Stenmark was a force of nature. People stopped working just to watch him ski. And then they went back to work after his run was over, 2 minutes later. Decades later he was a marvel in the Champion of Champions reality series, ofc winning the whole thing. With a quarter of the population watching. Those are Melodifestivalen numbers, absolutely crazy.
Wow. Just wow. How did I miss this? Myself 10yo by the date of this event, includes all my idols by the time, but first time I hear about it. So great. Could something similar happen in such a relaxed amateur atmosphere today, without speed talkers, constant zooming, eager mood-building background music - but on the contrary solely with these men having fun with simple play, like it was in elementary school?
