I'd wager most gamers are with you on this. PS2 is legendary, and people are coming around (including myself) to seeing PS3 in the same light. Great consoles :)
Both PS2 and PS3 are revolutionary peaces of tech. PS2 dvd player? Whoa that was a thing back then. PS3? Man you can just download anything from internet right into your console. PS4 was prety good. But PS5… PS5 is just PS5 and there is nothing about it. No revolution in games or tech… I think we are in dead end now
PS3 is still modern to me, it's HD, there are trophies, the visuals fall a bit short understandably but I don't feel much of a difference when I go from GT7 to Ghostbusters in 5 mins
The ps3 came out on 2006, 18 years ago. In 2006, 18 years ago from then it was 1988… Did we (already) think the NES, SNES, Saturn were retro? I sure did (born in 1993)
It's considered retro when it's no longer supported. It's not really a matter of opinion. Everything prior to generation 8 is retro, and even much of generation 8 is retro, Wii U, 3DS, Vita.
Going through same thoughts, just spent over £2000 on ps1 and ps2 games. Retro stuff is some much more entertaining than modern trash. Ps1 is where my nostalgia sits.
@@AnotherNormalYorkshireman I guess pal=trash just because of no 60hz, even tho majority of pal ps2 games plays 60hz and you can easily fix 60hz on pal ps1 games nowadays. So yeah he is just dumb and incredible delusional, even more so if he wasted money on ntsc trash, so be happy that you bough pal and not ntsc. Atleast ntsc on playstation I mean
I feel ya. My mother thought video games were a waste of money that rots your brain back in the day. Unlike my childhood games, she's coming around and realizing
Eh, I prefer the original Bioshock, since Infinite just feels like a completely different game entirely, compared to the first 2 games. It doesn't have the atmosphere that Rapture has in all honesty. But that is just my own personal opinion.
yeah even if many people arent a big fan of infinite, you gotta admit that tossing the og bioshock on the disc as a freebie is one hell of a deal, and was how i first played bioshock. also worth mentioning is the limited edition medal of honor for the ps3, which comes with medal of honor frontline on the disc! i believe this bonus was exclusive to the ps3 version, so if you own the ps3 copy of it you can play a hd remastered version of frontline! sweet!
Theres something about the PS3 and PS2. My favorite consoles, back when games felt complete, had soul in them and not trying to syphon your money every chance it gets.
Just finished LA noire last summer on my modded PS 3. One of my favorite games of all time. Story, visuals, attention to details, the whole atmosphere, everything is just too good. ❤️
Im în the same situation as you as far as collecting ps2 ps3 games. The way I see it modern gaming is heading toward a crash so I’m collecting to hold me over for years to come with games that I missed out on at the time. Game equivalent to prepping😂. Great content as always keep up the awesome work
I've come across this as I'm in the midst of a PS3 resurgence myself. I've picked up most of my PS3 collection again recently and this was awesome to watch. You've earned a sub, sir!
Medal of Honor Frontline was my first PS2 experience as a kid. My friends older brother had it and I remember being amazed and blown away by the graphical leap at the time. I will say that overall the PS3 if my all time favorite console.
My man you saved my life with this ...Im from 92 played a good games on ps 4 still play like Pes 19 with a file to be actual god of war last of us genshin impact shadow warrior Metro etc But for the last 2 years or something i have just feeling the urge to search for memories and games from ps 2 3 xbox 360 ps1 and will probably get one again and play so much nostalgic games that i love and actually we could play and get materialized content ...And you right Black is most likely top 3 top 5 best shooters of all time if not the best , even graphics that game at the time was just a marvelous fun real challengin experience that was probably the last game i remember my step dad playing with me ,years after we actually played it for the first time when i got a ps 2 again and we played so much rainbow six and splinter cell on xbox 360...Keep it up man.
Your videos are excellent. You are informative and funny, I think this channel will be big if you keep at it and don't lose your passion and humour along the way. My prediction is that you'll have 25k subscribers by this time next year and multiple 100k+ view videos, if not some in the 250k-500k range
Based on what I have heard Gamestop is beginning to transition to more general use electronics (phones, laptops, etc), collectibles, and memorabilia. They obviously still have digital/physical games but they are definitely shifting into other things because they see it coming.
I say get the games while you can. PS3 to me still seems like yesterday too, I remember being so happy to finally have bought one with my friend and we thought it was the coolest thing ever. I still have it.
Need for speed hot pursuit 2?!!! on PS2!! Its become so rare to get them where I'm at! I loved that game, the 2000s Need For speed games were amazing! They were made with love and not greed
RU-vid's recommender system actually worked well this time. Your taste in games is %87 similar to mine and I love how most of the games that I play and collect are there in your library as well. So many great memories that I continue to cherish and experience.
Just started collecting ps2 og games. But at the same time playing burned dvds so i dont scratch the og discs. Lingering into the lost childhood is sooo much funnnn
Relatable, my mom got rid of my collection when i was younger by selling it very cheap to someone without telling me, it was a gift from my dad so she had no right to actually sell it, but she did anyways.
Got kicked out at 17 and had to sell a lot of physical media from CDs, Movies, Comics, Manga, Ps1-4 games all just to afford rent. Thankfully now that im doing a little better I got myself a ps2 and a good chunk of games for my 26th Birthday recently and me and my kid have been loving alot of the 2 player games i've been getting
Title might be missunderstood. You can buy PS3 games with 5-10$ a piece. With 50$ you can buy games for the next 2 years. That is the price of 1-2 month of gamepass.
F Yeah, da boooiii is back with a new video. Same here about retro games, welp, I start to get some of the DLCs or just Downloadable Games or Games where the physcial version is damn expensive (I look at you Yakuza Dead Souls) and Yup I damn enjoy playing PS3 more than my PS4🤔
Off topic but not sure if you're a fan of the PS1 era or not. I just beat my first PS1 game, that being Castlevania Symphony of the Night. What a great time.
That was very entertaining, I've just got all trophies for Uncharted drakes fortune and my god it was tough as old boots. My first platinum on ps3. I can't stop playing ps3 its great.
I just finished BioShock infinite about a week ago. Good stuff. Playing Gran Turismo 5 right now. Unfortunately all the online features are dead though.
You are the most funny RU-vidr gamer, managing to combine amazing comedy with such deepness and meaning! ❤ Keep going this way only - never forget who you are and your identity - do not loose it! Subscribed a hundred times! ❤️
The PS3 still smashes in 2024 and beyond... its got a great lineup of games that still visually look good till this day & have their replay value 🤩👌🏾💎✨️
I still play and collect PS2 games, there's a ton of fantastic games released for it, games such as: Klonoa 2 Jak and daxter 1,2,3 Jak x combat racing Rayman 2 revolution Champions return to arms Champions of norrath baldur's gate war of the monsters Justice league heroes the lord of the rings the two towers the lord of the rings the return of the king Ratchet and clank 1,2,3 Ratchet deadlocked Sly cooper 1,2,3 R-type final killzone Freedom fighters Metal gear solid 2 Virtua fighter 4 gran turismo 4 Splashdown Transformers released in 2004 Jet li rise to honor Crisis zone Time crisis 3 Lego star wars 1,2 Lego batman Atv offroad fury 1,2,3,4 Splashdown rides gone wild Socom 1,2,3 Socom combined assault need for speed hot pursuit 2 the mark of kri Urban reign Ssx released in 2000 Ssx tricky Nba street Nba street vol 2 smash court tennis pro tournament 1,2 king kong yakuza 1 Crash twinsanity Spongebob battle for bikini bottom Dr. Muto soul calibur 2,3 Viewtiful joe def jam vendetta def jam fight for NY Mx unleashed Mx vs atv unleashed
@@davidratkay9281 metal gear 3 is excellent but I didn't finish it years ago, I finished metal 2 and to me metal 2 is better, I liked it a lot and it was released in 2001, it's a classic
I've started to collect PS2 and PS3 games as well! mainly just getting the games that I remember playing and loved, ans games that I never got to play but wanted to. Been ripping them and playing them on emulation.
I'm currently buying as many ps3 slims as possible, various models and jailbreakng/cleaning them. Running OC ver of EvilNat and testing. Keep them living as long as possible and sell some off.
Man, I found your channel like 2 weeks ago and went through almost all your content. You're one of the very few youtubers I found with an actual likable personality which oozes out of your videos, and I can relate so hard to everything you're saying :D Bought a PS3 last year, and just started to collect games for it. I'm having a blast even though by today's standards PS3 games run like dogcr*p (sub 20FPS in a lot of games, etc)... But who cares? :D Anyhow, keep this up, I'm always super happy when you release a new video! And If I may propose something: It would be awesome if you did game reviews with gameplay recorded by you with some goofy commentary, etc. Best of luck man, I'll be watching your youtube career very closely!
im currently trying to finish all the trophies for the 50+ games I have for my ps3. Im doing the infinite bolt glitch on ratchet and clank 1 for the hd collection to get 1 million bolts 😂
Some PS3 games aren't even worth to platnium, since some games are too damn difficult to get a platinum trophy for. Good example is Metal Gear Rising Revengeance on PS3. Some game trophies are worthless to get, since they are connected to online gameplay, which sucks since the servers have been shut down for a lot of them.
Yup, I lost all my stuff from my childhood. It was either thrown out in moves or stolen or borrowed or lost. I've been bored as hell with games lately. I'm playing Project Zomboid which has been in Early Access for 10 years and I've been playing it for 10 years, it's that good, but it looks like it would've been played on the PS2 ironically.
Love the video again . I remember you mentioning lower frame rates on ps2 … have you ever tried replaying your ps2 childhood games on the OG Xbox …. Literally every game runs way smoother on Xbox . And it’s actually online dude . Insignia revived the OG Xbox live servers . Get on it dude .
When I was in my early 20s in the mid 2000s my dad donated a whole medium walmart sized boxed filled to the top with NFL jerseys I collected over the years and I'm still pissed off about it and will be till i die. If you knew my dad he did it on purpose it wasn't an accident. He goes on cleaning sprees time to time and just gets rid of stuff without caring whose stuff it is or what it is without asking. My mother tells me he's still the same way today
I started collecting ps3 games again, im right around 50 games for my ps3. I eventually want to get a ps2 again since we sold our original ps2 at a game store 15 years ago if I remember for like $40-50. 😂
Mafia is amazing ! Metal gear solid 4 is amazing too cut scenes back then on that game were awesome! Tony hawk underground was my favorite Tony hawk game
I like your video style. Also, you looks like Marshall Mathers Edit: Medal of Honor Frontline, I loved that game. I think it was the first game I ever finished, campaign wise. I remember beating it and have a sense of great accomplishment.
Im collecting ps2 and ps1 DDR's, twisted metals, Midnight Club series, and some other ones that I might want to be beat. The list really isn't that long. Im on the hunt for a 36 - or 34-inch hd crt. Im having a blast with wii also. My PS5 is played rarely. I can't keep up anymore.
Paused the video at 11 seconds just to get something off my chest. I ran through my bank records since Nov 2023 and calculated the following. I bought 65 PS2 games, 126 PS3 games, and 85 PS4 games. Total spend? Equivalent of $3490. Why? Partly because I can. But dont see it as a flex. I can now...I couldn't up to a year ago. And I'm 47 now. Secondly...I wanted to fill out a DVD storage stand with 60 slots...and then I needed to buy another one with 86 slots. That also got filled up. Now I am in the process of designing a wooden interlocking system with slots for 285 disk covers. In your measurements... 2.5 feet wide, 6 feet tall. And I fear this is just the start of my addiction. Just this morning I picked up two CoD games, Far Cry 3 for PS4, Ghosts of Tsushima and Darksiders Genesis for $40 in total. With around 45 games (PS2, 3 and 4) still on itheir way this week across 10 or 11 different shipments. It would have been 60+ disks if I didnt force myself to whittle the orders down a tad. So... My name is James, and I have a BIG fucking problem!!!
I would consider the PS3 as of today retro. I have a 20 year marker in my mind where I consider things old and "retro" so the PS3 is basically there haha. What's crazy is it's a quality retro console with quality looking games too! Most times we tend to think of or at least we are used to retro gaming being older looking games that aren't HD or high quality in the way they look and play overall. Time flies!
Dude, if your Gran Turismo 5 disk isn't working and you want to replace it, buy Gran Turismo 5: Academy Edition. I bought my GT5: AE copy about 8 months ago and the Academy Edition comes with all the dlc included on the disk, which obviously the base game doesn't have. So if you're gonna replace your faulty copy, might as well get the most complete version of the game.
When they say the ps5 is in the latter stage of it’s lifecycle is madness when you consider how much they still charge for the damn thing. £450 is not the price of a console in its latter stages. It’s the reason I’m still not on ps5, I refuse to pay crazy prices like that, and for them to say it’s getting close to the end. Wow. Lower the f**king price then!
where I live PS3 games are stupidly cheap,I got a collection of like 18 PS3 games and out of those I only paid for 4 of them. The most expensive one was $10. It was the last of us. Super cheap.
The last of us game is so Good! I just bought the old tombraider games on ps1 . Collecting all the good games :) especially the good story telling single mode games. Your right IGN sucks ahahah😂
Mafia 1 is cult classic here in czech. It had great czech dubs, but english in that game sounds bad. The actors werent probably paid enough. I recommend you try out Mafia DE on pc/ps5!
So have I. And my PS2 collection and even PS3 collection is barley scratching the surface of what these systems have to offer. Most of my PS3 games I bought are also older titles that are accessible on PC, but because Steam has removed the original versions of games in favour of remasters or some of those games aren't even operating on Windows 10, or my laptop is just not being powerful enough to run some of those games, I had no choice to buy some of the games like Spec Ops The Line, Batman Arkham games, Sleeping Dogs, Bioshock, etc. on PS3. I even enjoy playing Resident Evil 4 and Max Payne on PS2 despite some people claiming those titles as the worst ports to play on the system.
@@mandibiedermann2246 It was honestly the very first Resident Evil game I have ever beaten on the system. Some people just hate the port, because graphically it looks worse then the GameCube version and also it uses pre rendered cutscenes instead of in game ones. But to me, it doesn't bother me that much, since essentially it's still the same game & I have fun playing RE4 on PS2. Plus it also has the Ada Wong campaign, which wasn't implemented on the GameCube port.
I have been collecting for the PS3 lately up to about 60 games give or take just picked up a heavy hitter in Splatterhouse need to pick up the Tony Hawks and the Skate games still love those.
I'm loving this channel and your sense of humour, you're a funny guy 😄 I think for PS3 I have easily over 300 physical games, I still buy PS3 games if I see anything I haven't played before or if it's something I really like a lot, You have a good collection there man and I'm sure you'll easily have over 300 physical games too soon. I think some of the Lego games are worth getting if you haven't tried them, like Lego Lord of the Rings, it has the proper voices like from the film's so good 😊 also Lego The Hobbit, Lego Indiana Jones, Lego Star Wars and Lego Batman games are good 😊👍 Not sure if you have played it but Deadpool on PS3 or PS4 but makes no difference really PS3 looks just as good, try Deadpool, it's a really good 3rd person action game that is funny too and it's a 18 so not a kids game. The Wolverine game on PS3 was really good too, it's an 18 so it has bits where you slice up the bad guys, the combat is really good and I think it has the proper voices too 😊 Not sure if you have played it but Dead Island is really good, it's a first person action game where you use homemade weapons and guns and try and get off the Island it's a holiday Island. In my opinion still just as good on the PS3 as the PS4 version. Good video mate 👍
