I did a detox similar to this when I was younger due to a failing kidney. All I had for the first week was chicken broth, the second week I was aloud one raw egg. And slowly I could eat coconut oil, the. Honey, then eventually meats. And that diet persisted for a whole year. By the end my skin was better then I’ve ever seen it, I had more energy then I never knew I could have, and I was always happy. Good move on you, it’s a life changing experience.
Fasting is very good for you! Many don’t believe only because they are not educated enough to know how the body learns to replenish and use it’s own energy stores without the added calories food provides! This wellness resort is spot on with what they are doing and their philosophy
Food masks all kind of trauma…generally society is addicted to food, it’s overload, it’s a full addiction that’s accepted. Fasting is necessary and healing on so many levels.

Is it possible that it was traumatic for you as you apparently were unaware of what you were signing up for? This looks like a paradise where I’d be able to completely reset, if I knew it was for a detox.
It's possible it was traumatic cause he went there without knowing anything and with the sole purpose of making a youtube video instead of actually relaxing and detoxing. Even the waiter was like "hey bro, wanna put down the phone at some point maybe?" lol
I can identify with the whole hypothyroidism thing. I've had this condition for a long time. I'm on medication for it, and it does help. You are young, and it sounds like you're on the right track to taking better care of yourself. In my opinion, the best detox is simply drinking water throughout the day. So many people are dehydrated without knowing it. It took me until I entered my 50's to realize all of this.

I work as a chef for a wellness retreat less fancy than this one and it mostly just consists of healthy food/juice fast, meditation and yoga without all those treatments. We serve the meals buffet style so the guests don't go starving. You would not want to sign up for the silent meditation retreat lol. Most people I see attending seem relaxed and happy to be there so maybe you suffered because you didn't know what you signed up for and it was a drastic lifestyle change for you

I've never watched you before Ben. The most endearing bit was when your guide was talking about Sri Lanka being part of the British Colony and you said "yeah, sorry about that". I smiled. Thank you Ben, for acknowledging how problematic that time was with a simple and yet much needed apology. I was here hoping to find a great detox place, but I'm not convinced by this one. Reminded me of one I stayed in India which seemed similar. Think I'll find a UK one. I can live without the snakes, spiders and mosquitos!

I do stuff like this all the time, so none of that is an issue for me, but I can't imagine doing it in a vacation like setting. I want to totally enjoy myself on vacation, especially with food and being comfortable/relaxed. Hope you at least got some great health benefits.

So $5,000 for juicing, shitting, starving, an enima, a couple yoga sessions with one meditation session where your told by the master that he can’t teach you meditation followed up with blood sucking fly bite, daily sauna soak, a sunburn, venomous snakes, a natural pool where you have to ask if there’s piranhas & ultimately leaving after an unwanted ass assault…..cool
This wellness spa is spot on. You should have researched more on what kind of retreat you really wanted and chose the right spa accordingly to your purpose. But watching the whole video, this is a spot on cleansing, regenerative and healing health wellness retreat
yeah this er, isn't actually a spa retreat, this is one celebrities go to to lose weight before a big event versus actual relaxation. The fact it had and would have stated that they do enemas should have been the give away smh
Try the detox clinic in Tibet. Where you spend the first week puking and crapping yourself because they give you stuff to detox you from even opiates and hard core drugs. So this looks like a vacation compared to that experience
That’s good to know because it does seem that a lot of videos on wellness retreats and detox posh rehabs do not show people filming with real long term addictions like opiates etc which is my problem .

Great editing and some very beautiful shots. I’m glad you saw some benefits when you returned. I don’t want to minimize your experience, I just wonder if you could have taken a more positive approach to your video. I am a little bugged out by the “first-world” problems you faced. Many cannot even imagine to be able to do something so special. I felt icky when you complained about it most of the time. It looked like you were in a very beautiful and magical place, but it didn’t seem you expressed it enough. Plus, for such an expensive week, I’m not sure why you wouldn’t have done more research to know exactly what you were getting yourself into.
If you changed for the better it’s doesn’t necessarily mean it was horrible . Detox is a detox lol 😆. But what a great video . I’m looking into this 😂 because honestly I think at some point we all need some alone time and to figure out what we need moving forward ❤

I detox/ withdrawl the hard way, shaking, sweating, nausea, stomach/ bowel pain, anxiety, night terrors, and delusions. Usually after the 4-5th day it goes away and I get better each day after. Sometimes I need benzodiazpines to get through, 95% of the time i just suffer through it. Its not worth going down this path as each withdrawl gets worse the next time.

Yeah, in other parts of the world, we don’t eat nearly as much as Westerners do. We take small bites, and often take our time with chewing, thus we feel very full with very little :)

The thing is if a detox is mainly just shitting you can do that at home for less money. Though the irony for me is this would probably be great for me because when I travel I almost always get backed up.
