I actually had the same realization just about an hour ago. That we will never be healed from our sin but rather that we have to pay the price every day *because* we are sinners. It is incredibly difficult to withstand lust. Sometimes I ask myself: how can others live without it and miss out on it? Clearly there is something I don't know. And it's also tough to give up on those desires for an afterlife that might not even exist (just a possibility). But it's the exact belief that is being tested. Amen.

Not everyone preaching with an effect of joy in the congregation are fake. Even this message you're commenting on, other people here have reacted to it with joy. Remember the experience of the major prophet who was given a scroll to eat and it was sweet in his mouth but bitter in his belly, yes. Remember that and know that the Word of God has different effects on people depending on their state with God and what the Spirit of God wants to achieve.
