It's very clear a lot of effort went into this. 499$ for a simple 65% alu keyboard without any weights is definitely a hefty price though, considering boards like the neo80, with a copper weight for better sound and wireless capability, cost like 150$...
@@tomazzaman I'm sure some people are interested in your board, after all it's up to preference what boards people like. Since your video was very well explained for beginners, I just wanted to highlight that there is other options available, in case mechanical keyboard newcomers in the comments are unaware
That keyboard looks great and I like the choice of switches! Unfortunately, I can't afford something that nice because I just got fired from my job at the keyboard factory. They told me I wasn't putting in enough shifts.
$10,000 for a simple pcb is absolute insanity you got taken for a ride man. This is a keyboard pcb not a completely unique custom pcb for some experimental piece of electronics that has never been done before. ISO enter capability is very very common it's not the big deal made out here. There are pcb designers offer their services on geekhack in the $300-500usd range, such as Gondolindrim that made the pcb for the high end smith and rune iron180 keyboard which has even more features than your pcb such as alps switch capatibility and they paid in the $350-400 range for the design. Not to mention if you're not in any rush, there are so many resources and full out examples you can take inspiration from online that you could have just done this all yourself for just the cost of time and like $50 from pcbway
Here's a terrible but original dad joke: - Why did the water go to Niagara? - To water-fall Also here's my favorite one (for extra credit). Why are chickens so funny? Bu-kaw-s (“because” but sounds like a chicken)
What did the papa penne noodle say to the little macaroni when it asked to stay up late? ”No! *Italian fingers intensify* It's already PAST-A bed time!”
Why did the custom keyboard start a RU-vid channel? Because every time someone pressed 'Enter', it reminded them to comment and subscribe for better 'algorithmics'!
How do you know that a RU-vidr is successful? When he makes it past the ten-minute mark. :) What a great channel. And good editing. Love the keyboard! Keep up the great work. Now I want to get my own RU-vid Channel started already and hardware company. The sound of the keyboard is addicting.
Why did the keyboard get fired from the factory? Because it didn't put in enough shifts. So they wouldn't let it return or enter. They even changed the caps locks. What do you call a ChatGPT that's always getting into trouble? A ChatGPTastrophe!
Enjoying all the jokes in the comments, good luck everyone. I have two jokes, one in Croatian other in English. - hr - Dođe Mujo u doktora i kaže: "Doktore doktore, suzi mi oko." I doktor ga suzi. :) - eng - How do you comfort a JavaScript bug? You console it. p.s. Finding a good ISO keyboard is a blessing. Finding slo/cro keycaps, now thats a miracle.
My wife said that if I don't get off my computer and take out the trash, she's gonna slam my head on the keyboard. But I don’t give a fuskhhkxkhdkhhskhd
I went to the bookstore today and asked, "Can I buy a bookmark? Where can I find them here?" to the worker. The worker replied, "it's a bookstore... There's books everywhere.."
My mom said that if I don't get off my computer and stop watching your videos, she's gonna slam my head on the keyboard. But I don't give a fuskhhkxkhdkhhskhdhgkj
Best dad joke you say? Ok 🤔 hmmm.Ok I have one. A family of tomatoes were walking down the street but the baby tomato was lagging behind. So the papa tomato went over to him, squished him and shouted “KETCHUP”. Get it? There you go, I hope this fulfills the dad joke criteria. I even included one with shouting in it since you love shouting so much. OK Tomaž, till next time. Much love.
Not to take away the impressive result, I like it. But... $20K?... In 2018 there were many brands/websites selling ready-made PCBs or complete keyboards (most with ISO layout and on-firmware remapping available), open-source schematics and firmware running on hobbyist-programmable microcontrollers (ESP24/32) - with per-key backlight. Ducky is the first that comes to my mind, in the business since 2008, and very appreciated by customers. Cherry MX switches were all over the internet, red, blue and brown making the most appearance and available to buy mostly all year round. Cases, ok, custom design beats whatever is out there even today. I really can't explain how you managed to overspend the good part of $18K-$19K, or why. However, in the end it only matters what you have on hand and that you like it, congrats for managing to finish such a project, and thank you for sharing the story!
I know... What I meant is that I can't justify the choices made. I don't know what that PCB has or does better than any other keyboard PCB (granted, at the time). Again, the end result is awesome looking, probably performs flawlessly (given the price, I'd expect it to work like new even after 10 years). But the looks and (assumed) performance does not justify even half the price of hiring the engineers...
Ok but he literally did, just that - and more importantly, that 4(clearly) wasn’t the point of this video. The purpose was to promote his giveaway. With that said, if you knew, even a little, about custom keyboard manufacturing, you’d know where that $20k amount came from.
i am from europe and hate the iso layout. i prefer the longer left shift key because i use it the most and in games you don't have to move the pinkie finger too much to sptint or slow down
