No one ever talks about how Jayfeather created the tribe and basically created the clans as a result. No wonder Starclan said he was probably more powerful than them, he might as well be cat god.
I'm also wondering why Dovewing and Lionblaze needed their powers though. What special thing did they do in the Great Battle that they couldn't have done as ordinary warriors? 🤔
@@blondeashfur3445 it would've been a cool idea if, because of their powers, everyone basically worshiped them and saw them as gods beyond Starclan or smth. Then Starclan gets upset and tries to kill the Three, but that doesn't work obviously bc main characters. Like, making Dovewing all hearing. She could hear everything, maybe even hear Starclan cats. Lionblaze being all powerful, he cannot die and can kill any cat that threatens ThunderClan. Jayfeather could be all feeling, he can sense others emotions very well and he could use that against other cats. 🐈 But I guess that's too ridiculous for the Erin's to do.
If the Tribe is meant to be interpreted as the cat equivalent to native Americans, doesn't that mean that in human terms, this would be a modern American time-traveling and somehow creating indigenous folk?
@@graphitetailgrace3870 They're based off of indigenous peoples? This makes they're characterization as helpless and not being allowed they're own society even WORSE!!!!
Jayfeather, finally in starclan after he dies in arc 15: Hey everyone I'd like you to meet my girlfriend, Halfmoon! She's 200 years old and I met her in a dream when I was 13.
I spoil the forgotten warrior for everyone be like: Turns out Hollyleaf was hiding in the forest outside thunderclan territory and nobody picked up any scent until 5 books later😶
I am still honestly quite baffled by the fact that Jayfeather straight up dismisses Briarlight as a potential partner. He always seemed to care for her more than as if she was just a patient so it was quite shocking when he straight up went "Nah, I prefer the woman that has been dead for longer than any cat can remember" . I guess it comes from the Firestar side of the family.
I genuinely believe that Jayfeather's blasts to the past are just vivid hallucinations brought on by some form of psychosis. It would make more sense than whatever time-traveling paradox aspect the erins are trying to push.
Half Moon recognizes Jayfeather in The Last Hope though, and Jayfeather recognizes Half Moon. This means that Jayfeather is having hallucinations that are 100% accurate to something that happened like 200 years ago. Your theory still stands, but I would like to see if you can explain this. I'm a bit of a newer reader so I may be wrong lol
@@brimstone9602 /shrugs/ could still be a explained away as a hallucination, I'm sure. Or perhaps Jayfeather's powers only allowed him to see events that happened in a past life, which would make more sense than him actually astral projecting and traveling back in time to fufill the events himself in some convoluted paradoxical instance.
@@BatFlightThylacine Yeah, I feel like what happened was just Jayfeather living through memories of his past life but not actually being physically there. IDK though, but your theory is pretty good
@@BatFlightThylacine that‘d be really fun actually. Could be a bit of a mindfuck if we run with the idea that Jayfeather actually isn‘t sure wether he was an active player or just observed his past self. I‘ve always kinda hated the time travel stuff because it was just so weird and convoluted. It also ties very nicely into his already existing powers - or at least more so than whatever was going on in canon.
Fun as always! This video made me realize that the most interesting thing about this book is the obvious implication that Jayfeather does experience attraction and probably craves it (based on how quickly he gets with someone) but Thunderclan is ableist and forced him to be a nun. I wonder if we'll ever get elderly angsty Jayfeather who's angry that he's done so much for the clan and the tribes but they forced him to give up things he deeply wanted (not just romance, but being a warrior and the freedom that allows in general).
I actually headcanon Jayfeather as Aro+Ace, and since the only time he's ever described as feeling any kind of attraction is with Half-Moon I like to think that she's a compallo crush who he feels in love with specifically /because/ she is several levels of unattainable.
@@aggressivelyme9657 That makes sense and is a cool headcanon! As someone that's asexual myself it would be neat. I suppose it would sort of be the equivalent to a human suddenly going back and time and have the option to romance some historical or religious figure.
Yeah,. i didn't go into much detail but earlier in the book he is implied to be jealous of Lionblaze's relationship with Cinderheart-- Wishing he had someone like that-- that's the scene where he decides briarlight couldn't be that cat for him. No reason provided though. it's probably intended as foreshadowing for his feelings for half moon later in the book.
Although ThunderClan was ableist in general towards Jayfeather, they didn't force him to become a nun. Leafpool and Spottedleaf pressured him into nunhood, but it was still ultimately his own choice (albeit one heavily influenced by that ableism being internalized).
"There is NOTHING Jayfeather hates more than athiests, so he gets so mad that he has a vision of all his ancestors and friends being flushed down a toilet" -Moonkitti, 2022
Dove and Ivy's warrior ceremony was funny to me. It really does feel like that quite a bit in the books, thinking an apprentice is still a child then boom! adult! (I have that mainly with background characters. It's too easy to forget ages...)
can we please talk about how cute dovewing is in this? So fluffy and soft, i want to hug her edit: i have no memory of writing this 2 years ago but based as hell past me
*Jayfeather:* why tf is Ashfur in StarClan when there's a perfectly good cat hell right next door? *StarClan:* gonna need you to hop all the way off my back about that. *Jayfeather:* okay lemme get offa that thing. *The fandom:* I guess getting into StarClan is super easy, barely an inconvenience.
@@thegreatauthoress4570 "so you're telling me there's a trial?" "Yes." "Oh okay how does the trial work?" "Oh well a bunch of cats who have committed some crime against the warrior code judge the deceased to see if they can go to heaven or not." "Wow wow wow wow wow. So cats like Squirrelflight should get in super easy right?" "ACTUALLY they're gonna really grill her and Leafpool even though they told her and Leafpool to break the rules." "Wait what?"
Jayfeather just... Walking. *Ashfur flies overhead with his long, flowing blonde locks blowing heroically in the wind* Jayfeather: this is normal. Edit: Omg tysm for the likes I've never gotten to 50 :D
I was waiting for this for a long time when I was reading omen of the stars you did me so much because of you I was inspired to read warrior cats thank you for making these amazing videos
This seties feels like a fever dream because my mind remembers some vague bits but at the same time it's been a few years since I read this any of these books LMAO
There is no escape for Dovewing. She is cursed to forever have clanmates and fans loving her. Man, wish I was that popular. *looks over at Bumblestripe* You know what?! Never mind...
I always found it a little creepy that Half Moon was always waiting for Jay's Wing. Jay's Wing existed before Jayfeather took his place; he and Half Moon grew up together. She had a history with him and that's why she was so open with him in a way that she wouldn't have been with a stranger. Sure, she must've found out the ruse when she died and I guess she was fine with it, but it just rubbed me the wrong way that he conducted a romance pretending to be somebody's childhood friend.
id love to know more of ur thoughts on jayfeather being the entire history of the tribe, essentially. u seem to have some opinions on it due to tone LOL i can assume why its kind of an annoying plot point and kind of sort of totally a massive paradox but if you need any more video ideas....... :p
@@whatdoyoucallanalligatorin9174 Because the editors 'story team' just wants them to churn them out for $ it feels like at this point and probably several arcs ago? I could be wrong, but it happens with a lot of popular franchise be it books, tv series, or movies, etc. You CAN have too much of a good thing to the point its not as good anymore or not good at all?
@@delubayca1290 exactly! I'm pretty sure that the Sisters crap with abandoning male kits was put there just for the sake of giving them an immoral flaw.
Thank you for making these Moonkitti! Every time I finish a book a go on RU-vid and I’m like, “Moonkitti I spoil!!! Go!” And I love it! Thanks you and please keep this series going!
I didn’t understand how Crag, now the new stone teller, knew about herbs. I expected jay feather to atleast SHOW him something. BUT I guess all the tribe cats know herbs now……….
Did anyone else notice how dovewing’s tail is shaped like a little wing? I love it! (Also great vid and I also love your antpelt design and blossomfall design!)
Tiger and bumble: "Hi." Dovewing: "NONONONONONONONONONONONO!" hahahahahaha! the fact that you can make what actually happens in the books this funny is funny in itself! Long live Moonkitty!
im srry but the fact that i have not read this just makes it so much better because i dont know the extent of your exaggeration so i am literally picturing this rope-lowering-cat operation in the best way
I read the books like 5 to 6 years ago and besides the main plot i forgot a lot about them. Why though does it feel like things actually happend like this lmao
I think this was the exact book I stopped before. Cause I have 0 memory or this book that's actually from the book, and not just something Moon or other things have taught me. I seriously can't get over the amount of times these cats just come to the most outrageous conclusions from nothing. The sound effect for falling into the snow made me laugh every time
okay but like. what would have happened if jayfeather never did anything about the cats? Like, i guess they'd still have the tunnel test. It's not like they'd be in a different place, they basically went full circle. And the tribe wouldn't exist. DOTC wouldn't exist either, which makes me sad, but like. not much else would change.
Hello Moonkitti, I wanted to report that I cannot join your Patreon. I believe that it was an error, so I want to ask if you know what I can do to fix it? Thank you for reading!
Oh man, I love Starclan! They allowed Ashfur into Starclan for the attempted murder of 3 warriors and 1 recently appointed medicine cat! Totally doesn’t cause chaos, riiiiiggggghhhhht?
That guy who tried to kill 4 people? Sounds like an angel! Oh, that cat that had kids because we said it was ok and their sister we manipulated to pretend to be the kits’ mother? Hell.
