About 3 weeks in for me too: tail hit a loaded trailer in the yard just like your tail hit that truck! EARLY morning too! Now watching the mirrors like a hawk!! I thought same, still with my flatbed company.. ruined my career! Btw..my cruise control doesn't work sometimes...63mph without cruise..65 with...and you soooooo right on the difference on that! It's a BIG difference!! Lol! I'm on my 4rd month now. Asking for mo miles!!!
I love your humbleness and honesty. You’re a good man. I hit a yellow pole with my trailer at about the same place You did going into Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis within my first three months..
You will be aight. I've been a trucker 22 years. My first year I had 5 accidents. Now I've driven over 3 million miles no accidents. You will learn from this and it won't happen again cause you will get out and look before proceeding.
I feel your pain I had just got assigned my truck. Whet to love's truck stop to park tried to pull between two parked trucks. And hit one on the parked trucks. That was my first week and I was going home to. It happens you learn from it and keep it moving. Take care stay safe and God bless.
That's why I always tried to find parking at least 1 to 2 hours before darkness. Park while there was spaces available; and see where the heck your backing into, in daylight. Just rise about 3:30 am and start your clock. I call that OTR day driver if your going to hit shit in darkness. LOL
I forgot to tell you yo get LegalShield. It's lawyer's for truck drivers they go to court and represent you you don't have to go. And they can get it off your record as well.
I've been an O/O for 13 years. And I commend you for owning up . Most steering wheel holders would make a video on how it's the other guys fault for parking there. So a big thumbs up to you for being a good human. EVEERY ONE makes mistakes. Learn from it and move on. As you have experienced from TMC, Honesty is the best policy. Your going to make a good driver as you get experience. Another big thumbs up for being a good human.
Pulling for you young guys man..hope all is well and learn from mistakes..I made alot of them..just don't do it again that's all live and learn but never assume..90 percent of time if your questioning your room your out of it!!
That no name truck stop used to be a great place to stop. Had an amazing restaurant, but no longer. If ever no parking there, go up the hill on the left a huge dirt lot with tons of parking with a great mom and pop diner.
Haha. Good old Silver Grove! Hated that spot. It happens bro. I hit a empty trailer at Fredrick MD with an empty. No major damage, but it’s a gut punch. Attention to detail is key. G.O.A.L. 👍🏼👊🏼💪🏼
Nothing to do but man up when we screw up. Looking at the pictures ya he definitely shouldn't have been parked there. Im waiting on am offer from TMC and head to Des Moines for trianing and upgrade my CDL-B to an CDL-A. Looking forward to it. Ya, the 3 mph is a big difference for sure.. Appreciate your transparency Brother..Be safe out there..
@@davidmoody7450 Idk what planet you're on but some people in the US definitely do not like seeing minorities prosper. It is about race and it is a fact that racists exist. Just because it doesn't apply to you doesn't mean it doesn't apply to others. Not everyone has the privilege or rarely or never dealing with it so the less reason you give them to validate a negative response the better. It is simply a fact of life.
Be careful with recording videos while you are driving my friend. Talking to the camera/phone while operating the truck can be considered distracted driving or using an electronic device while driving. A punishable and possibly a fireable offense. You're giving the company the ammo to use against you if they see your videos. Making your videos is great, just do it when you're parked for you're own job security and road safety.
if someone thinks they won't get into an accident, i don't know what planet they are from. Last month my cls worker and i were in a accident i wasn't driving i was on the passenger side we were heading to Meijer and some lady came out of McDonald's T boning us on my side she end up leave the scene of the accident.
Man I have been driving big trucks since 97 is 98 and knock on wood I haven't hit anything besides some little shit on a job site I've been extremely lucky..but man it happens all of us I'll eventually hit something someday but we are not perfect at a ll
Good on you, as I'm sure you know, stuff can happen, but you were honest and owned it. As a long time Heavy Haul/oversize guy it's getting harder and harder to stay out of trouble the way people drive today. Just put it behind you and learn from it, by the way you talk I can pretty much say it won't happen again, and I hope that's the case. Not sure if I've been really good or really lucky, but I've never had a chargeable accident or a moving or DOT violation, hopefully that will continue. That Trooper that gave you the ticket, I'm wondering how he can legally cite you for a moving violation when he wasn't present to actually see it, what did he ticket you for? The best thing is not to argue the point, but there are good and bad in every line of work, best to keep a calm head and not let things get ugly. I had a situation about 8 months ago, I was pulling an 11 axle load (7 axles on the trailer, 4 on my tractor) gross weight a bit under 170,000lbs, I pull into a Service Plaza to use the rest room and take a break, the area was being re-paved, so I pulled onto a very solid concrete area. A guy comes over and starts swearing at me for parking there (I was completely out of the way) and I explain to him the weight is pretty heavy, and the newly paved area won't support it, but he insists after swearing at me some more, tells me to park the f**k where he tells me to, so I do that. I come out probably 20 minutes later, the trailer is a good 4 to 5 inches into the new asphalt, and the guy is swearing at me again, said he called the State Police. The Trooper gets there, and the guy is ranting to him, and when the Trooper comes to talk to me, I have him get in my tractor and replay the dashcam video of that idiot telling me to park there, so end of story, I left and he got to explain to his boss why they need to re-do the area. I guess maybe that could've gone south pretty quickly, because I really felt like getting out and decking the guy, and I'm not a small guy, but just keep your cool and work things out like you did. Good job, and I'm sure it won't happen again, stay safe and good luck, sorry about the governed tractor, I hope I never have to endure that BS lol!
The way a lot of these drivers park now days is a problem. If your parked in the driveway and in a turn. Do you not think that’s going to be a problem? I’m surprised more of them don’t get hit.
Well at 62 mph your truck cannot pass any other company truck. USA Truck speed is 63 J B Hunt 62 swift is 62 on and on. Something distracted your attention in front of your truck and that caused you to momentarily forget the right rear of your trailer? That momentarily distraction caused you to bump the other truck. I wasn't there but just my speculation?
I had a wrecker hit my car in a work parking lot. He was a hit and runn oft. He did leave his number and name with security but didn’t wait for me to get out there. The police came out and demanded to see my insurance (I wasn’t even in the car) and then tells me that because it is private property he has not ticket to write the other guy or to make him pay.
@@zekedawgtrucking the guy picked up my coworker’s broken down car and his equipment failed and he dropped the car and it rolled into mine crushing the front corner. He agreed to pay but when I told him the estimate was over 1500 bucks, he refused. He said he thought it would only be $50 lol and now he would turn it in to his insurance. Of course his insurance man didn’t exist, and he kept ducking and dodging, and then said he just wasn’t going to pay. So my friend said that he would attempt to turn it into his insurance even though it wasn’t his fault, and that his insurance company would do the work to make the guy pay so that they wouldn’t have to. But instead they just agreed to pay it. I felt real bad because now it’s on my friends insurance as a claim.
@@zekedawgtrucking I love your videos and enthusiasm! Very high production value too. I’m from the memphis area (West Memphis AR). I used to work a lot in Memphis.
bruh let somebody tell me i cant walk in some grass!! glad i aint go there i wuda been fired asap!! let me get hollared at bout that somebody gettin smacced in tha mouth
@@412hwc with your attitude you wouldn't last 10 minutes at TMC. They spend more money maintaining their facilities in Des Moines, Iowa than you will ever see in your lifetime. And if you can't respect the rules and show appreciation for them giving you good equipment to drive and a nice well maintained place to work then you definitely are not TMC material.
@@David-yo5re lol im smarter than that to even apply for tmc!! bruh a company spending all that money on their terminals is lame af anyways, u kno who payin for that? tha drivers bro!! and them stupid ass petes with no fridge goin 65mph n one stacc only works come on mann!! they dont pay enough for em to even make me think about following their rules, i made in 6 months prolly what u made in a year at tmc😂😂 but go head drink their kool aid bro and keep working padd your 14 for free. b safe
Seems like you should fight that ticket - I mean you accidentally hit a vehicle that was parked illegally on private property. Worth a try if you can get to the court.
I know its bound to happen to anybody .im so terified about getting out there cause i be nervous and yhink my cdl is over also .and learning to back in a timely matter
PLEASE quit recording and taking your hands off the wheel and eyes off the road to look into the camera. Somebody will look to send your vids to your company bruh.
@Zeke Dawg Trucking I peeped that after a few more vids. I like the energy and mindset bruh. Keep it pushing and don't give these negative folks anything to send in about you 💪🏿
If they fire you for accidentally hitting a truck that was parked in an area designated for through traffic then you probably shouldn’t be with that company. Get rid of that habit of taking both your hands off the wheel and find you another company.
