Same thing for me as what a previous commenter said. In Turkish culture no one cares if you chit chat with your female cousin, but marrying? You'll be disowned. This is the case in my family. Btw I never married my cousin I'm only speaking from intuition and based on threats. (At least for many people, I knew some Turks, at least 1 that married their cousin)

Halal is halal and haram is haram. Turks can do adultery and even pro$tituion is legal in turkey but they cann't marry their cousions, doesn't it make your people munafiq?

Lol in my culture speaking to my cousin is all fine👌 But marrying...🤮🤮 Edit:What I am doing here is mocking my culture. Im trying to underline the hypocrisy of allowing chit-chatting between cousins but no allowing marriage. I myself am not disgusted by cousins marriage.

Well you should look at genetically recessive diseases like thelesimia in Pakistan where first cousin marriage is common.. it cripples families and ruins lives. Inbreeding was allowed in the past because communities were smaller. Now we know why it's bad. Our understanding of Islam and applying it should be guided by reason, and using our reasoning is something the quran instructs us to do

In my culture we are forbidden from marrying cousins and find it gross people marry their cousins so this doesn’t apply to us.
