I tried to, it was so unfunny. The UK version almost made me fall asleep.

If by "Seppos" you mean *the same guys who worked on the UK version* then okay.

It hasn't been cancelled, it just ended because the show has finished.

Comedy feels forced in this one lmao

I love both versions but I kind of almost like the UK version better. My hubby likes the US version better. In the US version, the comedy is a bit more forced and the UK episodes are also longer, which gives the UK version more time to flesh out better storylines.

One could say the same about the uk ADAPTATIONS of before we die (innan vi dör), professor t, crime scene cleaner, the tunnel, brighton belles (golden girls), etc. Every adaptation is not without criticism. I can appreciate usa ghosts AND all uk adaptations of foreign shows, as listed above. Here's a list of other usa shows that brits later adapted for their country :Good times, maude, married with children, law and order, mad about you, who's the boss, that 70s, show.

Both series are literally made by the same team, ya pretentious teabag.

As an Australian I often prefer British versions, but not in this case. I find the American show entertaining, but think there’s room for both shows. Vive la difference!

Same here! Apparently the UK version includes actors who worked together on the Horrible Histories series and so viewers have come to know - and like - them through that. I often like British shows, (I’m Australian), but found the UK Ghosts nastier - for a start, Trevor deliberately pushed Sam out the window, (do the characters have the same names in both versions? I didn’t take notice of the UK characters’ names) - and I thought that in the April Fools’ Day episode, Sam was very cruel to the one who professed loved for her. I like the witty asides in the U.S. version and overall the characters are much nicer and kinder. Nowadays, (especially!), I think more niceness and kindness is needed. Anyway, each to their own and I while I can see positives in the UK version, (and understand some of the criticisms of the US version), I enjoy and much prefer the U.S. version.

@@heatherjay8802the UK Ghosts is considered a modern classic of the cosy sitcom genre. I find it strange/amusing you consider it to be nasty. IO haven't seen the US version yet. I generally like US sitcoms (Brooklyn 99 etc) so will probably give it a go but I think the key will be to not compare the two versions. They obviously aren't going to be the same at all.

@@neilemms5831 I agree about not comparing them, though people obviously have. I really hoped I’d like the British version, as I do enjoy many British shows. However I do believe it was rather “nasty” when Alison, (I think that’s the character’s name in the UK series), was pushed out the window! In the US show the same character accidentally trips on a vase and tumbles down the stairs. I also found some of the mannerisms of the characters in the UK show unappealing and especially unpleasant. However, that’s just my subjective opinion. Glad there are different shows for different tastes!

@@heatherjay8802 indeed there are. It was one of my favourite shows of the last 20 years. Not sure which nasty characters you are referring to, but the MP character was meant to be a Tory, so there's a bit of satire there. Also, it gives a chance for characters to have a story arc and a bit of redemption, which definitely happens in the UK version. If everyone is just nice it soon gets stale I'd have thought.

@@neilemms5831 I didn’t watch enough of the UK version to know too many details about all the characters, but it was the act of pushing someone out of a window - which could’ve been fatal - that I thought was quite “nasty”, rather than the characters. However, several of the other characters’ mannerisms came across as particularly unappealing to me - to the point that I wasn’t interested in continuing to watch the show - again, a subjective opinion! Though I prefer the U.S. version, if I’d liked the UK one, I would’ve watched both, but if it’d been the only version available, it wouldn’t be one I’d choose. In the U.S. series I find the characters do develop and they certainly aren’t all “nice”. Each to their own and may we all find entertainment we enjoy!
