I really don't see the big deal with this video. The only thing I can say is that this video should've been a lot longer, as everyone is saying that there's a lot more to this country than shown here, and that it would've been nice to see him give stuff to people in the video itself to see their reactions.
It's not that bad. Keep in mind these hype content creators are watched by privileged kids used to RU-vidrs showing off expensive stuff and that affording such stuff makes you cool.
No, it’s human zoo tourism. Where privileged people want to see poor people as animals and see how they feed themselves or live to entertain their disdain.
It's truly ignorant of him to think that poverty didn't exist before he took this trip. It just goes to show how much more we need to educate ourselves and be more aware of the world around us
of course he knew poverty existed. he literally said he's going to the poorest country. he knew the concept, but not its depth. i take it as he knew the idea, but didn't know the extent of it. sometimes we all don't really know until we fully immerse ourselves in it.
@@jorami4838 knowing and experiencing are two things. Most people "know" there are poor people, a lot fewer actually go to them or try to help them. But I do get it, this guy does it for the views, not the love.
@@randothecrambo7842 is this a serious reply or do you actually not understand? because if you don't understand what he's saying then you should not have access to the internet

I've been pissing myself laughing at this for like 20 minutes straight. The mix of MrBeast copycat editing and the total lack of self awareness is truly one of a kind. This is the best video ever put on the Internet. LMFAO
the problem here is lads even if he had good intentions, the way he went about it made him look incredibly disingenious, i can give him the benefit of the doubt and say he didnt have any ulterior motives and is just trying to spread awareness and raise money but that doesnt excuse the complete lack of respect he treated these people with.
Yeah the while time he's like "wow you're this poor? You do this? No way!" Just rubs me the wrong way. It's like he's never been in a developing country before, or thinks the viewers haven't

I used to live in a village when I was around 10-14 years old, let me tell you this walking around barefoot was a good experience I didn't feel any sharp stones, didn't want to wear shoes because I felt free than to be walking in shoes I totally loved it.
It is not “good”, it does not matter if the ground was littered with sharp objects and trash, the ground is still ultimately dirty, and filled with bacteria. And you walking before is just letting that bacteria enter your body.
@@emdrake04 it's a nice story, however I'm going to put my entitled opinion out there. I sure hope a creep doesn't comment back to me about how entitled I am
@ it does, tourism help create a market, and that market fuels a economy making the country look better, and makes companies want to invest in the region.
I love your Videos but this video is kind of showing one side of the country. I am Burundian, and i have lived in Burundi for most of my life, i am 25 and trust me there is much more to see from that. Even if we are regarded as the poorest country there is definitely a better side to show. Everyone comes to the country and shows the poorer side. Every country has a poor side. This video felt like going to the US and just filming the homeless people to show the negative side. You did not show anything positive. Neither did you show any snipet of the capital city and the beautiful places we have. If you had it hit up someone else, or if i would taken you around, i am definitely sure you would have appreciated way more. If you read this Fidias, reach out so that we can show the better and beautiful side. It’s sad that you have showed that side of the country. Because there is wayyyyy more. Anyone reading this, there is much more to Burundi than that.
I think Africa is the most beautiful continent, just because people think it's poor it doesn't mean that you shouldn't visit it. My cousin was born in Tanzania because my aunt couldn't stop visiting it!
How it's disrespectful, what if he treated them like normal human? Then it would seem as a normal photo. Racism is in the eyes of people that are hating on him. What's the point of respecting black people when you can't do normal shit like posing challenge video thumbnails with them?
@ he does that with white and rich people too, so white and rich people are props too? He doesn't see black people with any different eyes, so there's no question of using them. He sees them for what they are, normal humans.
love it how he says that less than 10% of the people have acces to the internet while there is a man in the background waving with a phone in his hands...
Sir,he started a fund raiser for 20k dollars to help the country, and he is maching donations,so he is giving away 20k,and he spent his money helping the people in the video
@@jutsu712 20k will do stuff,if a hair good haircut cost 50 cents in a country compared to a it costing 20 dollars in the usa, then tha5 means you will probably not going to see more then like 500 dollars in your life and if 20k dollars is 41,141,220 burundi money then therre is probably inflation and corruption and if there is corruption then there will only be things for people to live of from sometimes
How gone as a society are we where this guy is making money by monetizing ads on a video of him “slumming it” in the worlds poorest country like some kind of challenge video?? Savior complex if I’ve ever seen one and a need to be worshipped for it just disgusting
Je is helping the people, and he is maching donations to a fundraiser and since this video will not make more then like 10k this would be a loss for him as a video if 10k/550k viewers donated 2 dollars
He needs to make a video that gets views so this matter can get more publicized and he also opened a fundraiser for 20k and will be matching donations for the first 10k donations and he got 600k views thats 2k at max do he is loosing 8k from doing this thats more then ur entire family's monthly salary combined so first watch the video before trash talking it
Nope, 1, cancel culture at its finest, and 2, he was educating them of what’s in more fortunate country’s and that can actually inspire a lot of kids to work harder to get to that point to. @@reallarwaz i like how people complain about cancel culture but they do it themselves it funny also fidias isnt american his country might talk like that tbh i see hes trying to help but if people wont understand that
Fidias, to be honest you really misscharacterized the country. This is not completely your fault, but you should have been aware, that in four days you would not get an accurate impression. I, for example am in the middle of a voluntary service in Dar-es-salaam in the neighboring country of Tanzania. I am living in a modernly-built apartment, in a complex with many students, wo are neither really rich, nor poor. They, so as me, live in a nice place, where the biggest problem is, that sometimes there is no water or electricity for a few hours. Such people exist, and there are many of them. But most people treat the countries as if there were only very poor people here. This kind of missrepresentation in my opinion Leads to the countries not being seen as equals in the global community. There are poor people here, whom we should help, but we should never forget that there are also many people here, who can stand on their own legs, and this is why we should view the countries as equals not as our little projects. I would have wished for you to make this a bit clearer even though I of course really like that you try your best to support the efforts to equality of chances around the world. Let’s all hope that the planned unification of Tanzania, Burundi, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, and DR Congo is successful, so that a new economically strong country in Africa is born.
@M Y T H I C A L N O V A the fact that you cant see the issue with a video where he goes and tours around the poorest country. he looks like a fucking bad borat bit

It’s also completely baffling that he was so surprised poor people exist, which clearly shows that he was born with a silver spoon shoved up his ass and has never struggled financially.
People are accusing MrBeast of Poverty Tourism while this guy who made a video relating more to the subject, literally did not get as much attention as MrBeast did.

@@solsol9515 my brother in Christ being from a particular place doesn't just make you stupid i doubt that statistic but if it's true then i'd reckon it's due to a lack of education rather than actual stupidity
@@solsol9515 the reason why the average IQ is (apparently) 69 is because of lack of education, and they lack education because of poverty. Their poverty is also because of historical situations and not because they're somehow worse. Also, as for the achievements, if they have access to little to no resources, how do you expect they'd even have a chance to advance in the first place? Stop being so ignorant.
