Lol comment section irritates me, I don't know why I read 🙄 lol. For the life of me I will never understand why anyone would be so emotional over another person cutting their hair. They really act like you sneaked into their house at night and cut their own hair off and it's usually the bald head chicks or the ones who can't grow their hair past chin length due to damage that be so upset 😂😂. Like I get it you wanted long hair and are having a hard time achieving it but what's that gotta do with this young lady? Let people live and work out your own insecurities with God. If she feels confident enough to cut her hair let her have that confidence. It's just hair, it grows back. She's had long hair all her life so she knows how to maintain and grow long hair if she decides to grow it back.
No this is really nice. A black girl being okay with cutting her hair is beautiful to me. All these black girls are are afraid to cut it because they think it will never grow back. But seeing a black girl cut her hair and still look beautiful afterwards is just nice.

I'm tires of being so obsessed with my hair and I can give up a lot but my vanity really bothers me. I want to be able to walk out the door and think I'm enough for the world no matter what I look like. TheGirlLikesMovies SIS I NEED TO TESTIFY TO YOU FOR A MINUTE. Okay, first week in March I got my hair cut low and it was alright but it wasn't enough. So two weeks ago, I did the full shave and my confidence has been s h i n i n g since then. I even dyed it blonde. I get compliments - even from one of my youth who begged me not to shave my head but now she loves it - but I think the compliments are because people can see how confident I have. I used to think I have boring, not very feminine features, and I thought I was too chunky to rock a shaved head. But man. I love it. Good luck, sis. I hope you get as much out of it as I do. At the end of the day, it's all fun and if you decide to grow it back later then that's your choice too. I'm defo keeping my hair low for a while though haha. For me it was just curiosity but it ended up being so liberating. I'm so glad girls are doing this. Big thanks to you Afiya! You definitely played a part in this. You inspired me. My hair was circa 12 inches, but I cut it 3 times because I got tired of it, and never cut it in its entirety. I’m going to do what you did when it gets back to around 11-12 inches and donate it to the same organization. Much love from the Virgin Islands🇻🇮

This is truly inspirational. Here I am scared to cut off 4 inches of heat damage but here you are brave to cut most of it..and by yourself too!!! I love the results! I made my appointment to cut my hair..and I may actually cut more than the four inches to truly do my big chop. Everything changes.💙💙

Hello Ayifa! You are one bold and fearless young woman. Your new haircut is awesome and compliments your personality. I too have had many hair experiences in my life. During the 1970's renowned hair stylists like Vidal Sassoon and John Atchison were all the rage. I had my first very short haircut done at Vidal Sassoon's Hair Studio on 57th and Fifth Avenue in NYC. John Atchison cut it beautifully. It was quite a liberating experience and I loved the cut. At my age, it's so refreshing to see young women such as yourself make bold and confident hair statements. You are a wonderful role model.

i shaved my head and now I'm being bullied in college. now i miss having hair cuz even though nobody would talk to me and i was invisible, im more visible now and I'm being insulted. but it does feel nice to not have to do much with it and it will grow back. my hair was badly damaged before. i think it depends if you have a pretty face or not and you're pretty so it looks good.

Ever since middle school, I've had painfully short hair. I'm a 4C natural, and all I've ever wanted is long hair. Sadly, it just seems like it wasn't meant to be. It was painful for me to watch you cut your long gorgeous hair, because it's what I've always wanted and never been able to obtain. However, you look amazing with long or short hair, and what matters is that you love it, which I can tell you definitely do!
N. Wednesday Quansah you should try deep conditioning your hair then moisturizing it. The deep conditioner will open up your hair follicles so things like moisturizer can really work on it. My sister's hair used to grow slower but since she has been doing that she grows more hair each month. Also massage the moisturizers into your scalp when moisturizing it. That like helps stimulate hair growth.
