This week was definitely a good week for the profit margin. Before we get to that the first thing we do is stick to our root and hit a yard sale where we find an item for literally fifty cents and sell it for hundreds. Next, I show an item we bought about a month ago and it sells for thousands of dollars as soon as we put it on eBay. Lastly, a guy comes into the pawn shop with vintage Nintendo items and silver coins even some Carson City Morgan dollars mixed in that we try to make a deal on. So if you enjoy everything reselling, this may be the channel for you.

Your Dad is always killing it with the gold at the yardsales...lol. I just got my best buy the other day. Bought a necklace for $3.50, and it ended up being 34 grams of 14k gold. Sold it for $1200...Blew my mind. You are inspiring me buddy. 🎉😊

I started picking in late 1980s. No ebay. No internet. No digital camera. No cellphone. Had to learn from books. Took me years to become pretty good at appraising stuff. Also learned the hard way by accidentally buying expensive junks. Occasionally, when finding an interesting stuff, had to take photos with my camera. Developed it in 1 day. Sent the photos to an expert by mail. After spending 3 nights in a local motel, got a call to my room from the expert telling me it was a good fake, hahaha. But I once also found a painting in an old house, paid around $50 and later I sold it in Christies for around $50,000. Nowadays it is very easy to check on the values of most stuff within seconds. Guys in the 20s could be expert armed with ebay website only

@@yassircherkaoui5197 we have something called car boot sales. We essentially just turn fields or car parks into one huge yard sale. It’s super rare to see someone doing it from their front yard these days.

I think as a pawnshop dealer, and when jewelry comes in and you have the task of finding out its value and accordingly give a fair offer, the principles of honesty should apply in any situation, including outings to garage sales! Honesty and fairness should be extended beyond the walls of your shop. your name and reputation as an honest and fair pawn and gold dealer. I’m sure that the gold that you found at that garage sale would have been a great way to build and sustain a fair and honest report. Mindfulness and Kindness goes a long way.

Now personally, as i don't have a business and a youtube channel with the accompanying reputation to consider, i would not have offered her the same value as she might have gotten if she brought it into the shop but i would have explained "after the purchase" that i think it's worth a bit more than 50 cent and paid her more. Not a lot more mind you, but definitely at least $10, more if i had experience with gold and had a rough idea of it's value. Not gonna hate on anyone for scoring a great deal though unless there is some shady underhandedness going on like telling someone their item isn't worth what they are asking and talking them down. As that clearly didn't happen here i'll just say "great score pops".

That's the word..... "Put it in front of everybody in the world". In collecting, I've bought all over the world. Germany, UK, France, Czech Republic, Australia, etc., etc.. I've been an eBay addict since 1998. Shit, that's a 1/4 century already. I thought back then, this was the largest auction in the world and it was only 3 years old at that point. My how it has grown since. What little I've sold, I've sent Japanese recorded, 78rpm shellac records back to Japan and made a tidy profit. It (eBay) is a world-wide marketplace. Nuff said!
