Good success story, Kenya is able to attain food security by doing serious investment in the dairy sector and offering a range of attractive incentives to passionate farms. Thanks for the insights.
Am happy for your parent's support. I wish I had such loving and supportive parents. That's how generational wealth is created. Good job and as a young man you're inspirational to others, to your peers I mean.
Great content! What an amazing story of this young dairy farmer. Next time please go in-depth to also cover the design of the structures: the feed troughs, water troughs and the resting/sleeping areas. Does he also have an exercise yard for the animals? Remember also to give us the location and contacts of the farmer as a way of giving back to them and also linking farmers.
The market is there... You don't have to sell milk to Fresh diary alone. You can learn how to make cheese yoghurt butter etc... You can't be there waiting for Gavumenti ekuyambe. Guys are doing amazing things at a small scale allover Uganda
I'm watching from Nigeria, wish to visit this farm in nearest future. This is because we are planning to diversify from Ram and Goat farming to diary cow and production. Where's this farm situated?. I love the farm and it's environment
Good lessons learnt.....wish to improve my dairy to pedigree...what do i do?....then silage making....i loose alot of feeds due to poor storage....what do i do?
For silage you need to dig a dump then get nice polythene bags similar to zile ya green house avoid the black ones . Make sure its heavy. There is a certain chemical used to make the silage... The best unlike molases. Make sure the silage is air tight. And well compressed .
