I play the flute even though it's the western kind. Here are my tips for getting a sound out of a side flute: 1. Position the flute on the nook that is right above your chin and try to twist it or raise it so that your bottom lip is just at the edge of the blow hole. 2. To make air go into the flute you need to blow downward by moving your top lip. An easy exercise is to hold your hand 20 centimetres in front of you and blow air at it, then gradually move your hand to go under your chin and keep targeting it. 3. Other than blowing downward you need to make a tiny hole with your lips for more precision and put a lot of pressure into the air that you're pushing. Breathe in and raise your tummy, not your chest, with air, then while doing the exercise above squeeze with your abs and blow through a tiny hole with your lips, kinda like you would for whistling, towards your hand until the air feels strong and cold. 4. When you want to get a sound out of any side flute you need to find the sweet spot by slightly twisting the flute, raising or lowering your chin, moving it side to side etc. It can take a bit to find the right combo but you can do it. I hope this helps you. Good luck! ❤
Honestly Belle, you’re really good for someone that isn’t used to flutes! I have some tips for you. So yes for the third one, you have to relax your lips😂 and you put the mouth piece under your lips and do your model duck face😂 and make a tiny hole in the middle of your lips and blow above the hole on your mouthpiece. Also since you’re dizzy, try breathing exercises like going in for four counts aka get a metronome and breath in for four clicks and breath out for another four clicks. I hope this makes sense and helps! You don’t suck, you’re really good for someone that isn’t used to it! You got this!
My music teacher back in high school used to tell us to pretend to blow in a pop bottle make, so that hoot sound would happen. The lips from that sound is the same. If you have trouble, you can practice with the bottle. Hope that helps!
@@ScarDragonappreciating new musicians by telling them they are like and then start saying why they are like while ignoring their own personality and talents? Yeah
Since you are like my adik²... I'm gonna say this casually ok... It is so refreshing to hear you speak Malay... Guna Malay selalu laaa Bella... You sound extra comel when speaking in Malay
it makes you even more amazing that you can admit to not be able to play a certain kind of instrument since it seems as if you were able to play literally everh single instrument on earth. You're a lovely soul with a talent beyond measure
Learning how to play instruments is such a beautiful journey- you develop a relationship with each one. So glad to hear from you, you always brighten our day!
I play flute in band, just pucker your lips into opened kiss shape and blow. Right back posture allows for better wind flow. To control the tone of your note, adjust your mouth position, or ombrechure, as we band people call it (not sure if I spelled that correctly) more closed lip allows for higher notes, and a more opened mouth allows for lower notes. I am not experienced with bamboo flutes, but I do play alto flute. Hope this helps ❤
omg i would looove to go in your music room and play all of those unique instruments 😭😭 it’s such a blessing to have pieces of culture all in one place 🥹
As ⏃ flute player the third instrument is ⏃ similar style as the metal one ⟟ use. There’s ⏃ specific position of your mouth and- *Ten hours later* And that’s why it took me an entire year to get ⏃ sound out of my flute It was so difficult 🤣
This is funny because I play flute and I was dying laughing the whole time. Try putting your bottom lip right in front of the flute and rotate until you hear a sound come out.❤😂
I play flute in marching band, and how my band director taught you need to feel the edge hole on your bottom lip on the part where you put your mouth to make sound. Hope this helps and I love your music.
Hi I really love your style. I recommend you to use Karnay, Surnay and Dutar Uzbek ethnic musical instruments. Those three instruments will give more color to your art❤❤❤ Please try to listen those instruments
I play flute and clarinet and yes, first time getting a noise out of the flute is really hard! Once you get the noise out of the flute then you will kinda get an idea of how to make noise, and then it just pretty much gets easier from there.
As a flute player i learned the lip thing by going “Wi” keeping the lips with that and then saying “Tu” and you should have a small triangle. Idk if it will work for anyone else trying to learn flute but it did for me.
you're so good at SO many things... so it's ok not to be good at one thing :D I started follow you recently, you're really talented and love your creativity and the whole vibe you bring to your music!
As a flutist it is a skill very few have to be able to blow into the instrument. I suggest a plastic soda bottle or glass. If you can whistle over it, you can learn the flute.
as a fellow wind instrument player ( B flat clarinet) i felt like you would be really good at the percussions, french horn, trumpet, oboe, or clarinet and would really enjoy it if you tried one of them
My tip is to imagine its like when you blow acrothe top of a bottle and it makes noise. It's still difficult to get clean sounds but its an easy way to imagine how it goes
