I had left my switch unattended while playing a different game. After finishing the game, I looked back at my switch to literally see a shiny lechonk just waiting and staring at me to come back. It was honestly probably one of the coolest yet funniest ways to find a shiny by staying still lol.

I found this game so much more fun when you just slow down. Instead of running straight from point A to B I just walked in areas let my Pokémon out and let them play in water ext. it just felt better to not fly around everywhere and just be more “grounded”

I'd never been a shiny hunter. I always just traded for the shinies that I like. This game changed that. Just watching this video makes me so happy for you. Thanks for making this.

Just a hint for anyone playing Scarlet and Violet. If you are in the tunnels, wiggle your camera around too look in the walls or use the lock on feature to scan the walls. The ground extends quite a bit out, and even the ceiling counts as a spawn-able area. First time in the tunnels, I noticed movement above me, and it was a salandit. I decided to check the walls, and I found a female salandit within the walls. The respawns seem to be slow, because they are spawning out of view on the other side of the walls.

As soon as I started the game, I saw sandygast and knew i needed a shiny one. Its got such a beautiful and eerie shiny. After an hour and a half of just using a ground type sandwich, I got my shiny sandygast and named her "Sand-Ghastle". Shes essential to my team and she was my first shiny in Violet 💛🖤💙

My first random shiny in gen 9 ended up being a Mareep. I was doing challenge where my friend made a team for me and vice versa. Im just going around battling and catching Mareep because i wanted one with a more ideal nature. It caught me off guard seeing a pink sheep just wandering around

PSA for you and anyone else out there in a similar situation: Just wanna let you know, there IS an option in the option menu if this game to turn off the prompt you get when a Pokemon in your party wants to learn a new move. Normally, I think it's better to leave the prompt on but in your specific scenario, where you have a bunch of baby Pokemon leveling up and learning lots of stuff quickly, that's when it's best to turn those off.. Unfortunately, there's still no mass release option which is BS imo... PLA had that option! Why would you not implement that?! It can't be too hard to do! 😖

I honestly love these games. The story caught my attention and I didn’t want to let go. The characters felt relatable for me. Bugs aside, these are one of the best ever. Also I got to name my grass cat Morgana after my favorite game of all time Persona 5 Royal!

I got a shiny Tinkatink too with full odds on my first playthrough, and the joy in your voice is exactly how I sounded! Super proud for you, even if this kinda thing is normal!

Yeah, steel types looking metallic in this gen look so good. I found a shiny scyther and got a friend to help me evolve it into a scizor and I love him. The shade of green in other games is OK, but make it look metallic and it looks amazing

I remember my first shiny in this game and it was a shiny Cetoddle that was just running around in the background while I was battling an Axew and I went: "Is that a shiny or is it just the lighting?" But thankfully it was a shiny and I named it Pearl :')

I still haven't gotten my first gen 9 shiny yet after around 60 hours, but after this, i'm beyond determined to get one great stuff as always, noki and even though shiny charcadet isn't the most overwhelmingly great shiny, i've decided it's my target now and i'll update here once i've got it in my grubby little mitts lmao update: i ran out of space in my boxes for eggs and i found a full odds shiny lokix instead lmao, but i mean hey a shiny is a shiny !

I can hard relate to the Finizen thing, cause I had a heart attack when I realised they despond really quickly once you're out of sight, so I made the effort to travel around every reset, was tedious but I was luckily rewarded with two beautiful purple dolphins after an hour or so

I love your narration, it’s like I’m hearing my own thoughts - about the glitches I too have experienced, about the Minecraft Pokémon… haha I found a shiny pig thing lol in the first hour or so of playing and I was very surprised but then also annoyed that I had to play the game with a normal type because it looked cool as a shiny. As a rule I don’t often tend to try play with any of the easier early encounters as they’re very common but it was a shiny so I kept it. Much later I found a shiny dugtrio and the game says I’ve battled a 3rd shiny but no idea what it was…

I started my own Shiny Nuzlock in Scarlet last night, I thought I was lucky getting the red spider within the first 1.5 hours. Seeing Mimik get it within a few minutes made me laugh.

I’ve watched this three times and I realize I’m living through you because I haven’t encountered one shiny (although I’m not trying very hard because I have no patience) so def just living through this 😂❤️

Shiny hunts usually bore the heck out of me but the narration in this video and the sinistea video is on the next level, you do an amazing job of capturing the anticipation and excitement of shiny hunting

I've only had the game for about a week. My only shiny I have found at full odds no less is a male snorunt... I have been trying to find out methods so I'm glad to find this video! So thank you for what you do!!

My first shiny was a random Charcadet I found while I had some fire encounter food active. I was only looking for a short one lol and while I was running up to one out by itself, my only thought before encountering it was "Were its eyes always blue?" Then I saw the sparkles :D I was hyped AF cuz I rarely ever get shiny Pokémon in entire playthroughs of games throughout the series, And I just got a new one :D

I love Tinkaton too! It was the only Pokémon I knew I wanted on my team prior to starting the game and the first one I ever run into was shiny. I doubt I'll ever have luck like that again!

It's a little late, but you can turn off learning moves in battle, and just customize the moveset in the menu after you're done training. It's in the settings

My craziest shiny moment was triple shiny Gyarados in a single outbreak. The second one spawned before I even caught the first one

Everyone's sharing their shiny stories, I'll share mine. In my ~90 hours of playtime, I have found two shinies. A Glimmora and....well, I'll leave the other unspoiled for now. So I found that Glimmora while trying to do that free shiny Flutter Mane glitch, that was pretty cool. It's fittingly named "WHAT" and it sits in Box 6 for eternity. The second? Let me explain the full story... So I was doing Tera Raids, and I was heading to this Ghost-type one near Medali. There's a herd of Sudowoodo. I accidentally run into one on Koraidon-- hold on, did it just sparkle? But it's not s- IT'S A SHINY ZORUA! I caught it in my Master Ball. It's lovingly named "Sudowoodo" and it sits in my breeding box or something. By the way, this video gives me inspiration to shiny hunt because I have also not completed the Pokedex yet. :D

Had no idea this game would have such fun shiny hunts. I've spent 80 hours of the game hunting shiny pokemon. I'm still half way through the story and I already caught 2 Rufflets, traded one for a shiny Hawlucha my friend found, 3 Orth worms, 1 Noibat, 1 Misdreavus, 1 Flittle and a sinistea which was the hardest due to how tiny it is. No way in hell I'm pulling what you pulled in Sword and shield here, it was hard as it is. I do wonder, is mine even an authentic one. I don't got items to check yet, I need to check but most likely a phony version. Let's keep hunting! Can't wait to get the shiny charm. this is such a great video!! before i completed the dex i had 65 hours in the game without a shiny. i got a full odds shiny toxel then i got the charm and now (2 days later) i have 7 shinies 😭 i was only actively seeking 3 of them but its so great. random shinies make me wanna play more, they add a sense of excitement for me:)

22:36 the second I saw that Eiscue, I felt pure rage because it took me TWO weeks of hatching eiscue eggs, WITH: Foreign Language Ditto, Flame Body Talonflame, SHINY CHARM. It took me to go to where they spawb, pop a sparkling power 3, ice encounter 3 sandwich, and reach the last 5 minutes of it to get the stupid bird. And what happens when I come back from a break cause of burnout? Another one appears. I named it Devil Bird. But otherwise, great video!!

18:25 A little tip. You can actually turn off learning level-up moves in the settings in this game. That was something I learned kinda recently when I actually decided to look through all the different settings for the first time. ^^

I was grinding sinistea chips outside Alfornads to evolve my Charcadet into Ceruledge, and while I was riding back and forth when I suddenly saw, chilling on the cliff, a shiny Toxtricity, who just so happened to be my favorite gen 8 pokemon. I actually tried breeding for one back in Shield but my shiny luck is almost never great, so I gave up. And then, years later, there was one standing right in front of me. I managed to catch it first try, and though it was too high level for me to use, I still adore him. I named him Serj Jr., after my original Toxtricity in my playthrough of Shield

I just found my first ever full odds shiny and I just want to thank you for getting me into the completionist mood, because if I hadn’t been in that mood, I would’ve never gone back to area zero for the paradox Pokémon and would have never found that shiny.

I remember just thinking if shinies were actually seeable and if there was an indicator of them as I went through the first area, and just as I wondered that I saw an Azurill that was... oddly green under that tree by the stream. Battled it to double-check and now I have the bouncy green little fellow. Ended up with like five shinies by now, all randomly stumbled into. Without the shiny charm and all that. I ALSO have a shiny cetoddle, and I really, really wasn't sure if it was different or just in the shade of the tree it was under, but I was never happier about checking something.

Noki, I'm watching this late bc I wanted to beat the game before watching any videos on it, but you can turn move learning off in the settings! Then it'll just go in the Pokemon's repetoire of moves and you can adjust them later. It helps prevent all that move learning if you forget to swap out newly hatched Pokemon!

First random shiny I find in this game and it was Shinx, Luxray is my favorite pokemon of all time. Froslass is also one of my favorites and the only other random full-odds shiny I've found so far was a female Snorunt. I'm still working towards completing the dex (first time I'll ever do it) so I can pick up shiny hunting for real because this game made me realize how much fun it can be

Also bronzong is one of my favourites too. And kudos because ice and steel types are my favourite so you loving frosslass and bronzong and magnemite is awesome. I know I’d be a steel trainer irl if it came down to it. Metagross, Magneton, Skarmory, Ferrothorn, Bronzong and Scizor would be my team I reckon

After watching this and decided to put some determination on getting shiny before the finishing the game. The first I started with is the froslass with a mass outbreak coincidentally which was also my favorite since gen 4 was my first pokemon and on my way to it I encountered a shiny Bronzong and after 40+ min on outbreak I finally got a shiny froslass. This video was a blessing somehow.😊

I got a shiny Primeape like 3-4 hours into the game. I was just exploring and getting into areas I didn't need to be in. It was level 30 and my highest was 20, I saved before thinking if it wipes my team I will just reset. Totally didn't realize it was shiny, it wiped my team and I turned off the game. Then a WAVE of regret passed over me as I realized that it was a Shiny. That is when I realized that Shinies stay if you save and I got my boi. Went through most of the game with a Shiny Annihilape on my team and man do I love that thing. Literally IMO the best new Pokemon design. Also it is crazy that just having the game downloaded to my switch prevented like 90% of the issues everyone with a phyiscal copy was having. The optimization is so bad its crazy.

You know why Bronzong is special to me? It actually was my first every shiny. I will never forget this, it was a full odd random shiny I just ran in, in Pokemon Platinum. It was awsome :D

im a completionist, so i like to segment an area and "scan" it for items, etc. ive probably been in the red canyon area with the klawf titan for way longer than i should because its got a lot of winding roads and caves lmao. and then, i see a shiny shinx. my first full odds shiny for this game lmao a few days have passed, and i took some time off the game and picked it up again. and i was about to wrap up covering that area and then i see ANOTHER FULL ODDS shiny shinx 😭. caught the first onenin a premier ball so i caught this one in a luxury ball instead and gave it to my younger brother. this game has a good balance of "not super impossible shiny" and "still a bit hard to get so your random lucky breaks will be memorable!" i love it!
