Decent human being alert... Sold the guy a bike, he raw dogs it and smokes the clutch(pretty sure he knew what he did), instead of telling him he had to deal with it on his own, he helps him fix it and teaches him repair and maintenance in the process. Strong Matthew McConaughey vibes. Great video bro.

Get some gear, some gloves that protect your palms of the hand, and some pants Wich are able to skid along the asphalt, and a jacket to also take the asphalt. You don't want your skin to be used as a block of cheese along the asphalt if you fall down. Try. Sprint as fast as you can in your shorts and try to skid with your knees and see. No don't do that. Ride safe, and educate yourself to be a better rider. And also learn the mechs by watching others, and videos here and it will give you a good feeling like ur better than the people that call a Mech to change a sparkplug. That's embarrassing as a man. ;) much love. Come by and say hello..

You went above and beyond and with a great attitude. The guy seemed very sincere and basically admitted to possibly burning out the clutch. Either way, you handled it great. I sold an antique bike to a modern bike rider. It was his first antique bike. I even delivered it 3 hours away for free. I showed him how to start it and ride it and gave him a three page rundown of maintenance tips and specs. We went for a ride, him on his new bike from me and me on my bike and I was shocked at how hard he was on the bike in all ways. I stopped him mid-ride and AGAIN warned him that this is not a new bike and needs to be treated gingerly and carefully until he learned it. He just was closed off to a new learning experience. While I was driving home the 3 hours, I called a friend and told them about this experience and we wondered how long until he broke the bike. Well, about a month later I get a long email from the buyer saying it’s broken and he brought it to a shop and they recommended rebuilding the entire engine. He wanted me to pay 1/2! I told him what I thought it was (a valve or pushrod issue from pushing the engine beyond its limits by an inexperienced rider), and that’s what needs to be looked at first, but the engine did not need a “full rebuild” and I’m not paying anything. If he were closer I would have taken it back to look at it, but 3 hours, and an “as is” purchase? No way. Turns out I was correct, but he wanted a full rebuild, so he paid for a full rebuild. Sometimes, you want to help, but that’s why that sentence is in the bill of sale.

Cheap used bike, naw. This is way above and beyond. Though I'd personally feel compelled to help a guy I just sold a bike if he didn't have a garage space by at least lending mine and a hand. Otherwise It's the risk with older bikes, That clutch could've gone on him before he sold it. I had one of my bikes that was ridding just fine suddenly need a clutch just recently, pulled it in the garage after a ride no signs it was anything but good to go thousands of miles then next went to ride it and no good. It happens. It's great to lend a hand when you can but it shouldn't be expected. Remember these things are trading hands often for close to or less than what the bill at a real shop would have been for the work done. People can't expect a warranty on stuff that costs less than a warranty.
@AT-vd2uv
@AT-vd2uv 2 месяца назад
@@chublez u and I differ in our perspectives but I respect it. We are a small group, us bikeriders. I agree it is great to lend a hand. It should be expected though because of what we have in common…that’s why we 2-finger-down acknowledge one another. Especially if the seller truly is caught off guard with the news. There’s too much shadiness in the marketplace and we deal with squid missiles. Not too many fender benders when we crash. Again, I respect ur perspective. Thanks for replying to my post. I forgot I ever said anything. Be safe brada!
