Soooooo I’m the whatnot guy he’s talking about To be honest I was happy to buy these books and to meet Daniel yesterday What im confused about is the fact that you cant send even a simple message to say hey I’m using you to make a RU-vid video and I’m going to give the details of our transaction Thanks for the heads up

Seems like you don’t know sticky goose 😂 . You did good imo if that’s all he has to say about this deal. He could have gone the route of criticizing your clothes, weight and breath and lumped you into a comic book community stereo type. 😂😂😂

he doesn't owe that to you. Is Daniel your employee? No. Get over yourself.

I agree with the buyer. When selling your books it should not be advertised what you sell the for and to whom. The buyer thinks it's a private sale, whether he's a flipper or collector. Period. The seller doesn't have the right to advertise to all who they sell to just for clicks.

I just wanted to say because you did mention it. I would never understand the mentality of people of when they're bidding for something that they have to win the auction. You're playing with money. Also if you're willing to overpay for something what's the point for you to be taking your time out of your day and sit there and wait at an auction. All of that doesn't make any sense but it almost goes towards the mentality of people in the United States when it comes to money

As someone willing to overpay occasionally there are two reasons: I absolutely cant find it elsewhere & really want it or I've gotten so many dollar books that I don't mind splitting the difference cuz I'll still come out winning. I think you'll find most people underpay on WN compared to overpay. If you really believe that the mentality of people in the United States is that they are flippant with money then I challenge you to try selling on there. I think you'll quickly find most buyers are looking to spend as little as possible.
@MattMatt77
@MattMatt77 3 месяца назад
@@poing333 The thing is you're 2 answers kind of contradicts one another. If you overpaid that means it's for sale somewhere else. At that same time if you have that much money to pissing away why not dis pay what somebody is asking right then and there other than wasting your time at an auction. My uncle he does have a lot of money. So when it comes to him buying stuff he doesn't do stuff like that. One time his son totaled his car so he went into the dealership the next day and bought a new 1 cash. This is a Mercedes G wagon AMG. It's a car He likes.
@Tosh16

I think people fall for this as they do because they aren't paying with physical cash in hand. When it's just a number on a screen it doesn't mean as much as it does when you're holding the physical currency. It's why I've gone to paying in cash most of the time in everyday life. It makes me consider purchases much more and i often put items back at Walmart or wherever where I used to just toss them in the cart.

Thanks for sharing the details behind the scenes. Have you considered pulling the bigger keys from the X-Men run (maybe the best 10 books or so) and selling those individually while lotting the filler issues? I feel like that is going to maximize your value while putting in less effort. I also understand the value of just getting the books out and just moving on.

Nice job. Seems like a beneficial deal for you both, especially down the road if he takes some books you don’t want or can’t move.

Sticky goose,that's a good idea to just get rid of the books you don't care about. I am trying to sell three short boxes of books and keep 2 boxes of books that I care about cause I don't need all those books and once I get a Tmnt#1 I am calling it quits cause X-Men#1 and Batman#1 is way over priced.
@adammeade

As long as you are happy with the price that’s the main thing I think. It’s a bad time to sell comics at the moment it seems.
@Tosh16
@Tosh16 3 месяца назад
Value really only consists of the perspective of the individual buyer if you think about it. For example I have autographs from meeting Pantera in the early 2000s and to me they don't hold any monetary value but some Pantera fan out there will likely pay a premium for them especially since 2 members are now passed on. So it really comes down to if you feel good about the transaction you made in the end, not what's the highest price you could get for each item.

this is something i dont really feel like gets explored or talked about much. downsizing the collection is something i've been wanting to do but, idk if i should go through it and sell some individual keys first or keep them in it so im not selling a bulk prices. about 10k books

As for the Xmen collection Imagine actually being upfront and say hey I’m doing a RU-vid video about this is that ok ? I would have bought the collection possibly even at $3,500 and it Could have been a win win for both of us But noooo instead you post this video without even saying a word to me and now you have missed out on selling the xmen books…. 🤯

Quick get rid of those X-Men books, that franchise is a real risk! Go all in on Doom Patrol and Omega Men, like you said those DC books are where it's at!

Wow, this was very enlightening. I anticipate brutality when it comes time to really downsize. There are some nice titles in there, particularly the X-men --- are all those just lower grade dupes, or are you getting out of X-Men? If so, what are you keeping?

How many books did you sell him? And what was the average price per book? Reason I ask is, let's say it's 300 books total. If u took a longbox of 300 books to say,,, 3 different comic stores, you would likely get 3 different max offers. I'd wager all 3 offers would be much less than $650. You obviously know this. For a month, I've been religiously going through all my 2010-2014 Marvel and DC. I stopped halfway through my Marvel bc I found too many more valuable Marvel Keys from 20-150 raw, and runs that are still getting 5-10 dollars per book, with the occasional homerun like Venom #1 (1st Jack O App) in all 4 prints, lol. The pink 4th printing is literally over 100 raw. So I stopped and focused on DC. Anyway, after pulling The New 52 Batman series, along with a cpl others, I was rdy to sell! Only problem is, I want more for my nm 9.6-9.8 candidate books. I'm selling a longbox of over 300 books. Best offer was 120 dollars. Worst was 50, lol. I'm looking for around 600, but would likely take 300. Listing these would be too much work, and who knows when they will sell. I did move my 1-16 Catwoman to a girl at work looking to get into reading The New 52 for 35 dollars, which is a little more than 2 a book. My next step is trying to move these to local Whatnot flippers or Facebook Marketppace. I'd like 2 a book, and would settle for even 1 a book if I was offered 300. It's tough trying to move the books to ppl looking to actually enjoy them. I don't wanna sell to someone just looking to profit off me.

The only people willing to buy collections like yours is resellers or flippers. And your potential 9.8 comics are still only worth a raw price.
