My drone hit a concrete floor and was fine except for gimbal vibration on startup. I sent it in under care refresh and DJI sent a new drone quite quickly. Great service.
We're glad everything went well, Thomas. Thanks for sharing your feedback on our service. As always, should you need to contact us for any reason, please know that we are always here to help. Thank you for choosing DJI.
Great to see a new video from you, glad you were able to get a replacement… although it looks like DJI isn’t to happy about some of the things you said in your video:)! I have not crashed my mini 3 pro, but I have had it stop responding to stick inputs at least 8-10 times since I have had it. Every time it has been in open air areas with a full gps fix and after @15 seconds it starts to respond again. 3x over water where it started to descend towards the water like it wanted to land. This actually happened again tonight and I was able to regain control about 1 foot above the water before it took a swim! I think it’s a firmware issue and I’m going to update it tomorrow to the newly released version with hopes that fixes it!
I just shared my experience, but I do understand they can't condone warranty repair for modded drones and modding itself, doen't look good for the company, yet all the people I heard sending their modded drones for repair had positive experiences with it! Anyway I hope they fixed this issue that was not present on previous models, and it is causing me to have some trust issues with my gear!
It could be a firmware issue or it could be a VIO problem. If you are deliberately flying very low over water, especially very calm water with smooth mirror-like surface devoid of any contrast, it can be the recipe for disaster because there is a possibility for the downward Visual Inertial Odometry sensors on the drone to be confused by the featureless terrain and cause the drone to dive into terrain. Rick over at Drone Valley explain the mechanics behind this at 14:54 on the following video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ervG0ulRFGc.html&ab_channel=DroneValley
Same in my case, it was dark and lights were maybe flickering to the sensors or something, and gps in an alley is bouncing from walls, but when this system don't work the drone should rely on accelerometer, altimeter and the infrared sensor on the bottom, and listen to user commands even if unstable instead of still trying to follow the sensor bias!
@@Rimzler I got a dji fpv and I got a few times the same trouble. I was flying my drone to an open area no nothing. And when I'm going forward the drone suddenly stop and when I push my stick forward nothing happens. He want to go and suddenly stop and beeping in my rc.Then I put in sport mode and then was ok.This happens a few times and always when I put in sport mode was ok.Maybe anyone know what is this??
The reason for DJI does not comment is that you moded the controller not the drone. You send to warranty the drone which was not modified in any way. The drone listen to the controller and adjust the RF power conforming to the transmission protocol used. Is a master-slave relation, or client-server ...
I had similar situation with mine mini 3 about one year ago. During take off from small balkony i flew up from ground to about 1m above ground then i stoped. Then without pressing anything at controller dron made fast unexpected move to the side and crash to the wall. Lucky i just made few scratches at propellers
Hi Rimzler, it is not recommended to do any form of modification with DJI consumer drones, please comply with local laws and regulations when flying drones. Modifications and self-service will void the warranty and the DJI Care Refresh service as well. As for your case, could you please provide me with your case number for further check? Thanks in advance.
Totally agree and understand that your company cannot provide warranty on modified gear, and that people need to comply with regulations. Even if my drone was modded I learnt that the same issue was happening to many users with non modded drones, so that had to be a issue with firmware and not dependent on the mod itself, so I decided to send my drone for warranty repair and had a great experience with your support service, hope the issue was solved with latest updates! Here is the case number CAS-10513064-B9G1K1 , thanks for your interest in the matter
@@Rimzler Thank you for getting back to us, we will double-check the details with the corresponding team. Still, we will not recommend that the users modify the drone. Thank you for your understanding.
@@DJISupportGlobal very likely many users use a kind of mod because purely and simply the drones in Europe use the CE regulations and are advertising a range of approximately 8km, where unfortunately ALL at 500 meters are without connection to the drone. Honestly it is more dangerous to use in CE, where the range is ridiculous, where here neither your company uses an alternative nor increases the range of the same to avoid these same serious failures in an equipment supposedly of quality and with reliability.
@@soundairmultimedia Hi, we are sorry if you encountered an issue with the range of Mini 3 Pro. Just to clarify, flight distance sometimes relates to the flight environment, the wireless interference and the obstacles between the controller and aircraft will affect the signal. Therefore, please try to fly in open areas, check the interference on the Transmission settings and see if the current channel has interference, and you can try to raise the altitude if possible to avoid obstacles and interference between the drone and controller. Please also try to turn off the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection for the device, and you may refer to page 43 of the manual: dl.djicdn.com/downloads/DJI_Mini_3_Pro/UM/20220715/DJI_Mini_3_Pro_User_Manual_v1.2_en.pdf If the issue happens frequently, please help to provide the following information, I will forward your issue to our engineers for further assistance. 1. The screen recording of the flight; 2. Please export the controller and aircraft flight data of the issued flight via DJI Assistant 2 3. A screenshot of the firmware information; 4. The time and date of the flight. Thank you very much.
@@DJISupportGlobal With all due respect, these fixes are all trying to polish a turd. DJI knows full well that the transmission power of the controller is limited due to the CE regulations, yet continue to market the products the same way regardless of the region. If you don't want people to modify their drones, then at least be honest with customers that the product is limited through software, not through hardware. At the end of the day, the devices have the same hardware regardless of region, so I feel it would be reasonable of DJI to be upfront with consumers about this. I just bought a Mini 3 Pro last week, I took it out for a test flight in my city and it was getting at the most a range of 300m. I then installed the FCC mod, then tested the Drone in the exact same location with the same conditions and was able to achieve over 2000m range. Given that evidence, for DJI not to acknowledge the software limitations due to the CE restrictions is very dishonest. Don't get me wrong, I love DJI products and your customer service is always brilliant - but from a marketing perspective, you're not being transparent with customers in the majority of the world where CE regulations apply. Personally, I would rather take the risk with modifying it to get the full functionality of the drone that I paid the same price as FCC regulated regions for, than have to worry about range every time I fly even when maintaining VLOS as per the regulations.
Ahahahahha they analized the drone so I'm sure they noticed, just didn't care! It ended up very good but also right for me, the drone did misbehave very bad and still have trust issues😂
Lucky you😃 regarding fcc hack would be great if you would make a vid for the fcc 'hackers how they can undo the hack incase they need care refresh and avoid any problems. I hacked my spark and got around 5km range in fcc. Recieved my mini 3 pro last week, was a black friday deal 749Euro with same rc like yours. Now i saw all these range problems and will eventually send it back if tge upcoming release 9.12.22 mini 3 standard will solve the problem and i'm ok with the 'sacrificed' features. Anyway, great vid, take care, greets from Switzerland
So, it's the remote that turn on the FCC on the drone.. What if i use a non modded remote after using the mod, will it turn back the drone to CE again?
So they didn't evne realise the FCC update? Also, have you considred getting the 3850 mah battery for Mini 3 Pro? I know you have 4 of the EU batterys but i asked anyway, lol.
hello, yes dji is very accommodating. what about the fcc hack if a new update is made for the rc controller, do i have to buy the hack again? greeting horst
I think it’s the firmware. I didn’t mod my Mini 3 and it would not fly in a straight path which required me to provide gradual input to correct its path. It may have something to do with bottom facing sensors.
I'm sorry but why the fck i'm not following you since i watch so much of your videos and also did your fcc mod 😅 I fixed that now 😅😁 keep up your awesome work 👌👍👍
