That Scene gets me every time... where IP Man sees the other Master die... then he wants to fight 10 men... it's like you can feel the Level of Pain & Anger of IP Man... the Emotions... with the Music... along with the Filming. Great Movie... also the Final Fight Speaks for Itself 😢🤕😤☮ (oh... by the way there are 4 IP Man Movies... the 5th one is being made right now)
The point is that the whole movie he has taken it easy on everyone in every fight even with the criminals that tried to take over his village. Never goes 100%. So that scene you see 100% WITH emotion on top cause he took it personal.
Yes it is. True legend, and there's many more like the girl who created Wing Chun is named after her, Huo Yuanjia, and the legendary Wong Fei Hung, Guan Yu, Zhao Yun, Mulan, and many more.
@@shawnsmith2610 Ip Man was his first official teacher and was the one who taught him the first form Wing Chun, Wong Shun-leung did most of the teaching after that and was the one that got him involved in the fight scene in Hong Kong. He had other teachers and collaborators over the years, including the infamous Cha Cha lesson.
Great reaction! This is defintely among some of the greatest Martial Arts movies of all time. I'm 43, I've seen a lot. I would like to see your reaction to American Ninja. Not many people (or any at all) review it or even know about it. Definitely one of my top 20 Martial Arts movies. Give it a go! You may start a reaction trend.
One the greatest martial arts movies but i won't say the best wing chun movie... sammo hungs warriors 2 and prodigal son are tops... along with sammo demonstration in gambling ghost end fight scene.
There are 4 chapters in Ip Man series. You should react to them all. "Ip" is the last name of him(葉). Pronounce as same as "Yip". "Man" is his first name(問). Chinese name goes with last(family) name first and then first name. So his full Chinese name is 葉問.
OMFG! Ip Man is the G.O.A.T!! Donnie Yen is great, he became my favorite after this movie, no disrespect to Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Tony Jaa, or Iko Uwais.
Bruce Lee was the man that started it all. He did first and he did it best. Everyone else are all trying to imitate what he started and what he was able to do in martial arts.
He look the general's honor in the public fight. He showed the general mercy by sparing his life. He humiliated the general and took his honor. He gave him a fate worse than death because the general has to live knowing he was dishonored and beaten in public.
4:34 despite the line which is already on screen, Lin also said "i shouldnt have been his student." and after he ask "was the duel private, master ip?" the following line was "then i dont interrupt your private chat" dont know why the english subtitles always miss out a few lines here and there
They know how fast the average person can read, then they set the bar lower than that. It's enough to caption the major points because the dialogue is usually too fast and the subtitles would have too many words and not enough time for most people to understand what is happening while also watching the action.
@@jacksonrae2785 most of the time, they left out the puns the characters make in their conversation, which makes the movies less entertaining than they are supposed to.
you wont belive me if i tell you that i know this movie in and fucking out. My father is a big fighting movie fan. Let it be kung fu, boxing, streetfighting, mma he will watch it. But this movie had fighting choreography that was never seen before. Donnie Yen (Ip man) revolutionized movie fighting in this one. And when my father saw this for the first time, you wont believe me for the the following two weeks he watched this movie ever single day. EVERY DAY. And after the two weeks for a long period of time he watched it occasionally. And everytime he watched it, i watched it too haha. So i know this fucking movie more than i know my own house
Im not sure if u all realised. All his punching style is base of street fights. But with a lot more strength. The only unique to wing chun is it finger poking moves . When the practitioner really get serious they start using the all finger out stance
I liked and subbed you guys. I love your movie reaction to this! Especially when your showing your woman the movie and she hasn’t seen it, seeing the best parts of ip man is the best haha 😂 ima fan now 💯🙌 Also please check out and do a movie reaction “Kung fu hustle”
Have you heard that Wing-Chun, the specific kung-fu style depicted in this movie, was created primarily for women? And, that Ip-Man was one of Bruce Lee's earlier teachers?
Yes this version of IP MAN with Donnie Yen is a trilogy but there are other film & tv series versions of IP MAN that tell many different sides of who he was from different views that have no connection to Donnie Yen’s IP MAN films except for the film MASTER Z (from what I remember). I’ve seen pretty much all the IP MAN versions except the netflix version and ones when he’s an old grandmaster. In my opinion, THE ONLY PERSON WHO CAN PORTRAY IP MAN IS DONNIE YEN, THERE IS NO OTHER WHO FITS THE ROLE PROPERLY its not just because I’m a fan but b/c his grandmother is a retired grandmaster who taught him.
What a wonderful reaction of you for this blockbuster movie. Watch all the 4 sequels : 1. This review is the First sequel : Ip Man vs The Japanese Commander 2. Second sequel : Ip Man vs the Brit Boxer 3. Third sequel : Ip Man vs Mike Tyson 4. Fourth sequel : Ip Man vs the US Army Sergeant Anyway, the right pronounciation of Ip Man is "Yip" (like Yippy) for Ip and "Mun" (like mum for mother) for Man. Ip is his surname and Man is his first name (for Chinese, Japanese and Korean, surname put in front of the full name). And because of this Film, the martial art he used in the movie "Wing Chun" become more popular in many countries, including in US, because of its unique stands always facing front the opponent and speed of its forward punches. Just for information, there is another popular spin off Ip Man movie, entitle "Master Z : Ip Man Legacy", which "Cheung Tin-Chi (from Ip Man third sequel) vs big guy Dave Bautista. It's very worth to be watched. Enjoy the movies. One of the Best Martial Art Sequel movie all the time.
@Devin G Yo G I can't wait to see y'all reactions towards Bruce Lee The Big Boss from 1971, Fist 👊 Of Fury from 1972, Way Of The Dragon 🐉 from 1972, Enter The Dragon 🐉 from 1973 and Game Of Death from 1978.
There is four with Donnie Yen and there is other Ip-Man movies one has the guy Donnie Yen fights at the end of part three he is the main star of one of them and Dave Bautista is the main bad guy in it.
The great sammo hung did the action for this movie! The greatest wing chun practioner on screen... if dont believe me watch gambling ghost end fight, warriors 2, and prodigal son.
@@jacobharris954 doesn't always have to bruce lee or ip man... Bruce was grandmaster for sure.... but sammo has alot weight to his style of wing chun, and extremely fast.
@@MitchClement-il6iq Bruce Lee had a few wing chun instructors, ip man owned the school . Wong shun actually ran it and was his top student. Do your research before writing . Maybe you need to sober up before trying to insult an actual expert
if You want a really good movie about martial arts, try "Kuro Obi - Black Belt" from 2007... that is a really excepional movie about Martial arts... far from the superherolike fantasy versions of martial arts shown everywhere...
the thing about martial arts movies, is that you have to know the forms and styles to understand why the characters fight that way. when Ip Man fights someone, he changes styles on the fly, and that affects the way he moves.
Its a reaction man…. meaning the premise is SEEING THE REACTIONS. And its youtube, having less of the movie on screen is good to avoid being demonetized and getting strikes
