Thank you guys so much for 250,000 subscribers. I am so excited to launch this vending machine series. New video dropping tomorrow :) Don't build a business without a good business bank. I'm using Found, because they're an all-in-one platform that's super easy to use, with no hidden fees. Open an account with my code so they'll sponsor more videos from me: found.sjv.io/financialwolf
@financialwolf What was the time frame from you securing your the first location the auto shop to purchasing the machine? 3:35 If you don’t have a machine available when cold calling location should you let the owner/manager know a head of time.
Next time put an early removal clause so they have to pay for its removal. You did your part and gave 100% information and they made the decision once machine was placed
I cannot believe how unprofessional that manager was. Did he not read your email and check to see where he could place the machine? What an absolute joke
I used to work in a body shop, I was brought in specifically because these guys HATED dealing with calls, emails and anything computers. I am not surprised the manger had no soft skills.
@@willb7840 Came here to say this. I was a service consultant in many car dealerships over the span of 3 years. Zero soft skills, it really boggled my mind how many of them were in the positions they were in making the money they were making while having absolutely zero clue about the world around them. This manager was a moron.
I was hoping someone in the comments noticed that -- they weren't afraid to call out that guy's bullshit, and stayed professional while doing so. They also helped him out tremendously, had good attitudes about everything when they had to re-load it, they were solid dudes.
I had the same thing happen to me, that feeling of not knowing what to do with an expensive machine sucks. I would recommend making a Facebook marketplace post with a title something like "free vending machine for your business". That way you can be working at getting a location even when you don't have time to make cold calls.
That’s so frustrating man. He could have easily marked a 3x3 area on the floor where he wanted it to check to see if that was okay. Too bad your contract didn’t have an agreement on time frame and then you can have a section that imposes a penalty for taking it out early. Like $300-$500 for your troubles. But no fee if they leave it for 6-12 months. Then renew contract.
as a business owner this is so important to be showcased. I had to close down 2 businesses because of luck and my own shortcomings, but there is always something going wrong I think that the blogger/ yt community always tries to showcase the up and up but this day is what is more common in the business world I applaud that you always show like the issues that you encounter such as your turo car that you bought that was missrepresented, I like your content been following for years at this point. good luck on your future ventures
@@financialwolf maybe you could try to find a thinner vending machine and put it in the location so that you do not have to look for another one, just giving ideas!! ❤️
@@ramonmarcer I already spent $3,000 on the machine and I don’t really want to spend another few grand for another one so I think I’m gonna pass. I’m in talks with some apartment complexes right now which I think would make for a better location anyway
For your next clients, I would get a piece of cardboard so they can see how big it will actually be, specifically the length and width. That way you can strategize where to put it before you get it to the location.
Thank you for sharing the "real" with us. These are the setbacks that most people don't talk about. I'm glad you remained positive and kept pushing to get the job done. Kudos to you!!! Your an inspiration!
So many of us youtubers love to post the successes that we have so that we create the façade that we are doing well so people will follow us. Definitely was not expecting that ending but thank you for honestly documenting that whole process so transparently and showing the lessons learnt along the way. Your channel inspires me to create videos that are equally transparent and honest as well. Thanks for the video and see you in the next video!
Coming from a 13yr old bulk vendor, Ive had this happen to me before at one of my locations. A women wanted a coin operated arcade game and when we got one off of facebook marketplace, spent days fixing it and making it functional, she completely changed her mind. Hope you get more lucky in part 2 ❤❤
The value in the lesson she taught you plus what you learned and gained from making shit happen is worth far more than what that machine would've garnered at her location. Good job dude, don't stop there.
This is why I found the gumball machines to be a better business to start out. Easier to move machines, fix machines, and get new locations. Higher margins on gumballs too.
THE WOLF IS BACK!!! I'm starting a triple shop candy machine business currently, and just landed my first two locations at some local barber shops! I'm happy to see Will head back to the vending business, and I'm excited for the rest of this series!
Hey man, thank you for dropping this video! If you had a proper contract in place, this would never happen to you! I recommend you take an example from the more experienced ones and craft a contract that states clearly everything so you would not need to be the one suffering when assholes are changing their minds ;)
You had to write in the contract that if the owner did not want the machine he had to pay, it’s unprofessional to back down and have those guys bring the machine back, you had to state that in the contract or have him qt least pay the transport
For future locations it may be helpful to go to the location before delivery and measure and layout the dimensions of where it will go. This would help avoid this problem in the future. Although the manager should have done this himself it would save you from wasting time and money for those that dont and just say yes itle be fine
I absolutely love this video and it sucks how it ended. Wasn't expecting that. But I do have a genuine question. How can you say you started a vending machine business with $0 when you literally transferred $3000 to buy the vending machine? Am I missing something? I guess I was expecting something different from the title like, idk, you showing a way to fund it from a 3rd party or some program, idk.
I know you probably don't want to hear this but just because you sent a photo of it and the dimensions most people don't understand how big dimensions are on a sheet of paper especially 3 ft x 3 ft. Hopefully this lesson God gave you can teach you for the future that you need to send the email with the dimensions in the photo of it and then go to Home Depot and either get some painters tape or cardboard boxes to make a mocked-up version to bring into the waiting room so the owner can see it before it's delivered a day or two before delivery so this sort of thing doesn't happen again. Just a thought I commend you for keeping a positive mindset and pushing forward and not just giving up because you hit a speed bump or a pothole on the road especially with being as young as you are👍🤑
"I hate being called Buddy. That's how I know they don't you seriously." Huh, didn't know that! lol. Great vid by the way, always look forward to your uploads. Hope to see you go live some more. I would have been so pissed if I'd spent $3k just to have them say no! But I don't get it, you said starting it with $0 but the machine cost $3k which is a lot of money. Where do you figure you started with $0?
@financialwolf you should have reminded him that he signed a contract. Especially if you had a time frame in the contract. Sucks he did that but you'll bounce back!
Great video but the sound in the background the booming is way too loud! it really detracts from the video please turn down the sound or just turn it off As the rest of the video is really inspiring!
Hey, don't forget about insurance for you business people. It's a low liability industry, should only cost you a few hundred bucks, but could save your life.
Nah that’s crazy, that guy had the info and everything and changed his mind after everything you did, all your hard work, sorry to hear man but hey, surely there is that silver lining 🙏 Honestly your videos inspire me to get out there and make money and seeing that determination really helps make goals seem achievable, all the best man, good luck 🙏
Some very sad people have edited the documents and wrote some obscene comments. Could you please upload them again and maybe make them uneditable. Hopefully you get a better spot soon!
