A few explanations: the "leprechaun" is standing under a willow tree (they usually grow near water, they often have a hollow and when they're old, they can look like that); the innkeeper is an old man; the creature in the lake is a "vodník" - which roughly translates to "water spirit", they're very common in Czech fairytales, and lastly, the girl with the crown is most certainly a princess - the king's daughter. All these things are very obvious when you're from the same country as the developers - it's interesting to see that they're not so obvious to others. Also, it's ok to help the devil catch the priest, because in the intro - when they play cards, the priest is broke but wants to keep playing, the devil says he can bet his soul, the priest agrees and loses, hence forfeiting his soul to the devil.
