Beautiful systems, sir. Well done. As someone who once wanted to create a spherical world playspace for a PvP game, this would have made nice looking planet icons.
I built something very similar to this in WebGL years ago. None of the code works anymore (the underlying APIs have drastically changed) and it wasn't quite as high quality as yours are here. Man, I really want to revive that project now.
Hey! Wirklich tolles add on 👍 Gibt es schon ein ungefähres Datum für die Planetenringe? Ist das Einzige was mir für mein Projekt noch fehlt und ich würde es bevorzugen wenn alles aus einem Guss kommt! :)
The planets look beautiful. However, changing the end clip to even hundreds of millions doesn't show the planet in render..do you have any ideas what I might need to do?
I also had this trouble BUT i figured out solution and the answer Adjust "Clip End" under "Lens" in the Camera's Data tab (Object Data Properties) and adjust Clip End to 100000 m
Okay... Wow.
Also wenn du sicher gehen willst.
And if someone wants to use these 2d planet 'cards' as initial planet views before dropping down to the actual playspace, a visual wipe can be done with a re-entry blast effect while loading the play level.
Can I make a suggestion? Pair it with a sun in the background depending on the angle, I want to do a scene with the planet and the sun in the background.
This looks simply amazing! ^_^ Are you familiar with an Orbital Ring or a Dyson Sphere? It's basically a group of satellites or a ring like structure, sometimes event an entire space station, that is built with the intent of encircling a planet or star, it's often featured in science fiction, but does exist as a theoretical means to alter a planet's atmosphere. For an example, though a bit outrageous, some scientists have theorized that it might be possible to make Venus habitable, by encircling it with mirrors that could redirect the sunlight, how the heck that would work is beyond me, but it would be considered as a type of Dyson Sphere. Since you mentioned that your planning to add planetary rings and asteroids, I figured it might be worth suggesting Orbital Rings and Dyson Spheres, maybe having a custom mesh array around the image or something.
Hi MLT studios. Thank you for the Addon and super nice tutorials. As awesome as the addon is, there are a lot of incompatiblities. As some comments mentioned below, I tried running the addon in blender 3.0 and 3.2, the planet won't work. I ran it in 3.6 and it worked, but stopped working again when I imported my 3.0 file. The addon always display "This directory does not exist." even if I select the right folder which made it work before I imported my file.
Blender changed the mix Color node I think in 3.4. The Addon was created in 3.5, so whenever you try it with a version lower then 3.4, it won’t find the new nodes. You can change all the mix Color nodes in the library.blend that comes with the Addon, to have it work in earlier versions.
This is by far the coolest Blender Addon I've ever used. The quality of the planets is just as good as of the ones you see in the newer StarWars films and series. The planet doesn't seem to appear in the camera view. Is this because of the limitaions of the free version or is it a bug (I'm using MacOS, so yeah...)?
Thanks for sharing nice Addons. I created the Planet with Addons. I assigned a camera to the scene. I applied "Align Active Camera to View" and tried to adjust the camera manually, but the planet did not appear in the camera. What would be the reason. Thanks.
Hey , that's amazinnng ! but don't work with me i'm sad, i wanted to try the free version but when i click on new: the planet is a white plane with a white background. Can you help me please ?
You cant. For the clouds to look nice, they need to have the proper shadows, which are prerendered. So when you rotate the clouds, the shadow would not work anymore. Sorry
Awesome work, and thanks so much for doing a limited trial version too, looking forward to trying it out :] could I ask where u got that HD texture of Mars from?
There is a site, where a lot of the textures from our solarsystem are available for free. Don’t know the exact name, but there you’ll also get a earth texture. Btw. The plan for the Free version is to not have a time limit. You should be able to use it as long as you like, also for commercial stuff
I'd be happy to put it to the test also, and if it works as well as I hope, but an entyr in the credits of my next epissode on youtube. I have a scifi animation series there and I routinel;y have planets in the background of my video shots. ru-vid.com
I thought I mentioned that in the Video. Also, it is disclaimed in the product description. But yea, the planets are just 2D. Otherwise I haven’t found a way to get real time result like you currently get.
@@mlt-studios Nope It's Not Working There Is White Screen When I Set Up The Stars And Planet IS Just White Plane With Black Circle On It. I Really Want To Support You And Can You Fix That Please And I Might Buy The Addon. ❤❤
@@AYAANANSARI-n5e my guess ist, that the problem lies with the mixRGB node in the Planet material. In One of the 3.X version they changed the node somewhat. It is now called the Color mix node I think.
Hi I just bought the basic version and using on my mac but I can't seem to get it to work even when following the instructions. My problem is that the add-on doesn't add when I try select the .py files when adding in blender. It does say it's added but doesn't show up in the add ons for me to activate. Is there a way to fix this? @MLTsudios
Hey, did you leave it in the .zip folder? You have to install it, by going to edit > preferences > install > and then choose the .zip folder. If you've unziped the folder and you try just the .py files, this should not work
@@mlt-studios Ok so on Mac it unzips the file automatically, so I compressed it again and then I could select it and install (and activate) in Blender. I now have the custom planet tab.. However it says select the CP file and I am unable to select the zip file again or select the CP images file. What one should I be selecting here? Thank you.
I redownloaded the zip file and went through the process again. When I enable add-on it says that the script was written with Blender 3.5.0 and may not function correctly
@@conorbroughton can you tell me what the error messages says? In the Custom Planet Tab you have to choose the folder containing the .cp file, not the .cp file itself. The folder should be unzipped.
