I played one of Mario Maker 2's most popular levels, speedran it, and got the world record time with some interesting shortcuts, then I beat a hard mario level.
Lilkirbs always has one part where he’s like “I could have walked forward, but by instead doing a triple jump with the bomb and threatening the government of Macedonia with expulsion from the UN, I save an extra 0.87 seconds”
LilKirbs called it the easy one because he didn't get the WR on the other one. Also, to be fair, Barb is not the most difficult (former) super expert Mario level creator even if he's still up there.
I can't believe how time flies, I remember the streams pretty well still when I try to. Edit: I don't think was ever insanely hard. As he purposely made it easier and took out or changed sections he thought were too difficult.
I really love sipwaters level at the end. best creator in the game. I don’t think most people understand how hard it is to make a level that lines up like that
I'm no kaizo player but I've seen so many great levels from them, it's crazy. their precision level was cool and is the only level I've beaten from them lol
I've heard the phrase "the human TAS" a few times before but in this case it honestly might be true. At least in the sense that it probably takes longer to TAS these routes than it does for Kirbs to practice and complete them.
yeah it's really insane how back in the SNES roms days of speed running - all of us pretty much thought - never ever players will be playing like the TAS bots/scripts.... now look at this guy......

I tried to beat The Terminator and I'm pretty sure I never even got to the checkpoint. I did beat Barb's very first level in MM2 tho, forgot what it's called.
