@@Babylionhotshot My trailer is a triple axle. I just put 6 new wheels and tires on it. I haul Harleys. Soon I plan on working on getting my numbers so i can hail freight ,unless someone wants to let me use there numbers. I have insurance. Also working on getting my CDL so i can go over 26k.
If you are going to haul big equipment like that you had best carry extra sets of bearings. You are going to burn them up. Leave the 20K LBS equipment to the RGN guys.

Just had to replace the whole a$$ front right wheel hub assembly and bearing for my Ram 3500. Only shop that had the replacement was the Stealership. MOPAR. $620. And it was either that, or sit tight for a week. And I didn’t have that luxury. Sorry you had that wheel bearing go out on ya man! Safe Travels, and Run like Hell!
Dexter/Lippert recommend once every 12,000 miles you maintenance your bearings. That means pulling all of your hubs, taking your seals out, cleaning/inspecting your bearings/hubs/races & brakes, and replacing any damaged components and always replacing seals that have been pulled. From what I see most serious drivers typically do it at the latest 20,000-30,000 miles. It's not a quick job. I always recommend drivers to carry spare wheels/tires/hubs/brakes/bearings. Saves a lot of the time when it inevitably happens to you.
That all depends on how hard you use your trailer. Or if your maxing a single tandem or average use on a dual tandem. Most single tandem owners are maxing their trailers all the time to stay in the game.
Nice! Key word in that is Inevitably. It was finally my time. I always drive by hotshots and semis broken down on the side of the road and it always makes me think.... " My time Must be right around the corner lol "
A tip for ya. On those cotter pins, take a pair of diagonal cutters the bigger the better and clamp onto the round side of the cotter pin. Rest the back side of the pliers on a surface and litterally roll them over to the left or right. It will pull the cotter pin right out easy. Works for all size cotter pins. Just don't clamp too hard and cut it on accident.
@@Babylionhotshot Need to plul and check them every 20-30K. I just got mine done. All outers was wearing down. But inner was good. All races was good. Just had to replace all 6 outers. Little over $400> But they did mine while i was on my way to pick up. Very nice company.
Tbh I don’t wanna be a hater but what is the cost savings of running a truck and trailer to its max and break stuff compared to a tractor trailer that is designed for the weight?
Doesn't look like you added any oil to the hub. I see this all the time. No maintenance, hub fails then they blame the equipment. You need someone smarter than yourself to due the maintenance.
Dont work for anyone else, go do your own dreams, but wait.... Cant change a bearing by myself, cant cut it as a hot shot by myself, lets go be a BROKER so YOU work for everyone now instead of yourself? Your all over the map, always have been, and cant believe you did ZERO maintenace since you bought that trailer from aketchy bro
Let me put this abundantly clear. What you are apportioned for has NOTHING to do with what your trailers axles suspension and brakes can physically handle .
I going to have to put out some videos to explain but I got hit on all fronts. Progressive messed up some paper work (they admitted it was their mess up). so the FMCSA revoked my authority. My truck has a bad bearing called the pinion bearing I have to switch out. thats -$4k this coming week plus the loss from not working. I did end up getting my insurance from 49K to 34k for the year. Paid it up front just took out a loan for that. And I just sent in my 2022 Taxes and working on my 23'. I had to put RU-vid on the back burner. but ya shit got rough for a second. glad to be back and thanks! 🙏
I agree but it will be his Choice....if you read between the lines he finally Realized OTR HOTSHOT is A bad business model especially without solid contracts and customer base......you noticed he asked RGN driver about pay.....noted about being a broker and also spoke about Carrier expenses.........I'm proud he figured it out........I been were he is....takes 2 years ask me how I know.....
just so you know you can buy the hub assembly all new bearing ect., or just replace the bearings one is cheaper then the other but one is easier then the other. Me I carry two brake assemblies and hub assemblies and a set of bearings with me, so if one goes down I replace then on reset I replace bearings in one took off. I'm not sure on your trailer axle size but start at dexter hub assemblies websites then go from there I guess. Also, some inspect/repack their bearings or inspect new oil every 6 months others every year. I just passed my 1st level 1 inspection during blitz week after being in this for 2 years. For all the pm's I have done it paid off during that inspection. Or at least that's how I justify it in my head.
Ya you definitely can't be over prepared. Bringing all the extra parts with you is a smart move. I don't know if you learned that the hard way for just figured its inevitably going to happen to you but its a good decision for sure.
@@Babylionhotshot I started out that way I did a bunch of research before I got into it and decided better to be safe than sorry. It does suck carrying around all that extra stuff for sure
Hey baby lion, Thanks for the videos man. I'm thinking about starting in a non CDL hot shot trucking but have zero experience in this industry. What do you think it should be my first step into it, bro ? Buy a truck, rent a trailer, and find a dispatcher? Ride along with some more experienced drivers for few days, or work for somebody first? Thanks again good luck and safe travels
How’s it going Stuart , I have been fallowing you and your journey for over two years now and also some other hotshot RU-vidrs that have motivated me to get my Cdl and get into trucking. I have been drive as company driver for a year now and I am getting ready to buy my own truck and trailer there’s some questions that I would like to ask you if you have a moment if there’s anyway that I can possibly reach you, please let me know. Thank you.
I warned you about those type of load, now it will cost you more than what that load was paying you!!!. U will need to replace that whole axle believe me,it's not safe to drive on that....a bad ting you doing by grinding off that. Take the time out to service your equipment bro....that's a nice stepdeck u have there but ur killing it with those stuff. And you are less caring your equipment
Bro. He had a tiny ass load on there. I've had something similar to that non cdl. You guys talk put ur asses and have 0 clue what the fuck u talking bout! U think we don't consistently go over scales and double check our weights?!?!?!?!
ya what happened was my seals went bad and the hub dried up, got hot and failed. I could put another 6K lbs on it even with the dozer. but the raps definitely don't like it. this week I replaced both hubs, both rotors, all bearings ( truck and trailer including the pinion bearing that was starting to go out in my truck) and breaks all around. cost a shit load but ill be good to go for at least another month. Im learning what to lookout for and where I need to focus my energy on doing preventative maintenance the hard way. One thing is forsake, ill never go with out checking my hubs before a run again.
Dude!!! Every 12k is the recommendation. I go about every 25k, but no more before i at the very least check and repack them. And theres nothing wrong with that spindle. The inner race is going to sit on the damaged part anyway.
Utterly confused by your silly statement. No one wants to be a truck driver? That's a damn lie. Tons and tons of ppl do. And u can make 100k a year doing it! If your aren't an idiot you can make a living at 100k a year
O shoot nice. Yup im here in Marion. I put the sign up when I first started but quickly learned thats not really how to get customers nor does the logistics industry work like that. Load boards is where its at there through meeting people at picks and drops is where I have found some local customers.
You can make a living doing gay porn too. im sure it pays well but the life style becomes a question after a few years. Trucking is great to get started in the logistics industry but I really want to get the message out there for people to not get too comfortable. keep on taking the next step and make progress. Then you can make 200K.... 300k... a year. But then again 100K is enough for some people to settle with and that is okay with me... but I won't be settling.
Im about to get into this, and what im hating already is things always go bad in the middle of a god damn load. Smh… but i dont want a job so my only job is to be ready for this bs. Lol
Hey man love your videos. You remind me of myself quite a bit! One thing i firmly disagree on though is everyone acts like there is 0 money to be made non cdl! Thisnis totally untrue and inaccurate! I know its rude to talk money but i net 2k a week almost every week i grind. Not hard. Ive done 4k. Yeah im sure u can pull in a couple gs more but i dont have the weight u do so i pay less in gas, i dont have the weight u do which lets be honest is a hassle lol, and my truck is gonna have alot less maintenance without that extra weight. So yeah. Mb you make 200k a year and i make 150. But you spent the extra 50 on that setup! Love your videos. Definitely not hating whatsoever! But ppl who say you cant make money non cdl, either dont know how to manage money or are just taking shit rates. Im on a 3 dollar rate myself non cdl. They arent really that hard to get! You are right. This job isnt for the weak. Everyone thinks its all fun and games till your tire blows out up on a steep mountain and ur jack jist doesnt give enough clearance on the hill ur on! Basically anything that can go wrong will 100 percent go wrong! Of course experience helps but its not an easy job. Thata why we make 6 figures bro. No 6 figure job really all that easy except illegal stuff
I am kinda curious how you did no cdl hotshot had a 80 k + setup and then within a year which you say yourself you don't make that much money in and all of a sudden you get a 100+ truck and 30+ k trailer? U got rich family financing you bro? Lol. I know your credit ain't that good u what 30
Remember in 31 years old. Take into consideration I probably have a credit history. I didn't borrow in no-cdl because I didn't need too. When you have good credit and a credit history, lenders will lend. Also I had a RU-vid channel to prove that I have a legitimate business and im the owner of the business. They took that into consideration. My truck is on a 4 year 7% note and I am half way paid off in 1 year I'll be paying the other half this year. Im a good bet and lenders know it. Also with a CDL that more supporting documentation that you have skin in the game. being away from home for 2K a week Doesn't cut it for me thats why I got my CDL and a Bigger set up. With a bigger set up comes bigger opportunities bigger customers and bigger money. Im sure the Semis are killing it. I know you might be kidding but I document all the hard work I do specifically so people know I have earned everything I have. I don't think rich kids live in the homeless shelter for 2 years and have the drive I have. 🦁
I have watched every video from start to finish, I have been trucking since 2006 I love it, always had my Cdl always driven a rig, pulled many many different trailers and loads, I currently haul construction equipment, I am tired working for someone, wife and I are looking into doing CDL hotshot I live in the Louisville ky area.. central freight crossroads. I was OTR for 10 years so wanna be home as much as possible but I know not always gonna happen.
Tell me you don't do pre-trip without telling me. This makes us hotshot guys look bad! How do you not do regular maintenance on a trailer that makes you all the money! You took a good paying load and made us hotshot guys look bad! Pay attention to the equipment!
Not hotshot but cdl. Period. No hotshot carrying 80k. Lol. No hotshot carrying 60k either. The most a sensible hot shooter with a cdl would put on their rig I would hope be maxed at 30k
He has pulled that trailer over 100 Thousand plus miles after buying it without servicing it has nothing to do with the black dude at all especially loading your trailer with loads like these
@@williejewelz8538 yeah I was prolonging the learning curve to learn how to change bearings and seals, but for some reason learning hard way is always how it happens. I know now because after this video, I changed my bearings and all the seals started linking then I had to change it again and now it’s good.
Hey, man! I have a question I myself currently have a NON CDL flatbed 40 fit . I want to switch to CDL Tell me please, you wrote that the net profit from Gross is 37% . Where can I see the whole expenditure part? I'd like to understand why it's 37%
