Yo! The reason why the players don't render in past about 276m is because 1) it's a strain on the servers and would lead to possible lag spikes, and 2) also protects players from hackers more because back in chapter 1, hackers were able to hit kids with the minigun and instakill them from 500m+ away. I can explain more if you'd like!
@ericchamp8474 another reason is better optimization for low end spec players and ik what you mean they can provide settings for better fps but it wouldnt be fair for everyone
6:10 I’m gonna sound like a nerd, but with each movement of each player going to and back form the servers it would be to much to handle and your game would be very laggy. So that is why cars, players or anything heavily affected by players doesn’t render in at a long distance. The train renders in because isn’t being affected by players.
since you asked, the main reason you can't have people rendered thousands of metres away in games is because if that were the case, fortnite would have to render each individual player on the map for each person at all times, and I mean, 100 moving parts constantly, is not great for game performance, or server performance, you can see this in super stacked lobbies like fncs that are super laggy, cuz there's like 50 people in final zone, it's laggy because the servers having to render 50 individual people all doing different thing simultaneously for everyone because everyone is within each other's render, I imagine the reason the train is rendered in from so far is because, there is one, fortnite don't need to worry about rendering a hundred at a time, there is one train that is quite literally on rails doing the same thing, so that isn't an issue for the game to render even across the map.
but why can't you just give players the option?? like if you have a superpowerful PC you could at least have the option to make the render distance for players a little big larger and don't tell me it's because it would give an "advantage" because 120 fps with 0 ping is obviously better than 30 fps with 300 ping but Fortnite still allows those 2 to play in the same lobby
The true reason why you can't render people far is the circumference of juptier and its gravity pulling the island and making hjdoogan do the thugshaker. I rest my case
Im pretty sure the train renders in "client side" meaning that your computer assumes that the train will move to X destination at Y time. As for players, your computer can't predict to the same extent (all online games actually have an inbuilt "player action predict" that is utilized to minimize the amount of communication needed between your computer and the server... but this can lead to issues such as "rubber-banding", when your computer thinks it's at x position when in actuality the server sees you at Y position -- leading to you being sent back or "rubber-banding" ) ALSO I'm pretty sure that you wont even see the graffiti appear if someone raids the train because the train is rendered client side. ANYWAYS so players are almost entirely rendered server side. And as to not overwhelm servers, as little as possible is sent from server side (which is still a lot in fortnite specifically, due to builds, edits, etc) GENERAL CONSENSUS is that this is to prevent server lag YET fortnite servers still manages to struggle in stacked lobbys (the game would be 2017 world cup unplayable without these very optimizations) EDIT: i just realized like 8 other people wrote the same message..
it's because every action someone does gets sent to the server and then back to all the players in the game, so if you had like 80 guys running around doing stuff then it would lag really bad, so they added the render distance to limit the amount of stuff that's being sent
The main reason why players dont render in past 270 is due to the inputs. Look back to events like summer skirmish in which when there was so many players concentrated in one area, it would cause alot of lag and sever issues. Also everything you do in fortnite (building, shooting etc..) gets sent to a server which then gets sent back to you (inputs). TLDR: Too much players has so much strain on the servers that the game just cant keep up which then breaks practically every aspect of the game.
The reason why you can’t see players far away, isn’t cause of hackers, it’s because of how assets work. When an object is far away it renders a lower resolution prop (sometimes 2D assets) this is so the player doesn’t need to load every prop in high definition and lag. The game doesn’t have low resolution texture and prop for players. And plus with lower resolution props. Such as trees. For one person it might be that 2D image which blocks someone. While they may see just leaves and can see the other player.
day 2 of my idea; Cerberus medallion, flowberry effect and holding out the wings (not using). when you dash in these conditions it’s such good movement
The reason players don't render in past a certain point is (partly) because of server lag. Look at competitive matches for example, they don't uncommonly become practically unplayable because of the lag created by so many players that are densely together.
besides all the bubbas saying that you cant do it becuase of server perfoance and pc performance (no shit), theres a difference between vertical render distance and the horizontal render distacne I believe. The fact that you were up on the statue amde it harder for players to redner in farther away, because you were high up and shit. If the horizontal render distance is somehting like 500 meters, but hte vertical renderdistance is like 100 meters, then if your higher up, less render distance. that is a small part of it, but yeah most of it is that theres a difference between a preloaded texture (like the train) and a player, which is a much more complex file than the train with the health level, username, guns, ammo, materials and exact location.
HJDoogan there’s a better way to get ontop of the statue go to build mode and land at the back there’s a ton of lot second start hitting the materials until max materials then build ramps and shoot the ramps end then you will just have to camp there until a good circle if not then good luck and get the Zeus mythic of you can if they build
The circle has to be pin point corner for him to win the game at least get close he does this he is goated YOOOO THE MUSIC PLAYING would’ve been sick if he won but first try is crazy lucky
