I love the virgin hotel. It’s a nice smaller size which feels relaxed. The restaurants are fab and the beach club - is it done? - is amazing. Saw sofi tukker there! The whole place is just good vibes. I even stayed there alone once and I think it’s great for solo work-cation traveler.
Looks like a nice place to stay for the right people but not most people. If you have been there and done everything in Vegas 10 times and just want a nice casino with a great pool and bars to enjoy a few days the Virgin looks excellent. Though it is much further off strip the Red Rock does a better job for this type of visitor. It would be a disservice to steer really cool neighbors or friends who have never been to Vegas before into this hotel. Its all location location location if you plan on spending time on the strip. There is something magical about being at a middle of the strip property and being able to leave your hotel in either direction with most of the best of Vegas within a short walk.
Husband and I spent four nights there two weeks ago and really liked it. After a conference at the MGM we were looking for a more peaceful setting. Loved the smoothie bar next to the gym, loved the sand beach pool, loved that the casino was not full of cigarette smoke because there were few players, loved that the rooms and grounds were in pristine condition. The place came to life on the weekend. We walked back and forth to the strip each day which felt safer when we were with a group of walkers. For anyone looking for more tranquility, space and relaxation with a funky boutique hotel vibe, this is the resort for you.
I stayed here in January '22 just under $60. INSANE VALUE! The whole property has such a kitchy '60's vibe as seen in Ruby's walkthrough. I think it struggles because of its location but it's certainly worth it.
I think when it first opened they didn't charge resort fee, so it was ok being so far off strip, but now have to pay $45 for resort fee which is higher than some of the strip properties, so there is really no reason to go there unless one is Hilton gold or diamond that at least get daily food credit to offset part of the resort fee
We just finished our stay Sunday until Wednesday. We’re in our fifties and non-gamblers and wanted to say somewhere nice. The music playing hotel-wide was hip and at a moderate volume. People at the bar and the gym were happy. The Mexican restaurant and ice cream parlor were great. Everything still looked, felt and smelled new and clean. It’s off-Strip and quieter but we loved it. Virgin designs their standard room impeccably. We stayed two nights the prior week at the Linq around the same price point - although a better location, it was loud, a little chaotic, and the room looked, felt and smelled old and dirty.
I worked on the conversion from Hard Rock to Virgin. The art in the back of the house tunnel from the south tower to the north is off the hook awesome! The employees painted murals of music legions. I’m glad Virgin decided to keep it. You should ask for a tour of That! ❤️
I used to work there! I was on the opening team for the hotel, back when one of their big marketing things was street pricing for the mini bar and no resort fees. Yep you can take the sheep :D
I agree here. It’s way way underrated. I liked what I saw. I don’t mind too if there is less people. I like it more quiet. Everything looked nice. The room, the restaurant, bars, etc. I think it might have to do with the location. As they say, location is everything. It’s too bad. This place deserves more love.
I stayed at the Virgin this past February and thought it was a great place. My room was very similar to yours, however, I had a small wooden stool in the shower that was used as a shelf. My only complaints are that the room I was in was along Paradise Drive and I was awoken both night by sirens. Next time, I will ask for a room with a pool view. Also, I think the resort fees were insanely high. On the bright side though, it still had free parking. I would definitely stay there again.
Ok ruby, I am a frequent visitor at Virgin’s hotel once a month and it’s by far my favorite place! I always stayed at hard rock back in the day too but VIRGIN just has a different great vibe! Please go try ONE when you are there . Service and food is just so good and the ambience there is so cool. I have a players card there and I get to stay on the “ruby” tower and the rooms are more quiet during summer because it can get loud there with the DJ pool side but other than that, it’s such a Palm Springs vibe there. Love love love that you gave this place a shout and a good review!! Casa calvera is so so yummy too ❤
I stayed at Virgin in January of last year while I was in town on business. Think I got a pretty good deal. $114 per night for a junior suite in a tower with its own separate check-in lobby. They waived the resort fee because I had booked the room before they started charging resort fees. Nice decor, fun environment and I prefer staying off-strip so it was perfect for me. Don't wander around outside at night as a lot of homeless people gather at the 7-Eleven across the street and it's kind of sketchy. Overall, a good experience at Virgin.
@@crunchers9 There's a strip mall with a Dunkin, 7-Eleven and some other eateries, but I don't remember seeing a strip club. But, then again, I wasn't really looking for one, so there could have been.
I just hope your are able to come into Reno and experience the hotels and casinos in this area, especially since we have a different scenery than in Vegas.
I really enjoyed your video of the Virgin Hotel. The room looked big and spacious and the inside/outside seating for the restaurants was a great idea by Virgin Hotels. The Shag Room looks like fun also. Its a challenging location because its about 1.5 miles east of the Strip and hopefully they can try and cater to Vegas locals to get more customers in the casino.
Take the sheep. The one regional hotel group here in PA puts logoed rubber duckies in the bathrooms and they expect you to take them, they are advertising write-offs and a really smart way to market their hotel.
I love what they have done with this resort, the decor is beautiful. But the problem they have is it's not on The Strip. The reason people came here when it was the Hard Rock is because it was so different than The Strip hotels. This place was packed all the time every time I went there as a local to see concerts or eat at a restaurant.
When I go to Vegas just pass this one by, but the layout, pricing, and what they have to offer looks great. I am just spoiled having a fridge in my hotel.
Very cool room. When you put Cheap in your title, your numbers of views go nuts 😆. We all wanna save in Vegas. No one shows this casino much. Very nice video and it’s such a classic design. Very nice👍🍀🎰😻
A good alternative to no personal fridge, check out those powered soft sided coolers. While it could be a packing issue, many will kind of lay flat. You plug them in and while they take a long time for a warm item to cool, they will keep it ice cold eventually and work very well with prechillled items as well. I suppose one could also just use their ice machines to fill a sealed cooler bag and put items in there. Thank you again for the videos!
Decor looks kind of 70's to me but a modern 70's if that makes any sense. I like your Stardust shirt. I have one too that I bought at the Stardust when my brother and I stayed there.
I've read that they do not allow any outside food or drink into the rooms. If that is true, that is a deal-breaker for me. I hate to be forced to pay resort fees and then forced to only eat and drink what they overcharge for.
That is not a deal there at all. I’ve brought in bags of food, water, and other things with no issue. My friend thought the smart water was the free water, not the Virgin branded mini bottles. She drank one and was able to talk to the front desk about replacing one from a nearby CVS and didn’t get charged the crazy $10 bottled water fee.
Thank you for this review! I’ll be staying at Virgin in less than a month for the first time. I can always depend on you for candid and honest reviews. I can’t wait to check it out!
We stayed here March '22 & they were having Widespread Panic concerts all weekend. It was lively & a good time. I wasn't there for the concert but met a lot of the people that were. I'd stay again
I stay at Virgin 4-5 times a year. I LOVE it there! The staff (many long-time staffers from the Hard Rock days) are the BEST! Great property, Great people!
I was just there over the weekend and LOVED IT! I liked that it was quiet but still had a casino, great pool, relaxing outdoor area, coffee bar, big rooms, and great restaurants- will stay again!
Nice looking property. I'd definitely consider a stay. Hey Ruby - now that y'all live in Nevada, how bout doing a series on Reno casinos and restaurants???? I'd LOVE it!!!
Loved the Hard Rock, back before the pool shading tower expansions. Rehab Sundays and some good concerts. I don't really see any identity or theme, unless it's adult only with activities to match. Comped in once as a judge for The Hard Rock Calendar Girl. Used the Bowling Alley Suite, bowling lane as a Catwalk. Vegas just doesn't seem that special, once everywhere allowed casinos. Rather be by a warm beach to not be so board that gaming seems fun.
I stayed at the Fitzgerald when Vegas was sold out for Chavez vs Taylor I at the LV Hilton and my sister laughed at me, a so called baller back in the day. A big advantage of staying in the last tiered Hotels are the black jack tables.
I am just finishing building the new Virgin Hotel in Glasgow Scotland, I am in charge of the plumbing etc, we have a Shag room here too lol, the decoration not exactly the same but very fresh and modern as well. The food here is amazing as well and again the staff are the best, super helpful. I hope your video will encourage ppl to go to this one in Vegas.
We stayed there when it was the Hard Rock and now that it's the Virgin. We always liked the size of the rooms and the restaurants. We don't lobe the new restaurants as much as the old ones though. We do stay in the Ruby Tower. It's more expensive but the rooms are so much bigger. There is also a huge soaking tub. It's amazing.
The shag room...I believe you can make reservations. I would always hang out at those little bars with the free entertainment back in the day. Need more of those again... they are a lot of fun.
Since I visit Vegas quite a few times a year I’ve meet up with friends after there done with work, usually after midnight, when that was Hard Rock and always liked the vibe there . I’m excited to see what it’s like now, thanks for the review
Nice looking property, the time we walked through there in Nov. 2022. But I'm not sure how it's staying afloat given that most days you could throw a bag of grenades in any direction and not kill anyone. Restaurants were empty. Pool empty (back when I stopped by in August 2022). Gaming areas essentially empty. Employees seem apathetic and disinterested. They don't tier match, which would go a long way towards attracting players such as myself who are gold at MGM and president at Station. They need to make some changes to get backsides in the door.
Thank you for all the reviews for Vegas. I haven't been to Vegas in about 10 years. Going online and looking at website reviews, they are all over the place. I couldn't decide on a casino. So I thought I would try something different. I'm going to the U2 Concert at the Sphere and was looking for a place within walking distance. If you pull up a map and go down there are a couple of places off the strip, but close. I chose Tuscany Suites and Casinos. I don't think I will be the only sphere customer looking this way. Could you do a review on Tuscany Suites?
I stayed at the Hard Rock twice and stopped by on every trip, those guys had a definite niche. Gonna be tough for Virgin to match that. However my wife works for Hilton. The place looks fabulous and it's now on the radar. Very good rates when compared to Strip properties and no resort fees for employees!
Ugh, I just hate that, when there's no shelf in the shower, so you have to set everything down on the floor. I use facial soap in a bar, so always have to balance the bar on the top of my shampoo bottle. Also, if I owned the Virgin, I'd want it to be easy for people to come to my resort, so I'd get a mini van and offer free rides to and from the Strip. That would be a great way to get people to the Virgin.
There is normally a little wooden stool in the shower. We stayed recently and that exact room but a floor or 2 up. The products were sat on the stool in the shower and more at the sink. We are going again in June so I'll report if they still have stools but we were there a little over a month ago and they did. We didn't get that cute sheep though 🤣
That is one of the dumbest thing I've ever read in the comment section. so you want to willfully take people away from spending money at your resort?? that's some keen business sense you have there.
Wow this place looks incredible. Even thought it’s off strip I’ll still consider staying here. This area is up and coming and should become apart of the strip in the next 15-20 years.
@ThuggyMacho that's what was 10 years ago. Walking to planet Hollywood you have to be careful, and towards flamingo on Paradise you go by the drugged out homelesd encampment which used to be the old Key Largo. All kinds of crazies pop outta there. I mean it is real life/ true Americana... but I doubt it's up and coming anywhere 😆
@@renocool1558 you’ll see in 10 years from now if you’re young enough. I’m sure they said that about the strip originally when it was just downtown and look it now.
It's a very nice room for the price . BUT the bed is very firm, the a/c isn't the best and the front desk can be rude/incompetent. I stayed there multiple times bc they comp me, but bc of the negatives I listed it's not my favorite place to stay . For a room the essentias for me are a good bed, shower and a/c. After that the rest is extras , they oddly score well on extras but poor on the basics.
maybe worth a shot if I go again. As far as the sheep, ask at check outfit they say no, give it back to them there. may have tracking device if other stuff comes up missing from your room such as robes or pillows etc.
This place is a ghost town, cannot blame the location…. HardRock was always busy. Sad, because this place has such a nice vibe and solid restaurant offerings.
I'm glad Nobu's still there after they renovated from Hard Rock to Virgin. I think Virgin is so underrated because customers have the mentality that the brand is so posh, and expensive, and that 'I can never afford to stay there'. And that is where it needs to change in terms of marketing the place.
I stayed there for 3 nights for business. Really enjoyed it. Beautiful room, good location and good restaurants. Staying in the big Vegas hotels for business can be a chore, but Virgin was easy and comfortable
I've stayed at the hotel both recently and when it was the Hard Rock. I personally preferred the Hard Rock for the Casio/food but the rooms are much better with the refurbishment.
You definitely did a good job at making Virgin Hotel Las Vegas seem A LOT better than it really is! Maybe things have improved A LITTLE since I was last there, but I doubt they have improved that much. It definitely wasn't a pleasant experience in April 2022. The only thing I enjoyed during my stay at Virgin Vegas were the pools. Everything else about that place was absolutely terrible. The room was the worst part! It was dirty and not maintained well. It had prior damage from previous guests. There were broken features in the room that I was given, which I immediately had to report so that I would not be wrongly charged extra fees for previous damages. The bathroom shower did not drain properly (I was literally standing in a pool of water while showering). The rooms had absolutely NO soundproofing (I could hear the person in the next room coughing SO clearly, it sounded like they were literally in the same room with me! Plus the noise from music concerts that they have on stage outside the rooms at night was SO LOUD that it was BLARING into my room and actually making the walls, windows, and floor vibrate/shake for several HOURS until after Midnight. The resistant carpet that they have installed throughout the entire hotel creates absolutely TERRIBLE friction and makes dragging your rolling luggage EXTREMELY difficult! I was SO EXHAUSTED from having to drag my luggage on that carpet, from the lobby to my room and then back to the lobby again when checking out. It did not glide well at all! Most Las Vegas hotels specifically have smooth pathways so that rolling luggage is SUPER easy and a breeze for guests to navigate through the entire hotel. But unfortunately, the designers of this Virgin Hotel did NOT even consider guests needing to be able to drag their rolling luggage throughout the hotel, when they chose to cover ALL the floors with this AWFUL carpet. The list of things I found wrong with this place goes on and on. I'll probably never trust staying there again. 6:53: Plus I've heard horror stories from anyone who has gambled there. The pit bosses don't treat guests well, the loyalty program is abysmal, and people hardly win. So there's no point wasting your money playing at Virgin. 8:20: Hahahaha! That Afters Ice Cream venue has VERY strange hours of operation and is often Closed, just like your footage showed! LMAO!! I really don't know how they stay in business.
Hi Ruby love the restaurants you showing food the places are huge and spectacular wow. Good to know places that are off the strip Sometimes I I like it quiet. With not so,any people around by pool etc.
OOoh, there's the HOFBRAUHAUS! Such delicious food there, and the beer is so good! It's a fun place for dinner. Then we always walk across the street to the Virgin for cocktails.
That's actually a pretty good off Strip area, just south on Paradise is Naked City Pizza which I really love and I'm a big dive bar fan and Double Down Saloon is almost across the street from Naked City.
