Well, the long awaited video. I've gotten so many questions about the Bayliss and I'm here to finally answer ya. It was tough to let the bike go, but an easy decision to move on. The V2 overall is an amazing machine, but not for my purposes anymore. It taught me so much and it brought me close to so many people. I'll never forget you, Doug.

I had the same situation. I had a V2 that I tricked out and rode on the track. I just bought a V4R. My first thought was wow this is a lot easier to ride and way more comfortable.

Yep even with all that power the overall geometry of the V4 platform is just such a higher starting point than the V2. Love the V2 engine though and the SF V2 is probably an incredible street bike

Interesting perspective .. I’ve been track day riding for years on 600 and then 1000 Honda and recently on a bayliss, i have found the position on the bayliss fine (and I’m a bit taller than you) and even comfortable compared to my blade with the riding engagement feeling like a bit like a 600 for that top end reward.

Curious to hear your thoughts on preference between the 998 and the 1103 V4. I've got a Bayliss, agree with your comments overall but I kind of like the brutish nature of it compared to an inline 4 or even v4. I think its quite nimble as well due to the weight and narrowness of the bike. Agree on torque coming on fast & transmission & lack of bubble. The narrowness of tank makes hooking a leg problematic and then you end up with more weight on the bars. It is eye candy though with the akra! Hope you get some track days soon on the R.

I just don’t enjoy it honestly. At least not on a Panigale. I think I’d like to get something small dumb and fun tho!

Whoa wait a second... your comparing at 959 v-twin supper sport to a full blown 1000cc / 1100cc superbike? Really ?? Thats just kinda dumb comparison. Like comparing a V6 auto to a V8 , no comparison.
