew it was coming, but it still broke my heart! Like mother, like daughter. Both went out as dragon warriors. The way they looked at each other as Vhagar had Meleys in her jaws....😭😭😭. Also, I love Simone Strong. He's a hoot. Daemon goes in looking for a fight and gets peas and possibly weirwood paste! 😂😂 ETA: Look into The Maesters Plot. If it's true, there's a good chance they are working with Ser Foot Fetish.

I was so pissed about losing Rhaenys and Meleys, way too soon for that!😢 Rhaenys is a boss if there ever was one! I thought that Aemond was going to kill the Dummy King, and he would have done that if Criston cole didn't interrupt it, wish that stupid Criston cole would have just butted out. I thought the moon tea is both, its like a Westeros type of Plan B and abortion pill tea all in one. Still hella pissed about losing Rhaenys, she went back to try and at least damage Vhagar and take her out as much as possible to help shorten the war as much as possible, she went out a fighter!🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯

I think you're right , Rheanyrs was done. She lost a lot. She also wanted to make up for the two missed opportunities to take out the Greens. She may have weakened Vhagar.
