Happy Holidays!! My gift to you is another planet zoo video lol. This is the 2nd part to the 100-year zoo series. And some really neat stuff happens in this one, so I hope you enjoy!
So, a lot of people are mentioning the dlcs and I just want to say that chances are you (probably) won't see any in this zoo. But I specifically designed this zoo so that I could use most of the animals from the base game and when it's done, I plan on getting the dlcs. I'll probably buy them this weekend if they go on sale for the holidays lol.
Today the sensei has taught me the art of rock clusters. I need to get on that for my habitats! Been working on two of my favorite habitats so far. Red Pandas inside a giant dome, the whole habitat is sunk so that guests can see them climbing. My Clouded Leopards (I forget what DLC) got a double decker shelter in which the guests can see! That cave is probably my favorite part. Remember that animal talks exist! They boost education a lot.
Fun fact: Lion, tigers, jaguars, leopards and snow leopards are all big cats, as they are members of the Panthera genus and are able to roar, which are the defining traits of big cats. All other cats such as cougars and cheetahs are referred to as 'little cats' since they cannot roar, but instead purr, and are more closely related to domestic house cats than the big cats. Clouded leopards, however are neither big or little cats, and are considered the bridge between the two families of cats.
So tip; I’ve noticed if an animal’s enrichment ends up too close to a barrier, any animals that play with it may end up with an accidental escape via glitch when they’re done playing with the enrichment (be it food or toy) so resetting the movable enrichments or moving them to where they won’t roll too close to barriers helps with this. Dunno if that was YOUR issue, but maybe check on it?
I'm so impressed with all the idea you come up with for the habitat. Your series is so inspiring and I wanna start to my my habitat look as pretty as well ahh
A tip is every time an animal has offspring you name one of them (H) for heir. Everyone else cant have offspring but that one can. This way you will still have on going generations but not too many pop ups!😊
If you haven't already found out, highlighting your entire zoo and turning off climbing will help reduce lag, by default a lot of buildings and things that aren't ever even in habitats are technically climbable, and I guess it clutters up processes on the back end. You just have to turn the specific things that you want to be climbable back on.
cute video though and nice zoo! 😀 you should make dedicated groups for each zone of habitats and put a keeper hut or two in each zone so the staff especially keepers don't have to walk so far to get to the habitats :)
I feel like if you deleted the front large clusters and sparsed up the little ones it'd look more natural, like the rocky cliffs in california - a californian
This might seem like a dumb question, but what set up do people have to play this game? I’m saving up for a desktop set up that can handle games like this and baldurs gate but I’ve seen a lot of people have custom made computers. Are there decent pre-made computers out there that can handle these games?
I don’t know if you know or not but you can make any fence barrier, a window or one way glass in the settings menu on the bottom right when building Great build btw keep up the great work
For me the worst animal in animal planet is okapi. It need large amount of area and once i place another okapi or another species the area it needed raise in unbeliveble amount
Rewatching now that im Awake and its very fun If you ever decide to get some dlc i would recommend getting it on sale and getting either the Conservation pack or the Aquatic pack for the build items / faux rocks Dont feel pressured tho its your money and as much as i would love to see dlc animal habitats from you its not the end of the world if i dont
Most of the DLCs actually have 5 animals (1 of which is an exhibit), but those come with great new building pieces! Out of the 16 DLCs we have 6 Animal Packs (7 habitat animals +1 exhibit) and 10 scenery packs (4 habitat animals +1 exhibit + building pieces and foliage)
it’s bad practice to make the habitats much larger than minimum size, bc it limits animal visibility for the guests and also makes it far more time consuming to decorate, as well as making your zoo much more spread out which leads to a bunch of guest and staff unhappiness because of how much walking they need to do
