I also sold my DJI Mic 1 and upgraded to the DJI Mic 2. The intelligent noise-cancelling feature is incredibly convenient, and I love the sleek black translucent design of the new version. The battery life is impressive as well. I literally carry it with me everywhere I go!

what gain do you use when filming? When i clip it to my tshirt it never sounds as good as holding in near my mouth

All microphones work exactly like this, closer to your mouth the better, you can maybe get a lav mic to plugin to to help?

It feels like DJI researched where the point of diminishing return was at and the made a mic set that was RIGHT at that point. Cant be mad at that, especially when it’s well thought out for a solo creator or small crew.

I thought not having a locking mic jack would be kinda lacking and making them noticeably behind the rode go pro. But tbh it looks good enough plus the magnets it looks 10x better.

With NC the voice just sounds horrible. In my Opinion its not usable on the DJI Mic 2

sounds great? I don't know, sounds way too muffled and lacks any clarity and detail. As someone who's used better audio solutions you should notice. It's nowhere near any decent "normal" mic. Personally I could never used these if a normal mic, let's say in a studio or controlled situation is possible. On the run outside for sure but still, too muffled. Maybe you're affected by the missmatched mics which flaw was recently found by a youtuber. He has one that sounds dark and muffled like yours and the 2nd one sounds clearer, brighter, way more pleasant. Of course it would be bad if both you get are dark/muffled. DJI has very poor quality control from what I've seen from the Mic 1 and Action 3 with it's focus issue. Not sure if I could trust such a brand.

Can you share which RU-vidr you are referring to his/her video? I am really interested to see that difference between the 2 mics.

I came across a tip from another RU-vidr that mentioned enabling the low-cut setting can affect the low-frequency details of the audio. So, I decided to turn off the low-cut and indeed noticed an improvement in the richness of the audio. Overall, DJI maintains excellent audio quality.
