I actually liked Nintendo land, if only because of the Donkey Kong game. I will say I haven't played it in the last few years, but I also haven't touched a WiiU in the last few years. But if I were to touch my WiiU, it wouldn't be to play Nintendo land, so I'll grant you that.
Ayy me and my brother love Nintendoland. We… LEGALLY played it on a computer the other day and where there’s no real Nintendo account on it, all the player characters have no heads lmao
To clarify, 3D All-Stars was never outright banned for Sunshine speedrunning, the initial choice was to give it its own SRC page with categories from all 3 individual games, until the Galaxy community decided to allow it on their main board, at which point 64 and Sunshine categories had to move too because it would be weird to only have 2 of the games on that common page. Since then it's been a separate tab on each Sunshine category, mainly because it has unique inconsistent glitches, like the timer sometimes stopping early in Sirena 6. It can save up to 30 seconds, we don't know how to prevent it or make it happen every time, and it's not always clear whether the timer stopped because of the glitch or because you actually cleaned enough of the beach. (Also it has significant input lag and you can't just mash through save prompts, so it's the worst version to run at top level, but with its load times it would quickly become mandatory for WR contenders)
The multiplayer games on Nintendo Land are some of my best experiences on Nintendo Land. You can't play it as often as almost any other game since they are all essentially minigames, but I've gotten the chance to play it multiple times a year in and always look forward to it! Especially Luigi's Ghost Mansion and Mario Chase, and the Metroid one is incredible!
ok Linkus mentioning the Wii disc drive has me thinking. We got the drive replaced on our launch Wii in like 2009-2010. Would the one they replaced it with be the faster one then?
I have a small story about Nintendo Land. When my wife and I started dating we played Minecraft a lot together and I wanted us to try something else (she’s picky with the kind of games she likes). Introduced her to Nintendo Land, she liked it so much that she had to get her friends over to play it. Now anytime any of her friends are over they always want to play Nintendo Land, specifically the animal crossing game. It was fun at first because I was unbeatable, but I started giving them tips and tricks after a few months of losing maybe one game anytime we played. Granted I still win more than lose because none of them are gamers, but it’s fun to taunt them until they beat me. Also I love the Wii U. Best console for emulation imo.
Everyone always talks about how the manta boss is weak to water. And it comes out of water. Do people forget that FLUDD is a pressure washer? Those things freaking hurt.😂
I woulda kept playing Nintendo Land if my WiiU still worked but my younger brother broke the game pad so I didn't get to keep playing it but I especially liked the zelda, yoshi, and donkey Kong minigames
Nintendo Land was pretty darn good. It just suffers from the same problem as every other multiplayer Wii U title. The asymmetrical experience with the Gamepad vs Controllers made it awkward to play.
